What makes him "unlike" Firmino?
How many goals and assists does be provide every season ?
Aguero scores more than him,yet Pep prefers him to Aguero most times, why??

Aguero is an experienced world class striker, which coach wouldn't prefer him to jesus? Mind you he has more minutes played than jesus and has also started more matches than him

Jesus is a proper striker, no sane coach will start firmino ahead of him

Gabriel Jesus unlike firminho scores goals and also assists and he's also productive from the wings he will definitely bench firmino if he makes the mistake of signing with Man City
of course Jesus will bench firmino at city, but it'll not be for footballing reasons.
Gabriel Jesus dey bench Aguero na.
So forget the talk, nobody can bench Guardiola's favorite son goals or no goals he'll play.

He indeed was the Weapon of Mass Destruction. He had a very high ceiling but just didn't reach those super heights. He had a very decent career for us and at club level but he could have been much much more. The talent was there. He could have been world class. In all, Martins was a real baller and one of the few players of that Mid-late 2000s era and early 2010s that I looked to for the Super Eagles when it came to tight games and tight corners. He was always one goal or one burst of lightening pace or super turn away from turning things around.

First time I watched Obafemi Martins. The trick with his back to the ball was insane, coupled with the fact it was Paolo Maldini (one of the best defenders in the History of the game) he beat with that move to score.

Much respect.

Jesus is the Guardiola kind of striker, not necessarily a proper striker, Guardiola likes small, skillful stikers that can also defend from the front.
Jesus can not survive in a mourinho or Alex Ferguson team.
When you want to mention "proper strikers"
You mention people like Harry Kane, Lewandowski, Diego Costa, Higuain ,Lukaku....
No be smallies like Jesus.

I have been wondering maybe chidera ejuke ia a false 9 like firmino or dybala or messu. Players like this can play anywhere in attack amd create and score at the same time. He might be underrated
Players like this blur the line between attacking midfield and stricker. This is just my opinion

He is a natural left winger. Although he can play anywhere across the front line (in fact he has 2G/A in 2 games as a striker), he will fizzle out in games if not played in his natural position.

Sadio Mane can play anywhere across the front line (has 2 goals in 1 as a striker), but will easily disappear in games if not deployed on the wings.

As good as Messi is ,he is always deployed as a winger so he can cut inside.

More prolific in the Bundesliga and playing in a particular type of system. Those attributes do not automatically transfer to Liverpool in a different system and league.

I remember Keita left RB Leipzig after 3/4 very consistent outstanding seasons in the Bundesliga and came to Liverpool with a transfer close to €60 million also with great expectations.

What was the result he is simply not up to scratch after two seasons. And they are looking to offload him.

It should be warning to players that after the big money comes the expectations of performances.

The requirements of each league and team is different as well as the style of play and system. Can the player adapt and thrive the big question.

Someone that has completed just one 90 mins this season and still has two MOTD awards is "not up to scratch"? Brother, please.

So Tega Abrahams is a youth player that is untried and unproven in the EPL.

It seems you have some dislike and prejudice towards Tega Abraham.

Because in reality Tim Werner is totally untried and untested in the EPL. Bundesliga is not on the same quality or competitiveness of the EPL.

It seems you have some like and partiality towards Abraham.

So you think Tim is coming to Epl to be benched by Abraham?

But then again his primary job as a striker is to score and assist while Henderson and Wijnadum should be doing the tackling in center midfield

Even though Klopp might probably start firmino, Timo Werner would have played his position like a champ and shown firmino how to convert Arnold and Robertson's crosses

Teams will rather have a proper goal contributing striker than one that tries to gather defensive stats

Do you know that this is the same reason why Osimhen is one of the most sought after strikers in the world?

Very important aspect of a forward.

Ogbeni Werner good Abeg

You always think epl is heaven and earth ,look at how you are playing down the bundesliga

Hope you watched how leipzig schooled your Tottenham ?

If the epl is that hard as you have always been saying ,why is it that 70 percent of players that joined from Seria A and laliga have been successful ?

Lewandowski, lukaku are just as skillful as Jesus and they're proper strikers, sure guardiola likes skillful strikers but then again a striker that gives result will be taken over a skillful one

Mourinho likes a Target man strikers that doesn't track back to try and defend when they lose position and know how to take chances when they come, not many strikers have that ability

Osimhen and Firmino play different type of football

Osimhen is an attacking threat that scores as a proper 9 that cannot be said for firmino whose stats are his passes and tackles

I've not seen Osimhen play as an attacking midfielder but I trust he will play it that's how versatile he is but I cannot say the same for firmino playing as a proper striker

"Firmino whose stats are his passes and tackles" has 24G+A this season. Firmino is an Advanced Forward, he has to create chances and score goals. Osimhen is a poacher has to just score.

You are right Elyte man. Reason why the name Fabrice Akwa cannot be erased from my memory.

I remember Martins' debut for us against Republic of Ireland in 2004. He totally obliterated their defence with his lightening speed and quick change of direction. Indeed missing that 2006 WC was a major blow.
