Update from Onitsha 2nd Niger bridge. 2nd Niger bridge is a single biggest infrastructure in Nigeria since 1999.

There's also other infrastructures that are connected to the 2nd Niger bridge like the Obosi cloverleaf interchange and Atani road overpass.

This single infrastructure will expand and advance SE region particularly the city of Onitsha economically as the economic hub of the region.

I am not interested in PDP or APC or APGA or YPP, my interest getting the job done for good, development and advancement of Anambra.

This is a gigantic infrastructures. Anambra leads

IGR: Anambra State Govt Engages 200 Community Revenue Officers

Anambra State Government has approved the engagement of two hundred community revenue officers to help address the challenge of illegal agents masquerading as representatives of government.

The Community Revenue Officers will be incharge of revenues of government coming in from their assigned communities.
The chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Anambra State Internal Revenue Service, AIRS, Dr David Nzekwu revealed this while outlining the procedures for the new mobile distribution of integrated bills in Anambra State, which started today.

The mobile distribution of harmonized bills is an innovative system introduced by the AIRS to enable tax payers in the state to pay their tax directly to the state government’s coffers and prevent over and double taxation while guarding against revenue fraudsters, who extort unsuspecting Ndi Anambra and businesses.

Dr Nzekwu, who spoke on ABS flagship breakfast TV show, Good Morning Anambra explained that Governor Willie Obiano approved for the engagement of the community revenue officers to step up the agency’s manpower in transparent revenue collection in the state.

On the new harmonized bills, Dr Nzekwu explained that the new innovation will now integrate business Premises, ASWAMA levy, ANSAA bills, and other bills and levies into one, while payment will still be made through with ANSSID numbers at designated commercial banks.

This is getting set. This project will create another developmental corridor from River Niger all the way to Onitsha-Owerri road. Those lands on those corridors will be highly priced real estate.

What am saying is that Anambra state Government should concentrate on road dualization and expansion.. This will change Anambra state skyline.... Seeing all this single lanes gives us heart break...a whole Nnewi don't have dual lane....ekwulobia nko....but in other States where there are towns like nnewi which are not Even in thesame categories with Nnewi HV dual lanes....Anambra need Governor that will tackle this situation... Expand and dualize our roads...construct more dual lanes to link all our urban towns....creat dual lane that will connect Awka ,Nnewi and ekwulobia...this will aid a lot of towns that lies in between this urban areas to witness urban renewal because of the new road standard..... God give us someone that will dualize our roads and set master plan for upcoming metropolitan towns within our major urban cities.... All major state roads that connect many towns must be dualized..

The owners of landed properties in that corridor will benefit most because value of lands in that area could go up to 100m per plot. Ofcourse it will only be industrial complexes.

Anambra state Government in the person of Governor Willie Obiano should please dualize roads in Anambra state....it will bring city expansion... easy traffic... And make the state to wear a new look...Obiano dualize 3-3 to Aguleri...Oba-Nnewi- Okija Road....Nnewi to Ekwuluobia road..link the two towns with dual lane....we are sick and tired of all this single lanes....let's plan for better development in the nearest future...Anambra is rapidly growing in population... People are building houses illegally near by the roads without given space of 10metre away from the road, do to lack of urban/rural master plan which was supposed to be provided by Anambra state Government.... Is high time our Government begin to dualize our major roads now or else it will be very difficult to do in the nearest future, because a lot of structures occupied space for roads network.... Anambra state is full of beautiful house's...we need roads dualization, expansion and more planting of flower trees in order to bring out the beauty's of all this edifice scattered all over the State...or else our lovely state will turn to concrete war zone with single lanes scattered all over the town's.... Nnewi need roads dualization and good Master plan..same thing goes to all the urban towns in Anambra... For instance, look at the way oba is rapidly growing in population without Government intervention to creat dual lane and mater plan for the builders to follow....the individuals began to build wrongly everywhere without urban city plan, let alone providing space for standard roads and other infrastructures..... this is very bad and exactly the way all the upcoming towns in our lovely State is growing unplanned without provision for dual lane...this same mistake occurred in Onitsha... God pls give us a Governor that will dualize roads and creat working master plan in our urban towns.... A man who will first alter a good plan by providing access for dual lanes and others infrastructures in all the metropolitan towns in our major cities before the individual developer's storms the town...plz someone should send this write up to Obiano...

