ucheuzor1:.. Guys pls listen to what uche has said oo. Make we nor go dey hear stories that touch the head oo. .. First thing, know what you want to specialize in, then you will know what programming language, frameworks, or libraries to learn. .. I see some people say" I want to do mobile app dev, web dev, machine learning, data science" let me tell you something , that sh*t ain't possible. You can't learn it all, stick to one first, learn it to the zenith, probably in future you can switch to other aspect. #las_las_we_go_dey_alright 4 Likes |

lifeisfirst:C++ is one of the most difficult languages for beginners but it's one of the easiest if you truly understand why you to want to learn the language. Just commit yourself to it, at least 1 hour per day. Check YouTube, download textbooks. I'm using about 7 textbooks. I've spent almost 2 months on Loop alone, I'm not in a hurry I'm taking my time to understand it before moving to the next chapter. Solve examples, re-write the code and find another way if possible to write the code again Hook up 08062128170 1 Like |

ucheuzor1: I understand! Thanks for the heads-up but I already know it would take years to become proficient in these languages, after Java the other languages would not take much time. What matters is the determination and focus bro Am taking it one at a time.... As for DS & A, it's a career long thing |

JahBwoy: C# is a fast evolving, awesome language. If you think you want to make it your primary language, it is worth your time and effort. On crawling social media page. Yes it's possible, but with a lot of efforts, most of these sites require login authentication and that's where the first issue may arise. Instead of crawling the likes of Twitter or Facebook, they provide public APIs instead for any site tester who wants to work on their dataset, you can take this as an alternative to crawling their sites. Like I've said, it is very very possible to crawl those sites |
Re: Programming Learning Challenge June. by miketayo(m): 10:16am On Jun 05, 2020 |
JahBwoy: C# is mainly for enterprise applications, that's y you won't hear much about it. but there are jobs for C# developers in Nigeria. if u want to use ur skills working for an IT firm, learning C# would be best for u. but if u are a freelance developer using C#, u will sweat before u get a contract. Also as windows phone is dead it killed part of the usefulness of the lang. But if u find a job as a C# programmer the pay is massive. |

olioxx: You and ucheuzor1 have both stated the reality. In fact, that's why I have decided to stick to 0thon and R, majorly for data science. I have a knack for data science, and I don't mind making a career switch. The thing is, before you pick any language to learn, first of all decide which field you have passion for and what necessary languages are required in such field in programming. |
Re: Programming Learning Challenge June. by AududuNine11: 10:50am On Jun 05, 2020 |
Spman: Learning in order to be able to use the knowledge to earn in future is good, but, let passion be your most driving force, or else.... |

JahBwoy: Hahahaha. Scraping using powershell. Seems like a lot of parsing to do. I use python or javascript (node) for my webscraping needs. That's what drew me to programming. I got tired of comparing prices across different ecommerce sites when buying gifts for my girl. So i created a script that i can put it some configuration for any ecommerce site. E.g the search field id, or xpath. So when i run the script, it searches all the ecommerce sites i passed in the config and returns the results as json out. I have not built a UI yet. But i hope i get to it. If you are getting into the devops side of things. I would recommend python or go. That's what most organisations use for their devops tooling. Python is by far more popular but i have started seeing go pop up here and there. Please and Please learn Containerization. That's where the goldmine is. Every modern devops shop uses containers. Docker and Kubernetes. I am also learning Azure with the Andela ALC program. I hope it doesn't bore me as its mostly starting out videos. I prefer getting my hands dirty. I don't know much about c#. Why the interest? |
