The Greatest Footballer Of The 21st Century Has Been Voted.

In a vote of the greatest football player of the 21st Century, Barcelona's Lionel Messi came out as the winner of the title as he was voted the greatest player admisr other prominent contenders like Cristiano Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, De Lima Ronaldo and others excluding the likes of Pele, Johan Cruyff and Diego Maradona from the list of contenders.

The Barcelona forward started the new decade with a record-breaking sixth Balon d'or trophy, which is so far, since the history of modern football, the highest won by any footballer and he is widely accepted as one of the greatest athletes since the turn of the millennium.

One very prominent contender and former La Liga star/rival of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo was got the highest votes to beat all the other star players he was paired with to reach the finals with Leo who in turn did the same. We didn't expect less as the Messi vs Ronaldo debate has a lot of time raised serious arguments and squabble on social media on who is the G.O.A.T for the past 15 years, when they both came to limelight in the world of football.

But the intensity of the debate on who is better between Messi and Ronaldo declined due to the suspension of La Liga and Serie A , and now seems like a better time to see who the fans really take to be the post - 2000 greatest.

It was a battle of legends as the 21st century greatest players were voted to contest and the voting was organized in the UCL tournament format and it allowed fans to voteon head-to-head match-ups between 16 players until they got to the Grand finale.

There were some perplexing situation as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Samuel Eto'o didn't get to the quarter finals despite winning their round of 16 votes, perhaps they were eliminated based on marginal votes. Another surprising thing was that of the French legend, Zinedine Zidane, who didn't make it to the quarter finals when footballers like Rooney, Neymar and Puyol did, who maybe considered inferior to him despite their own achievements. Nevertheless, fans voted for who they believe is the best among all combinations and below is a cut and dried results of the last eight (Round of till the Grand finale.

Messi came out on top with a comfortable enough difference as he was 12% higher than Cristiano in total of the 100 mark.
