If I didn't have an agreement with him, I will not have bothered. I will not pay for a package and receive something else. It is not fair. And he didn't even seem bothered when I told him.

SamuelLoch:

Now that the car is with you, I think you'd have to buy the battery yourself. It's quite painful to incur additional unexpected expenses.
Don't let this defect overwhelm the joy of getting such ride.

You pawned off a car with issues and a dead battery to me and you claim to be honest?!

Your mechanic took my money without servicing my car and you claimed to be honest?!

You've been ignoring my messages . [s]to you and came here because I did a review and you claim to be honest?! [/s]

[s]You can spend the money. 25k for a new battery is nothing to me. You've seen my videos and can deduce that I'm not hungry or looking for a pity party or cheap publicity. I wrote a review cos I feel cheated to pay for something and didn't receive it. [/s]

The bolded alone will warrant this kind of review.

Do you know I've already spent up to 100k fixing stuffs in that car in just 4 days? I bought this car with my hard earned money and should get the value of what I paid for. Next time, if you must comment, be reasonable.

Most of us here aren't aware of your agreement. A battery not starting the car can happen, that's the truth. But it's surprising that just after the car was delivered, the battery is now dead, and after jump-starting the engine, the battery is still not starting the engine.
I suggest you take the battery to a battery charger, let them have a final look at it for you.

About the engine oil at the tip, clearly, the engine oil was either not gauged or it's leaking, which I suppose not. If the oil filter looks rusty, clearly, it's not new. About the brake fluid, the mechanic is expected to keep the container in your boot, just top it up. If it's not there, I don't know what to say.

@Amdman, please help Codyella look into the (paid for) car servicing issue thoroughly. Let the joy be full , biko.

I had no plans of doing this but his approach towards the issue was very annoying. He started reading my messages without replying and I was calm the whole time.
If he had been honest from the start, then I know what to expect. How am I supposed to get a car the dealer assured me is a buy and drive and spend over 100k on it without even driving it for one day?! I ran over all these car functions with him and I paid when he assured me that everything is working. Does that sound fair to you?
Like I said, I'm making this review out of my personal experience with him.
If he likes, let him improve on his services.

Gilbertase:
hey there, also expecting my car and this isnt me playing devil's advocate, but if for any reason my car arrives with a bad battery i wouldnt be upset or surprised. A battery that has been disconnected and idle for approx 3months is a gamble, it may hold up or it may not. That i KNOW for sure.

About the servicing, i agree with you all the way. However i wont agree on the fraud label. He isn't directly on ground here to see these guys, so he kinda has to work on 'he said, she said'. I got my company's car mechanic's services terminated with the company with a report like yours. This guy will collect huge sums to tune up cars that are to be allocated to staff and will literally do little or nothing. The sad Nigerian factor. However, i would have expected AMDMAN to believe you. Cos you are the customer and have nothing to gain by lying. All in all, please calm down, the matter no rish this level. Cheers!

She did not pay for brake oil. She only paid for engine oil and filter. The engine oil is clean from the video she sent, so the oil was changed. The picture of the filter was taken from underneath the car. The car was driven from Lagos to Onitsha, on roads that are also muddy. My request to her was to use a cloth to wipe the dirt in the face of the filter and send the picture to me so I can confirm.

All the functions we discussed are in order. I drove your car from the location I bought it to the warehouse for about 2 hours. Your car was driven from Lagos port to Ikeja, and from Ikeja to Onitsha without any issue. I too will like to know what you have spent 100k on so far.

Oga Adman, if you did this, better change. Its not good for your kind of business.

Count your losses bro, go get a battery and enjoy you ride.
This review is very necessary, it has proven to me that this guy called Adman is real and is a human.

For God sake this is a tokunbo car we are talking about. Complaining about battery that was used on a car and which has been idle for months on the sea is too petty.

Madam as far as its not brand new car.. Expect to budget little money for servicing so as to keep it in good shape

Madam should focus on the servicing so they know how to get a refund... But battery? Habah madam

@Codyella help Amdman with his investigation. Clean the surface of the oil filter and send him photos. Brake fluid is N800 or thereabout, just top it up. You can top up the engine oil too, ask for the product then get a replacement at Onitsha, bad as e bad 5ltr should be about N5k.

