Is there anything in asaba to compare with Benin. I am from delta but asaba is just a glorified capital.

Asaba is just like one local govt area in Benin...Benin city is almost five times the size of Asaba....so you don't expect dem to develop equally especially with this corrupt govt in Nigeria...

Check the allocation of the two state and you would see for yourself

I do not think we would have a fair assessment comparing Benin and Asaba. It is not an apple for apple. Asaba is relatively a new state capital and we should expect to see new city planning and structures which wouldn’t be in Benin. Benin is in the league of Ibadan, Enugu, and Kaduna. These are the regional capitals of Nigeria in the 60s.

Asaba amaka

Asaba is a modern city in the south south with a fairly good road network. It used to be a small town until more states were created and Asaba became a capital city and it witnessed rapid development thereafter. Most of the roads and infrastructure in place were created after the town was upgraded to its capital status.

Benin has been in existence for over 800 years so, you cannot compare the two. It used to be the capital of an old region and state as well. If you talk of number of infrastructure, benin has more. But comparing the modern status, I give it to asaba because most of those infrastructure seen in asaba are not up to 30 years old.FMC asaba easily came to mind. Benin has more of the brown-roofed ancient structures.

Benin City ought to be with par with Amsterdam but it has been completed turned into the the biggest village in the world since year 1897. No thanks to Britain and Nigeria political wicked leadership.

I'm a Benin man but trust me benin has lost its beauty gradually.
when oshiomole restored it's beauty in 08/09 then this comparison would gain weight as some of these photos are not recent.
