Birth certificate indicating you are Ghanaian still remain the legal tender for passport and national identity registration. Why is it lacking to be used in voters registration. The only authentic instrument to be used for national identity and passport remain your birth certificate . And if anyone acquired it illegally, that is because of the loose system not because it is not authentic. The institution mandated to do the work should rather focus on cleaning their mess not bringing their loophole into what is so much sensitive like voter registration.

The purpose of iPac is to establish differences and iron it out . EC is not a dictatorship institution, they cannot act against the wish of the populace especially when such division arises. Infact , i will even suggest chiefs should be carry along in their discussion. The country has a lot of stakeholder . No dictatorship law can survive in a democratic society.

If togolese find their Way into the register, that is because of a weaker institution and not because the system is not authentic. ...


The identity card already is just a secondary instrument. You even need birth certificate to acquire it. I maintain the decision by EC has more to do with politics rather than cleaning .
