Nigerians should all rally around USA in enthroning accountability and adherence to established processes by insisting on an independent investigation by an external auditor.

Nigerian leaders have long grown accustomed to not been held accountable in discharging their duties:
-They have looted $600 billion dollars since 1960 without being held to account.
-Disobey court orders.
-Order arrests of critics that speak against corruption and misgovernance.
-Circumvent laid down processes for procurement and employment.

Here are the benefits that will be derived from the investigation:

- If Akinwumi Adesina is absolved by the external inevstigator, the stereotype that all Nigerian's are crooks will be proven wrong.
- It will boost Adewumi personal and political capital and put him in a position as the front runner for the 2023 election.

Let us all rally around the Americans and support an independent investigation.

America played a major role in the pushing for democracy we have today, that has been abused by the politicians. They will continue to play a role to enthrone transparency in the expenditure of the returned Abacha loot and in pushing for human rights in Nigeria.

You call yourself third world which is rather pathetic. We are all human beings and should behave the same, whether America or Nigeria. There is no difference between Nigerian police and the U.S police. But there is a difference between public and government reactions in both countries. How many times have Nigerians protested police brutality in Nigeria? How many Nigerian cops have been punished for brutality? Nigerians are hypocrites and cowards.

How can Nigerians protest police brutality when they will face live bullets?Nigerian authorities have zero regard for human life.

I said third world because most nairalanders that like to thrash Nigeria and Africa so i expect them to have higher expectations from countries like the US but when countries like the US do things that are common here they give them a pass.protest dont work,Nigerians have learnt that long ago, apparently the US havent learnt that, they keep protesting and thrashy things like this keep happening, many cops have been punished for brutality by the way

American accountability? There is nothing accountable about the US. Don't deceive yourself. As a typical African I'd have agreed if this probe is coming from countries like Namibia, Rwanda, Mauritius etc than a giant lying machine called USA.

Why hasnt US exonerate herself of killing her black population in 2020? Why hasnt US allowed equity in World bank, IMF etc? No black President in these institutions or are they not qualified? What about UN security seat where there's no African representative when the Europe/West has 4 out of 5 permanent seats? What about tax evasion by American companies in Africa? What about killings and destability of nations around the world including our once a beautiful Libya?

Pls stop using our forum defending racist bigots. Anything coming from Trump, an extremely low IQ should not be given audience whatsoever. He's just another name for corruption and bad news. AfDB is an African Bank, no one forced them to bring their insignificant 6percent stake, they should Bleep off

America can't dictate how AfDB should run it's affairs. Every organisation has a laid down principles, and AfDB is not an exception.

We have to align when it comes to best global governance practices with America that has built one of the greatest civilizations on the planet. And not side with African leaders who have built the the worst civilizations on the planet, due to their penchant for not following best global governance practices. I am sure Botswana and Namibia where their leaders practice good governance will align with America

I will always align with the voice that pushes for more accountability, adherence to processes and transparency.

Yo right Mr Ruud. I personally sees no wrong in the United States call for external investigation on Adeshina.

There must be an overwhelming evidence which prompt the US to make the call.

If Adeshina is indeed pure of the allegations, let him prove it.

Yes we are cowards & hypocrites. We need someone as bold & defiant as you. We need you to fix a protest date so we can follow as you lead the line.

So, when are you leading the protest?

Of course, anyone who is against the probe of Adeshina is a bigot. After all there is a popular saying that a clear conscience fears no accusation. I don't know why afonjas are trying to make it look like Adeshina is being victimized. These guys should try and live above bigotry, this is the 21st century already!
