gloryon: Good morning gloryon. Congrats on your ride in advance. Mine is a 2006 xtrail. It has been a lovely ride all the way. I was torn between so many choices before finally settling for the xtrail. I had considered several cuvs and sedans.. But then after a lot of asking around from folks here on nairaland, reading so many reviews online, comparing it with some of my earlier choices and talking to someone I know that drives it here in Nigeria. I settled for the xtrail. It's less than 3 weeks old, so my review would be concise. Based on research I did, and based on my little experience of use. It is a fine crossover with good handling. I love the response when you accelerate, of course it's a 2.5l 4cyl engine with 165hp. Same as the engine on the altima. The fuel consumption is fine. Infact one of the people I spoke with said he uses 10litres for a 100km journey. I'm not big on fuel consumption, so I haven't taking time to study that in details. But I can assure you, it's really good fuel consumption wise. I also discovered it has ample space at the trunk for hauling stuffs. It is a perfect practical vehicle. When it came I had to check the suspension parts and all. My technician says some of the suspension parts may be slightly more expensive than regular parts, but it wouldn't break down ever so often. Lastly, the recommended engine oil weight is 5w30. I chose mobile 1. Nissan AT-Matic D Fluid or Dexron III fluid for re4f04b transmission fluid change, with 9qts dry fill capacity. Also, I guess I read somewhere on a review thread that it does 22mpg city, 29mpg highway and 26mpg combined. I used few cars before now, and I just need something simple to take myself and the family through our daily running. I will say I'm satisfied. Disclaimer: I'm not a car reviewer or technician like the likes of the greats on nairaland. So my review is strictly based on personal experience, other people's experience. and other studies online. Congrats again. |

gloryon: Just seeing this. But it's okay. |
Re: Insulation by gloryon(m): 8:19am On Jun 02, 2020 |
Jcael:Thank you so much. I got a 2005 model t30. Am presently using 2007 honda Accord. Got the xtrail because I believe is cheap and because of the bad roads around my side. Please where you based and do you have a trusted mechanic? Minus the regular servicing, did you change the gear oil? |
Re: Insulation by Jcael(m): 8:32am On Jun 02, 2020 |
gloryon: It's my pleasure. Yes the xtrail is pocket friendly and would give the needed ground clearance. In fact one of my regular routes is really very bad and that was also one of d reasons I opted for a Cuv. I'm based in Lagos. I really don't trust mechanics. I had my own mechanic before. But then an elder bros referred me to another who seemed very truthful, knows what he is doing, and affordable. Infact with his help I was able to do so much and he seems sincere. But it's too early to start concluding, you know how our people are. But he had a solid reference from my bros anyways. I didn't change the gear oil ó. Twas okay and he told me not to bother about it after checking. |

Re: Insulation by Jcael(m): 7:41pm On Jun 02, 2020 |
gloryon: Just remembered this. A known person here on nairaland adviced me to get an obd2 car scanner while I was expecting the car. The mechanic said same thing. So I'd suggest you do same. It will always come in handy. Cheers on your new ride. |
Re: Insulation by gloryon(m): 9:10pm On Jun 02, 2020 |
Jcael:How much is the scanner please? |
Re: Insulation by Jcael(m): 9:44pm On Jun 02, 2020 |
gloryon: I'm still researching a good one for my car. So I can't give u an intelligent answer on that. I know there are Bluetooth obd2 scanners and some scanners are within 10k-30k. Dunno |
Re: Insulation by gloryon(m): 9:57pm On Jun 02, 2020 |
Jcael:Please once you get let me know. I really appreciate your help. Am thinking of increasing the wheels to 17inches. What do you think |
Re: Insulation by Jcael(m): 10:24pm On Jun 02, 2020 |
gloryon: I can't say much on d wheels, I guess you should look into reviews online. My car comes with 17" rims by default cos it's 2006. Nurey should be able to advice on this. On the obd2 car scanner. I guess I'll be going for a wireless obd2 scanner (either Bluetooth or wifi enabled obd2 scanner). I read a certain review that it's better, cheaper and more detailed. I will likely get one before the month runs out. Will keep you posted. Cc nurey |
Re: Insulation by Nobody: 8:47pm On Jun 05, 2020 |
Jcael:i sell scanners. Autel Ms309, 15k per unit. It isnt the bluetooth type, it is however just as portable while still detailed as the larger and more expensive scanners. I refrain from bluetooth types, cos with bluetooth there exist the risk of remote access which can be quite dangerous with more recent and techy cars. |

Insulation means creating a barrier between the hot and the cold object that reduces heat cbd oil side effects transfer by either reflecting thermal radiation or decreasing thermal conduction and convection from one object to the other. Depending on the material of the barrier, the insulation will be more or less effective. |

gloryon: Congrats on the ride. Mine took a long time to arrive also. I'm enjoying the ride, I have had to do fixes here and there, as expected of a foreign used car. But overall I'm enjoying it. |
