I wish you good luck.

About 15 to 18 years ago, a guy came with a tool. He had a newspaper, magazine, radio program, TV program, seminars etc which sold and promoted his Investment tools and gospel.
He had millions of teeming and passionate followers. About 15 years ago people paid N15,000 to hear his stock picks at his sold out seminars that took place all over the country

After people lost money and fortunes following the so called new investment tools and teachings, they are all back to the ancient and time tested tools and teachings

I no mention names ooo. But the guy is mature, sober, humble and wiser. I guess he never experienced a bear market when he named himself the the Oracle. "When the oracle tells you to buy a stock, just buy go and sleep and wake up in wealth".

Greedy people who didn't have the right risk management and prudential guidelines in place, sold there cars, houses to speculate in stocks. In a situation where everyone was doing the same thing, people made 200% speculating on fundamentally weak business but could not book profits until paper profits of 200% turn to paper loss of 90%, majority are still holding on to the carcass 10 to 12 years after

BETWEEN WAPCO AND THE QUEST FOR REWARD...

Some folks will sell off their WAPCO and we shall proceed to march forward.
Unless u know not how to thoroughly interpret a coys financial statement, there are plenty of positives in the company's 2019 YE financial print.
Some key takeaways:

• The group witnessed a remarkable jump accross several key revenue and earnings line. ...with AGPR, AER, EV, ROAA ROAE and EM all showing appreciable improvement.
• The company is currently well hedged against Fx related risk... with a no less than 21% support cushion away from a devaluation.
...the interpretation of this is that unless there's a >21% run in Fx devaluation(on the Naira against the $ and other key currencies), WAPCO is immune to currency risk.
The 3 yr PTR(pioneer tax relief) will likely add over 7B to the group's purse.
• The coy also currently enjoys a favourable grant from the FG via the CBN/BOI at below-market interest rate.
• The merger with one of its subsidiary(Larfage Readymix), a part of the in-house innovative drive by management is expected to save cost of near 2B and boost overall earnings by circa 10-13%.
...management also did well to supplement that with a cut down on admin expense and other opex line by circa 29.3% and 31.5% respectively.

However, I am curious to know more about the company's benefit from its JV asset with CBI(continental blue inv, Ghana) wherein it owns a 35% majority stake.
The group recently granted a $1.39M loan to CBI(a coy with interest in development, financing and operation of cement grinding plant in Ghana) @ an interest rate of LIBOR(1 yr) + 11% p/a, with due date to yr 2023.
CBI Ghana is not a quoted company.
LARFAGE reported the loan @ NAFEX rate in their result, and guided that it earns interest from it on a monthly basis.(NTS in view)

That said, the coys report card shows lots of potential for inherent REWARD and less downside for RISK.

In investing in this coy, the KEY things I was looking out to see, is that magt did infact learn from their misfortunes between 2016 to mid 2018, and is working to ensure a non-repetition on them.
If LARFAGE were to snap it off from their past woes and grow having made worthy moves(delaveraging efforts, key divestiture etc) to a great point of inflection, then there was need to set in motion a good mechanism to;

1) OPTIMIZE COST(both from their expense and interest bearing line)
2) BE INNOVATIVE so recent efforts on restructuring can yield the needed fruits.
3) GROW EARNINGS.

How have they(management) faired on all 3 lines?
Well, looking at their FY 2019 FP, I'd score them a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10.

More work needs to be done though.
The report highlights clear possibilities of a great REWARD for a mid to long term investor.

HOLD !!

Even you @onegentleguy made a jest of my buy recommendation on UACN last year.

So make all of una just kuku chill.

Is this how u behave?
I... made a jest of ur post on UACN? Can u put up the said post.

My dear, u were NOT even "in the picture" when I gave a BUY recommendation for UACN here.
...at the time the stock was trading for btw N4.50 and N4.65.
At least u even admitted it urself when u said u gave a buy advice @ N6, and a hold until N24.

Before ever ur VAP saw UACN, we had long spotted the VALUE drive in the asset and aligned accordingly.
...so don't attach so much importance to urself.

Pls kindly look up the word HUMBLE in the dictionary. ...u'll find that its after the word, DISCERNMENT, but before the word SUCCESS.
There is a reason why u need the 1st word to help drive what u have with the 2nd to achieve the last.
...that has been my guiding principle.
I'll advise u learn from it.

Ten percent is okay. A popular lawyer got a dividend of N70 million last week from Okomu Oil and paid withholding tax of N7 million.

If he earned N70 million as salary, he would have paid up to N15 million or more as PAYE

It means trading by yourself if you have enough chance to do it.
It aids faster execution, you can buy and sell by yourself.
Morgan is faster and preferable brokerage firm when it comes to this.

Thanks so much.

please how can i transfer my shares to another broker and is the process seamless? I've had it with afrinvest... maybe they don't exist to serve the retail investors. I've been trying to sell Mtn since morning it has been hanging, customer care no answer meanwhile they charge more than 1% for nothing. What nonsense. Maybe they want the price to reduce before they sell
