Infiniti QX4 2002.
I had idling issues. Idle bounces up and down.
car was scanned and I was getting P0505.... IACV ish. I bought a another throttle body since they actually come together. It didn't solve my issues. The erratic idle happens whenever it likes and becomes so annoying, car stalls at traffic and rpm rises to 1,500 when restarted. Mechanic told me that the IACV in the throttle body I bought is also faulty like the one I had. He tweaked the throttle body through the hole that comes from the IACV solenoid and blocked it with a paper. (picture attached). Then opened it a little bit to allow small air to pass. My problem was solved. No more erratic idles....but there was another problem.

He set the idle at 1,000rpm in Park/Neutral.
When I engage reverse or D, it comes down to 700. But where I had a problem with that arrangement is that when I put on the AC, car idles at 500 and sometimes go as low as 400-450 and feels like it's about to die. when you put off the AC, the rpm goes to 700 and you are good to go wherever you wanna go. Car drives just fine.

I saved money, went to Onitsha myself, went to my trusted engine seller and he yanked off a throttle body from a VQ35 engine and I went and installed it in my vehicle.
Start up was fine. idled within range (750rpm) but when I put on the AC, I still get the same issue that I had with the first one.

Please help

Erase the codes and drive for a while when the service engine soon light appears, scan again and post codes. We'll tell you what to do next.
Do mention me.

Good Morning Gazzuzz...

I just changed the oil in my car for the first time since I bought it from the US. The owner's service records shows that the previous owner was using Castrol 0w 20 engine oil. The dealer adviced me to use Hardex 0W 20 fully synthetic oil instead of the Mobil 1 which I would have used...it's a 4cyl 2AR Fe 2012 Toyota Camry xle engine with about 123000 miles on it.

Please I implore you, can you recommend a suitable oil brand and would you recommend that I use 5w - 30 instead of 0w - 20 since we dont have extreme temperatures here in Nigeria in favour of higher viscosity.

By all means, you can use 5w30 without any issues. I recommend Mobil 1 USA you can contact me privately if you want it supplied to you.

Boss, if it's a 2zr fe engine is it ok to use 5w-30 too even though the recommended one is 5w-20

A simple Google verification will answer all this.

Let's not be slaves to what is written on the oil cap.

You just don't throw away manufacturers recommendations on a hunch. Bad practice

Often enough a bad IACV tends to damage the ECM. It's good you presumably have a better one now, but the previous one may have caused some damage to the ECM, and if so the new IAVC will, in turn, be damaged by the ECM. I'd advise you check the ECM for damage (burnt chips). If all is well you may then proceed with an idle air relearn, which will establish a proper connection between the new IACV and the ECM.

Appreciate greatly. As regards, the supply I reside in Abuja so I dont know how you want to get that done. I just did the engine oil service using hardex, a little over a week ago but I am considering switching to Mobil 1(as advised) towards the end of next month..

This has been my primary suspicion... IACV chip in the ECM. I will have a look boss. I have already tried doing the idle relearn

Like my boss GAZZUZZ has said earlier a simple Google search can answer questions like this.
5w-30 or 5w-40 will suffice
I use 5w-30 for my customers

Hello everyone, I have a camry 2003 is consuming more fuel, and I have done service with nozzle, so I was told that they is a machine that can be hookup to the car to regulate the fuel consumption. Please how true is that?

There is no machine that is hooked up to a car to regulate fuel consumption. There is only a machine that can scan and tell you or give you a clue why your fuel consumption is high. You can contact me for a full system scan of your car for just 5k on 07060882711, WhatsApp or call
