All the functions we discussed are in order. I drove your car from the location I bought it to the warehouse for about 2 hours. Your car was driven from Lagos port to Ikeja, and from Ikeja to Onitsha without any issue. I too will like to know what you have spent 100k on so far.
pls do not send her any penny or money to buy battery... Don't be forced to do that...

It's funny how people are running off because of one client. Just ONE CUSTOMER PERE and op has delivered loads of containers for different clients in the space of a year but one client is making some people run. Very funny people grin

Awwsh!!

This is as a result of not responding to chats. If Amdman had responded well to her on WhatsApp, it won't lead to this.

Learn ur lessons with this by always responding to meaningful/ important chats.

I pray u sort things out with her so that ur thread will move on smoothly without faults.

Her claim that I did not respond to her is incorrect.

As I would always say, we prioritize those that we have collected money from and respond to all their enquiries. We responded to her earlier today before she made her initial post, and we chatted for about 2hrs. It was when we refused to make payment for a new battery that she threatened she would come here and actually did.

As a demonstration of our good faith, we have offered her a full refund for the car, but she has declined it.

And now, after I've spent money working on the car, Amdman is texting me, asking me if I want to collect refund and sell.

I simply laughed. Man got no soul.

All in all. It's well.

On a deeper thought, I think his offer is fair and I'll implore you to give it a thought. I must commend him for this offer.

If within 4days you have actually spent up to 100k on a supposed toks, accept the refund, even if it doesn't cover d full expenses incurred so far, and move on.
You wouldn't know what else would need fixing pretty soon.
It's better you count ur losses when they're minimal.

If you however think moving on with the uncertainty of what might happen next is better, I am being tempted to believe that the car is fine, just that you're annoyed at his poor communication.

Thank you for your concern. So far, you seem to understand my predicament. I worked on the transmission, compressor, bought a new battery, the tire stabilizer keeps hanging out of the car. I patched somewhere under the car that had rust, power steering too had issue. I bought a new oil, Castro synthetic blend, quite pricey not your regular oil though cos thats what the car uses. Mind you, I already paid 22k to Amdman for his mechanic to add it to the car. But he didn't. Amongst others cos I paid for them at once so these are the ones I remembered.

I'm cutting my losses and moving on. I was running away from extra cost by avoiding naija dealers. Never knew I'm entering from frying pan to fire.

You've done quite a lot, I must say.
Buying car in Naija could be worse than 50:50.
Chances are that you would still work on these things. It could have been after a month or 2.
Albeit, it's good to hear you say, you've moved on.
So, is your mechanic now done or still at work?
What's the status now?
After working on these things, the car should be in good condition...

You chat with me for 2 hours and I came here? Lol... I have already started working on that car when I texted you. If you had a better approach or even admitted to what happened, or replied my messages instead of ignoring them, this won't have happened.

I've got no reason to lie and gain nothing with it but hey, it's your opinion. I've made my point. It's left for you to Checkmate your team in Lagos. And how conveniently you Ignored the picture of the filter I posted here shows you know exactly what you are doing.
Improve on your services. Goodluck.

I'm taking it to the pit tomorrow to check if the patch work is OK. Hopefully, I'm not going to work on anything else. At a point I had to ask myself, "did you buy direct Belgium abi naija used car?" it's well.

madam pls collect the full refund if you feel he cheated you or he's a fraudsters... He is willing to do that I think that should count for something. A fraudster is no longer a fraudster if he is willing to refund...

To me you have not been cheated if the option to return the car is still available.

I'm sorry but reading this I think you got taken by a kazeem. These are the most common issues "kazeems" defraud people with. If you really needed work done on all those systems there is NO way 100k would have covered it. It seems you paid something to do absolutely nothing and maybe even mess up the car more. The minute I read "compressor" my blood ran cold that you'd been screwed over by your mechanic.

