Good morning, for the past few weeks I have noticed a tiny white flash at the edge of my right eye (it's like a white dot), I don't feel any pain and my vision isn't blurry unless i'm tired.

please what could be the cause of this and can you recommend any good optometrist in Ikeja area or egbeda.

do you experience moving particles in your field of view ? Try comparing vision in that eye against the other ; any noticeable difference ?

The white eye gunk, yes I get it mostly when I wake up every few days.

No difference in vision, current typing with my palm over my left eye and type while using the right

But I did notice that with the left things look closer and the right things look a little farther

I am an Eye doctor, I discovered through clinical experience that most Patients don't really know about some basic things and problems affecting the eyesn and these has led to simple eye problems being seen as complicated and frightening to most patients and they don't really know how to go about it. well, there re no drugs to whiten the eyes but if the redness is caused by an inflammation/allergies, it could be taken care of by drugs. Re you around dusty or smoky environ ? What's the nature of ur work if u wouldnt mind answering that here

what was your iop reading ? How old re you? does the blurryness improve at any point in time ? Well , glaucoma drugs doesnt restore vision , it can only help u to preserve what's left

the doctor said I should continue the drugs and he changed my drop to just timolol but still feeling same way. All blurry. he said blurriness ought to have gone by now. he said if there is no improvement for the next 1week, I might go for CT scan. I am depressed with all of this.

so sorry desaie. Do not feel depressed already. It's just a challenge and i'm hopeful u'll get through with it. I'll really need a lot of info to put things together to possibly know what might be the issue with your eyes. Your doc is a professional and i respect his/her opinion but if you are having the finance to seek a second opinion elsewhere, u should give it a try and see if their opinion tallys with that of your doc. Stay strong, u 'll pull through this. Best wishes

Yesterday I want to an optometrist and after some tests he said there was a detachment. She gave me tablets and eyedrops to use for two weeks and said I should come in after two weeks for follow up

are you sure you got right the explanation? If there was a detachment, he wouldnt hv u wait to have you referred to a surgeon. Yes for the eye gunk, drugs could address it but if there is a probably retinal detachment, u'll be needing surgery ASAP to hv it reattached

probably that's where your issue is coming from. Your eyes are most times exposed to irritants which causes the redness. you should try get an occupational safty goggles to help protect your eyes from things that would trigger the redness or u use normal goggles it should help a lot and if it doesnt, you should schedule fr an eye exam

She did a visual test and asked if I got a blow to the head which I confirmed, then she said i came in early and said that she would prescribe me eyedrops and eye supplements to see if it heals and if it’s not resolved in two weeks she’ll refer me to another consultant

hi there. Yeah CVF isnt what is done on a one off basis. You might need to take the test from time to time to tell if there's is further worsening of visual field defect or if it's stable . your doctor might be asking for a repeat in 3 months time just to ensure the results re consistent or to tell if theres a worsening of visual field defect within this period. The other test costing about 40k should be OCT required sometimes to establish a diagnosis of glaucoma. you are likely having a large cup disc ratio which sometimes is associated with glaucoma hence the use of d term 'suspicious disc' and there is need for further investigation to tell if it's actually glaucoma or not requiring these tests you are asked to do . I hope this helps

continue using it. Give it time to work and apply as instructed. Ensure you wash ur hands regularly and use only disposable materials to clean the eyes so you do not keep re infecting the eyes by using same on it , when you apply the eye drop , try close d eye for some minutes before opening. Overtime, u'll be fine hopefully

Yesterday night I had serious fever with hallucinations that disturbed my sleep frequently. I woke up this morning to blurry vision and serious eye pain,the pain has reduced now but my vision is still blurry. Also serious headache though it has reduced now but during the night it was terrible