By the way, I advice that you should be very careful of mechanics, they might be inflating the price of things or telling you things that aren't necessary just to dupe you. N100k is a lot.

Be sure of what the repairs are, or better still, tell us about it here, we could be of great help.

You ripped me off in this car purchase but I believe that karma is real. We all pay for our actions one way or the other. I have learned a big lesson from all this and life goes on. Like I said to those that contacted me, buy at your own risk but hopefully he might improve after all this. I've attached the picture of the filter. It is rusted not dirty.

The servicing paid for is to change engine oil and filter ONLY. Engine oil was clearly changed. The filter is the issue. I agreed with her that that the filter looked dirty on the body. I asked that she should clean the body of the filter and send the picture so I can challenge the mechanic.

Madam everyone knows Amdman takes forever to attend to messages on whatsapp,I’m sure you know this as well which is his shortcoming. Sorry to hear that you’ve spent upto 100k fixing the said car. If Amdman had assured you it’s only battery issh, you can just get a new battery and see if the problem persists, then you can then revert back to him, then if his response isn’t encouraging then you can proceed to call him out. But from your post where you said ” Amdman sold me a car with a dead battery after assuring me of the durability of the car.” without stating if there’s other issh aside the battery iss to me makes no sense.
I’ll tell you this straightup, If you be guy shame sef go catch you to come out and call person out because car battery no good to the extent of calling him a fraudster and advising people against patronizing him by saying “buy at your own risk” because of car battery!!!!!!, Haba!

So many Family Men/breadwinners out there have lost their source of income and unable to fend for their families because of small issues like this blown outta proportion by WOMEN like you who are bent on destroying men’s reputation because of small issh as this which can be resolved amicably.

Lot of Men have patronized him and will always return to drop reviews and also post about his flaws like a buyer who dropped a review about a page back about his car and also made mentioned of slight dent and advised him on what could be done to minimize the damage nazo man dey do, but your own na battery and you’re here labelling him a fraudster.

Someone up there even advised you change the battery and see what happens and lots have asked you what were the stuffs taken from your car, you still never talk am.

Woman go always be woman.

I can only imagine what you've been going through all along. Clearly, you're not making this story up. I believe these costs are one time, and things like this happen in business. Let him challenge his mechanic who probably has caused this chaos. Prior to when he gets a response from the mechanic, don't stop work on getting your car to a driving condition in time.

If my info is not outdated, oil filters aren't expensive. I can remember buying a Toyota oil filter for N600. Ford shouldn't be far different from this estimate.

You can share with us things the mechanic has and is working on. We can provide good support here.

Choice of words matters alot. People have repeatedly asked her to drop the information on things she spent those money on.

This would enable the Op to tackle the issue from the perspective she was coming from but it has not been done. Also, the filter issue is a dicey situation. I don't think a mechanic would sacrifice a regular job prospect from op over a filter that is worth less than one thousand. He would simply lose on the long run.

As for the battery issue, I have no comment on that. No idea how things works but few intelligent people has also said that it is obtainable to experience such due to the car being idle all this while.

Hope the mechanic she gave the car to is not giving her fictitious bill in the name of changing some parts of the car while in the actual sense, he or she didn't change anything whatsoever.

In summary, Madam should table all the expenses she has done in a logical manner in order to enable people know how things stands

Thank you for your concern. So far, you seem to understand my predicament. I worked on the transmission, compressor, bought a new battery, the tire stabilizer keeps hanging out of the car. I patched somewhere under the car that had rust, power steering too had issue. Amongst others cos I paid for them at once so these are the ones I remembered. I bought a new oil, Castro synthetic blend, quite pricey not your regular oil though cos thats what the car uses. Mind you, I already paid 22k to Amdman for his mechanic to add it to the car. But he didn't.

I'm cutting my losses and moving on. I was running away from extra cost by avoiding naija dealers. Never knew I'm entering from frying pan to fire.
And now, after I've spent money working on the car, Amdman is texting me, asking me if I want to collect refund and sell.

I simply laughed. Man got no soul.

All in all. It's well.

The most annoying part is that you'll be seeing him online.

But with this Codyella's experience, I'm off. Dealing with someone who is willing to listen anytime is better biko.