I know I don't have a car yet but I know the kind of reviews people get when they buy a car in Nigeria. Some people here in Naija will make you feel as if you have been ripped of by the seller, others will just talk down on the car. There are somethings you can manage in the car especially if it's Belgium and some things you need to change. Even cars when boys they carry mechanic go buy still dy get some minor faults. And some Naija mechanics go just tell you some kind things so that you fit spend money. Madam we apologize unbehalf of Amdman.

Oga Amdman, make you dy reply people chat na...nothing pain pass when you see that blue like for WhatsApp and the person no dy reply you. Find time, create time or employ somebody. By now ehn, you suppose get one trusted person for 9ja here when go dy help you run some kind things. Well, you have known your mechanics for 10 years, human beings can change, e fit be say no be your mechanic, e fit be say na him boys no do better work. So please talk your client, she ain't happy. Pet her, she be woman and she trusted you. So abeg, talk to her.

This matter so ehn
We must settle am

Choice of words matters alot. People have repeatedly asked her to drop the information on things she spent those money on.

This would enable the Op to tackle the issue from the perspective she was coming from but it has not been done. Also, the filter issue is a dicey situation. I don't think a mechanic would sacrifice a regular job prospect from op over a filter that is worth less than one thousand. He would simply lose on the long run.

As for the battery issue, I have no comment on that. No idea how things works but few intelligent people has also said that it is obtainable to experience such due to the car being idle all this while.

Hope the mechanic she gave the car to is not giving her fictitious bill in the name of changing some parts of the car while in the actual sense, he or she didn't change anything whatsoever.

In summary, Madam should table all the expenses she has done in a logical manner in order to enable people know how things stands

That's exactly what happened

My first message to you today was at 10.33am (Nigerian time) and we chatted until 12.39pm, and your post here was at 1pm.

In all of that conversation, aside your complaints about the servicing and battery, you never mentioned to me that anything is missing from your car or that you have spent money on fixing anything, Suddenly you have now worked on transmission, stabilizer, compressor, etc? If the car has been sitting in your garage since it arrived, when and where were these fixes done? It doesn't add up.

I've been following this thread since last year and this is the first time I'm actually writing a comment and being on it for this long. For someone like me, there's a reason for that.

Someone texted you asking if you want a refund and you think he has got no soul Just because you bought a car from him when 99% of others are satisfied

You lack courtesy, decorum, and wisdom. Who knows? Maybe one car dealer on Nairaland sent you after amdman to besmirch his name.

Agreed he doesn't reply on time to messages as most people have reported here. He's probably selective on the kind of people he wants to deal with. That's his prerogative!

But labeling someone from whom many people have bought cars from as having no soul shows how uncultured and unrefined you are!

Everything you have said about the 100k is all word of mouth! No picture proof! No proofs of receipts! Nothing! Just word of mouth! You can't even dismiss the fact that the mechanics may have been playing you!

I will contact the admins of nairaland to ban you for such unfounded claims.

Some women are just foolish! Amdman, if you can, just start selling based on referrals from satisfied customers. It's not about the volume but peace of mind.

Work on your turnaround time though!

Do not worry about this one ranting and barking without verifiable proofs. Your own no go pass you! From her choice of words, it is clear that she's not a refined person!

Peace!

The battery is not his fault as a car sitting that long especially with covid delays will likely need a replacement battery. His track record also does not suggest that he would go out of his way to scam you especially for trivial things like an oil change that only costs $19-39 to do here. The biggest thing I see is lack of communication but given the number of views this thread has and the number of requests I suspect he gets, I ain't even mad.

If you're that unhappy return the car as he offered for a refund and I'LL reimburse you what's left over if you provide a receipt. Then I consider the matter dropped.

However, if there is, just think of it as getting your car up to standard. To a state where you won't have to worry anytime you're about to drive out. Don't think of it as Amdman's fault.
Once all of these is over, you'd have great peace of mind about your car.
What about the security of the car, have you checked that too?
