They are doing this in order to gain your support for the eventual increase to more than N200 anytime the price of crude goes up in the international market by then they will start telling you that they are operating on market forces that they brought it down when prices were down and now that prices have gone up, it is expected for them to also increase it according to market forces

Nigerian politicians are evil.

This is the kind of low demand that will happen once electric cars come fully into play. Na my Niger delta Brothers I pity because our environments would have been badly damaged with no money to remedy it.
