You're very petty. Are you seriously advising him to switch from mineral to synthetic in order to spite Gaz? We both know it's only a matter of time before that abused engine dies a slow and painful death at the hands of those detergents.

Don't join the bandwagon. I don't fit any imagined classification. Spite Gaz ...y?

Often enough a bad IACV tends to damage the ECM. It's good you presumably have a better one now, but the previous one may have caused some damage to the ECM, and if so the new IAVC will, in turn, be damaged by the ECM. I'd advise you check the ECM for damage (burnt chips). If all is well you may then proceed with an idle air relearn, which will establish a proper connection between the new IACV and the ECM.

Ic17 responsible for the control of the idle isn't burnt. The entire ECU looks intact (by eye judgement). I sniffed it..... No burnt smell detected. Although I read in one Pathfinder group that an ECU can look perfect and yet fried.

Infiniti QX4 2002.
I had idling issues. Idle bounces up and down.
car was scanned and I was getting P0505.... IACV ish. I bought a another throttle body since they actually come together. It didn't solve my issues. The erratic idle happens whenever it likes and becomes so annoying, car stalls at traffic and rpm rises to 1,500 when restarted. Mechanic told me that the IACV in the throttle body I bought is also faulty like the one I had. He tweaked the throttle body through the hole that comes from the IACV solenoid and blocked it with a paper. (picture attached). Then opened it a little bit to allow small air to pass. My problem was solved. No more erratic idles....but there was another problem.

He set the idle at 1,000rpm in Park/Neutral.
When I engage reverse or D, it comes down to 700. But where I had a problem with that arrangement is that when I put on the AC, car idles at 500 and sometimes go as low as 400-450 and feels like it's about to die. when you put off the AC, the rpm goes to 700 and you are good to go wherever you wanna go. Car drives just fine.

I saved money, went to Onitsha myself, went to my trusted engine seller and he yanked off a throttle body from a VQ35 engine and I went and installed it in my vehicle.
Start up was fine. idled within range (750rpm) but when I put on the AC, I still get the same issue that I had with the first one.

Please help

confirm 5v and ground from IACV Harnesses

Well, you may re-install the ECM and ensure that all relevant wiring is intact. What's your relearn procedure?

Appreciate greatly. As regards, the supply I reside in Abuja so I dont know how you want to get that done. I just did the engine oil service using hardex, a little over a week ago but I am considering switching to Mobil 1(as advised) towards the end of next month..

Mobil 1 and other brands of 5w-30 oils are readily available in Gudu.

Street hawking? I've never experienced this before so I wouldn't know about that. Why would anyone part with money to buy Mobil 1 from street hawkers when you can simply walk into the shopping complex and make the necessary enquiries?

I've bought various brands of oils from 2 shops and I was satisfied.

Good morning guys. Please what could be wrong? The fuel light on my car dashboard won’t turn off even with over 30ltrs in it. Also the gauge is not going up anymore. I noticed it yesterday.

Also, anyone with an idea of how much the front bumper of a Hyundai Accent 08 will cost?

Dear Gazzuzz and other auto guru
I need your informed inputs.
I drove into my house this evening after visiting a relation.
I parked the car in. Then tried restarting to repark properly.
The car won't start but the check light comes on as if it wants to start.
Pls I need ur 3rd eyes here as I have to attend to an important meeting tomorrow morning
It looks like a rewiring issue if I can suggest but I don't know what to look out for.
Pls kindly assist.
Car is Toyota Corolla sports 2006.

Boss good day
Can you reach out to the wiring from the starter motor to the battery and see if there is broken harness or fried wired. And if not since the check engine light is illuminated can you do quick scan. It will make the job easier boss

From what I worked on with RAV4 that is an indication of a bad fuel gauge and prolly your filter will likely be affected

I will try,
My wife said she heard a sound like a " cut-sound"-(thats the way she put it) at the time I was to restart the car as she was standing close to the bonnet.
It's late and raining also, I will try that tomorrow.
Thanks sir.

So many variables. Fastest check as previously mentioned by others is a scan. Does it make any noise at all and is it a "click"? If it is, you need a new starter.

I noticed that the water level in my radiator has gone very low which has never happened b4.
I recall I entered a very bad pothole yesterday night(I was going in very slowly) but it was deep
Could it be my car was overheating due to contact at the base with a bad portion of the road.
Also I noticed water coming out from a small hose which was unusual.
Picture not clear so sorry. I am in a hurry

Is it engine rolling but non starting or non rolling of the engine at ( non cranking ). clarify pls
Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by Lush100(m): 7:28am On Jun 07, 2020
No it's not rolling.
My radiator water gone down
I topped it with water to see if it would drain probably there was a leak but suprisingly I wasn't up to a half a pint it filled up.
It had be never been this low(I could see the base of the radiator handle where the water is poured into.
It made a blitz sound this morning (not a click sound but like when 2 wires are touching) when I tried to start.
I will buy a car scanner and post the codes.
I am sourcing for a car I will use temporarily.
Thankfully I am not going to work on Monday.

Starter without seeing it. Don't let a rewire get their hands on it.

Your car is overheating and low coolant too?

I doubt if scanning will pull any code ,look a good electrician to troubleshoot the issue for you and i don't see any relationship between coolant going down and issue of non starting for that model of Corolla.Fix your non starting issue first and address low coolant next .