Thr is no road called nnewi to ekwulobia road in Anambra... Thr is no straight road linking the towns

Paul Ogenyi, firstly you aren't from Anambra, why are you so worried about your neighbour instead of facing your own problems which are even more. Our government is tackling erosion, even particularly the one that drew your attention is also being worked on right now. So what's your headache?

Face your state, we don't need you to come tell us about what our government is doing. You have numerous problems in your Enugu state, ranging from poverty, ofcourse the same erosion is also in your state and other sundry issues to worry about in your state.

Go to Enugu thread and discuss about your numerous state problems there, because your input here is not needed.

Your Enugu state maybe wiped off if issue of poverty is not taken seriously. That's some more serious than even erosion to worry about. Poverty is more dangerous than anything, so I think you should be more worried about it than anything else.

Covid-19 Response: Julius Berger Plc Donates Medical Equipment To Anambra State Government

By Joseph Egbeocha (ABS NEWS)

Julius Berger Plc has donated four hundred pieces of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to Anambra State Government to help it’s fight against the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Presenting the items, the Project Director for Second Niger Bridge, Mr. Friedrich Josef Wieser, said the gesture was in response to the call by the Anambra State Government for assistance in fighting the spread of the virus in the state, noting that Governor Willie Obiano has shown seriousness in the fight against the pandemic.

Describing the Second Niger Bridge as a priority project for Anambra, Delta and the entire country, Mr. Wieser said the bridge and many other ongoing projects in the State will continue to receive needed attention as normalcy returns in the nation.

Receiving the items, the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu said the State Government will judiciously utilize all donations in containing the spread of the virus and improving health facilities in the state, thanking the company for quality jobs and interventions being done on State roads.

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Vincent Okpala, who described the donation as thoughtful, said the PPEs will be of great help, especially now that community search for COVID-19 is being vigorously pursued.

Public Relations Officer of the company, Mr. Ferdinand Ugbomah, and other staff of Julius Berger were present during the donation.

Unnecessary hyperbole with this post!

"Medical Equipment' refers to:
1. Respirators
2. Surgical equipment
3. Autoclave machines
4. incubators etc.

Instead, I saw: Gloves, and plastic gowns (Personal Protective equipment) grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

Please re-title the heading and say Julius Berger donates Gloves, Face masks, and personal protective equipment to Anambra!

You are becoming a nuisance. How many items did you donate to your community or even to your cousins, lets start from there? You expect JB to give Anambra 3rd Niger bridge as support? We are not complaining and our government received their support. You better get out from this thread and face your useless state.

Panic in Imo community as herdsmen kill security operative

Stanley Uzoaru, Owerri

There is palpable fear in Umuanuma community in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State as suspected herdsmen killed a private security operative, Hycinth Ikegwu, at about 6 am on Sunday while returning from work.

A source from the community, who revealed the incident to DAily Sun, said the community suspected herdsmen because of the brutal way he was murdered.

Ikegwu was said to have been brutally chopped with a very sharp objected on the head that caused him to bleed to death.

“We don’t know what happened to him but because of the deep cut on his head, we just have to suspect the herdsmen.”

However, contrary to the claim of the herdsmen attack, another indigene of the community said: “It couldn’t have been herdsmen attack.

“We don’t have issues of herdsmen in our community, so I doubt he was killed by herdsmen, although the killing was too brutal as nothing was taken away from him, including his motorcycle.”

When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Orlando Ikeokwu, said he was yet to be briefed on the incident.

EVEN SPECIAL LANE FOR BUSES.

ONE OF THESE SPECIAL LANE THAT IS LESS CONGESTED SHOULD BE FOR EMERGENCY VEHICLE.

THE JOB IS ALL YEAR ROUND AND IT NEVER ENDS, SO LET US STOP BEING LAZY AND START PUTTING OUR HOUSE IN ORDER.,
