I love what Gov Ugwuanyi is doing. This will help elevate Nsukka to a true alternate city in Enugu state. Every state deserves at least 2 liveable decent cities.

However, What the governor needs to do now is to open up a GRA Nsukka with solid dual carriage access roads. So that private developers can begin to develop the neighborhood. That way, you can have an area where people can build decent houses and live in Nsukka. Instead of always needing to live in Enugu if you want a nice area.

One thing Onitsha managed to do in the old Anambra state was to also have a great GRA which enabled great transporters and businessmen the ability to live in a decent neighborhood while running their companies and businesses in Onitsha. it also helped Onitsha to attract and keep big time business men.

The problem of Nsukka is not really lack of government presence; it has more to do with the citizens.
The locals aren't enterprising enough in nature and they are averse to foreign agents of development, preferring to hold onto tiny swathes of land than leasing to investors.
You only build GRA's and decent estates when a city is thriving and expanding quickly so the need arises for an organized pattern of building.
Nsukka is neither thriving nor growing, just that same old university town.
Remove UNN,Enugu road and ogige market and what do you have left in Nsukka?

There is a GRA in Nsukka and the area is developing at a fast rate. I will try and get some pictures from that area.

You see how you ended making a fool of yourself due to hate, There is a big GRA in Nsukka since developing at very fast rate..

When it comes to enterprising are you more than an average Nsukka man..maybe you didn't know that people like peace mass, ifesinachi, romchi motors,Royal mass transit, even Wilson groups the maker of bestie noodles, solive oil and toiletries with factories in Nsukka are all Nsukka men.which person from your village is more enterprising than those men. Most of the big entrepreneurs from Enugu are mostly from Nsukka..how many have your village produced.. When it still comes to education, the most educated part of Enugu state is still the Nsukka zone..

Don't let bitterness and envy kill you on time

If we took landscaping seriously especially in Igboland where we have adequate rainfall for flowers, trees, and grass to blossom, our projects would be resembling American projects.

Unfortunately, very few of us know that landscaping could sometimes be more important than the concrete structure itself, in determining the beauty of the edifice. I pray we change the culture of not landscaping and leaving things bare, as if we are a wartorn country where nobody should waste time on beautification with trees and flowers.

Based on our weather and adequate rainfall, there is truly no reason why we cannot replicate the type of tropical environment below.

Nice pictures so far.

Gburugburu is doing well but he still needs to do better most especially on the issue of ESUT.
I am tired of hearing about the continuous balkanization of that institution by successive governments of the state.

The plan of moving College of medicine Parklane to Nsukka its initial site is a nice suggestion but that college at Parklane has passed that stage of being tossed around across the state.

Instead of its fragmentation why not create a new 'University of Medical Sciences, Nsukka' (Enugu state now needs two states universities) where special medical and allied health courses will be offered just like they have it in Ondo state and Rivers State (although private). That will make the state, one of the three states having a Specialized medical university. There is a whole lot to gain.

the Igbo-ano specialist hospital can be made a teaching hospital or better still having the current General Hospital Nsukka (which was the initial teaching hospital for ESUT) as a teaching hospital won't be bad either.

I know Gburugburu is a listening governor with media aides in this platform, please take this into consideration.

Yeah and there is no resources for that. Replicating Parkline at Orba as currently proposed will consume about 20 billlion naira minimum.

He should focus on opening up the rural communities as well as upgrading facilities in Nsukka and other towns.

49km Udenu Ring Road- One of the most ambiguous road project by the Ugwuanyi Administration. It starts from Ohom Orba junction – Imilike Ani – Ezimo Uno – Ezimo Agu – Imilike Ogbodu Aba – Obollo Afor. Some Communities in that axis have not seen a tarred road before now

Governor Ugwuanyi should turn the Orba specialist hospital into a full fledged School of Health Sciences... Not as an appendage to ESUT...

It's evolution will be a gradual process in order to contain costs. He does not have to pay for all the infrastructural development now..., just get it approved and functional as subsequent administrations will improve on it.

I thought as much.

Having a medical state university is the best option. Since Nsukka has been denied medical institutions both from UNN and ESUT.

Hope you are aware that the teaching hospital for UNN was initially at Obukpa?

Exactly the wasteful mindset that makes Nigeria to be full of uncompleted projects.
I would have ignored this comment, but it's typical of what has helped make Nigeria such a huge mess. Biko nu, what is wrong with how our people reason?

You want a teaching hospital in Nsukka that isn't an annex of ESUT. Its not an annex of UNTH. You do not have any university in mind that the hospital will use to train doctors, but you miraculously think that other Governors will develop it for you?

Sometimes, I wonder if people just type things to help deceive the government into wasteful escapades. Nigerians are so wasteful of their resources. That is why despite our oil, other countries still manage to live better standard of living than Nigeria.

What? You mean his home town right? He should forget playing politics, the state is BIGGER than him, he should forget those his kinsmen urging him to bring all to Nssuka (Enugu North). They may not sustain the aftermath. Political gladiators like Ekweremadu, Gil Nnaji, Chimaroke Nnamani, Dr. FSA Uzor, Fr. Ejike.Mbaka and a host of others are monitoring these events.

Stadium, Secretariate annex, opening up all the towns with dual carriages (non in other zones) where nothing is happening. Gov. Ugwuanyi may think its not noticeable but he also know he is not a strategist when it comes to Enugu politics. Coming years will settle the scores for them.

As for Rivers State, there own will be bloody come next election.

Like you said it is a mindset..
The same mindset in which citizens are cultured to believe that a school of health sciences or a university of health sciences must be attached to a UNIVERSITY to be functional...

Here's is another differing mindset.
1. The university or school can recruit students who already have a prequalification ( e.g. B.sc...Phd) in some needed science courses irrespective of school attended.
2. The the pre-qualified students can then take additional test and interviews before final admission.

Secondly, abandoned projects is a problem of individual leadership deficit not a culture...

Thirdly the issue of abandonment will not arise as it will have political consequences... Nsukka zone will demand for it as a condition for support..

There are no institutions anywhere that has all it's facilities build out before commencement..

Like I pointed out earlier it's a gradual process.

Thank you
