This issue is quite disturbing, it proves that foreign powers do aid and abate corrupt African government officials.

I believe deiziani did this with the aid of the British government.
It's no surprise that many of our corrupt officials seek solace in the UK once they are being hounded.

Why blame the British Govt? Blame the Dominica president who sold her citizenship so she can hide under their extradition laws. This is not news BTW, it's been reported on since 2 years ago.

No time for unnecessary back-and-forth. Reading and critical thinking are the hardest tasks for an ignorant mind.

Even old men and women with different businesses and engagements still find time to read important books to continue educating their mind and keep their brain sharp.

What excuse does a young man/woman have not to read good books and broaden their horizons?

One can learn important life experiences, which took some people many years to gain, within a couple of hours of reading books.

Again, no time for unnecessary back-and-forth.

But how do we reconcile the fact that the great OtemAtum himself said Jesus was fictitious and never existed while his student the erudite Gensteejay said he learnt from OtemAtum's book that Jesus came to Ife to learn magic from Eshu.

What a conundrum.

I read the piece yesterday. I can't comment on something I only read in the media without knowing the affected person (who's now late) personally.

Media stories can't always be trusted.

When Da Grin died some years ago, some people accused him of belonging to some cult or doing some diabolical things to get rich and famous quickly.

Before Ayefele had kids, many people had accused him of sacrificing his backbone/manhood in a ritual to become rich and famous.

In fact, several musicians and successful people both in Nigeria and overseas have faced similar accusations about engaging in one diabolical activity or the other.

Some even claim Drogba did voodoo to become a successful footballer in Chelsea.

Media reports and rumors can't always be trusted.

In Majek Fashek's case, I can't comment on someone I only see in the media, who I didn't know personally.

If you check my past posts on this issue, I clearly stated that Jesus Christ isn't the same person we've in the Bible in reality.

Most times I use Yeshua (or Faulkin), not Jesus. That's why I say "Yeshua (who religionists call Jesus)".

I have said that a number of times in the past. That's clear enough.

In an old post (I think last year), I clearly stated Yeshua was a real person, and that Jesus is a fictitious character.

You need to start reading again what you have read, for better understanding.

I don't need to read any fvcking book again to know that Jesus never came to Nigeria to learn magic under Eshu as you ignorantly boasted that day.

Nobody is against reading. But don't let one Otem, feed you nonsense. Also read to understand next time, so to avoid mistaking Faulkin for Jesus.

I don't think we can place expectations on people who've been brutalised for 400 years to change mindset so easily. My own focus is that we as Africans do not have to take on their own mindset of repression as we have not been through the same oppression, and this is what I was trying to impart on Donjazet.

It cost nothing for us to empathise with the struggles of our brothers, but we cannot imbibe the same psychological aftereffects. Where we grew up in a family units for example, their family units were destroyed over hundreds of years such that for example, a child born to a slavewoman and a free black man reverts to the mother and becomes the property of the slaveowner. Likewise, families were ripped apart and sold willynilly to the point almost no Akata then could point out his father, and many could not point to their brothers and sisters. Booker Washington made a point just after abolition that a white boy feels the expectations of the family unit, even the expectations of cousins and distant relatives and that drives them to succeed whereas a black boy is usually alone except his mum and is only answerable to himself.

So we as Africans having not gone through that generational experience cannot take on the same angst/hopelessness and resentment into our psyche cos our circumstances are different.

Whereas every gesture or every badge feels like a symbol of repression to them, someone like me can even stop and chat with a Policeman, whereas when a Caribbean guy sees a Policeman, he is already on edge and ready for anything. That's how two 18 year old girls in UK who organised BLM postests came out to say they are more scared of dying from Police than Covid-19 and Police could kill them at any time. I said na wa oh, even for UK sef people feel like this? This one done reach persecution complex.

I can't explain some things in detail due to time constraints.

Typing long posts takes time.

In case, some people see my stance on this issue as unclear. I think I've now clarified my stance on this issue as of now.

The Book of Universal History discusses how Faulkin (or Yeshua) became Jesus Christ that people are worshipping today.

It traces the two words, "Jesus", and "Christ", in the name, "Jesus Christ", to their roots. No time to go into details.

That was why I recommended that anyone that's interested in the book to get it from Otem to learn more.

Even the etymology of yESHUa or yESHU that I mentioned the other day, according to the literature, was very short. The book actually explained lots of activities of Yeshua (who Christians call Jesus) in ancient Africa, especially in ancient Egypt and the area now called Nigeria.

When one reads the full histories in the book, it becomes clearer.

Apart from the history of Yeshua, the literature even took the time to reveal the origin of many prophets of the Bible and Qur'an, and traces their names to their roots (etymology).

Things not documented in both religious books.

Better to read the PDF version of that book and not the thread on Nairaland as many important parts of the literature on the thread have been hidden by mods.

When one learns fuller stories of these things, they look more reasonable and plausible.

Same way that fool believes that he was superior to the guard simply because he was born there.

It's obvious that what is at play here is a display of pure arrogance and feeling of mental superiority.

Well said. It is possible for us to tow a different path while appreciating the extent of the trauma suffered by African-Americans through 400 years of slavery and Jim Crow.

I agree with everything you've said, and this is exactly what I was also trying to explain that day, especially when I started talking about 'types of blacks'

It's also why I highlighted how while black politicians were outside carrying placards, the Indians had infiltrated government, which is why current UK government today has 4 Indians in key cabinet posts, while black representation is still 0%

The attitudes will not change easily but it must change. Thats why I'm watching JayZ very closely. He's pushing the political change and financial clout angle very heavily

BLM riot will be done in a week or two, and everything will go back to normal for white people.

It would be a huge shame if the status quo remains for dudu as well.

They will soon come and tell you how the security guard doesn't understand racism, and how anybody from Nigeria with access to internet can read about racism and understand it.

This is an African American telling an African IN America that their culture and history are different enough, that the he doesn't even consider the African security guard to be Black.

Only God knows what the akata will think about the ones on Nairaland.

Anyway, back to the video. I'm sure it doesn't surprise anyone who lives abroad.

Add this to your knowledge of racism.

Copy the link and search, I don't know why it's not giving a direct display.

This link does not give us the origin of the word Akata, just highlights the negative way some Twitter users use it.

I believe Akata, just like Jamo, Chinko, Oyinbo, Dudu, Bongo or Charlie is not a derogatory phrase, just a short-form we invented to add to our pidgin and can be used either way.

I don't know why the writer linked it to slave trade, as if by saying that because Nigerians sold slaves and they use the word Akata, it must automatically be a racist term. As far as Nigerians of those days were concerned, taking someone as a slave was not seen as a sign of superiority. Slaves were not seen as lower breeds but immediately allowed to rise into positions based on their ability. Coming from Ijaw Kingdom where we make slaves part of the family and slaves have full inheritance in their masters property, I find this characterisation absurd. Most of our Kings were descended from slaves having been assimilated into the family while some slaves were made Kings themselves like Jaja of Opobo as the society was meritorious rather than hereditary. For example, my grandmums' grandad was a slave, while my grandads dad was a slave trader and slave owner, yet they allowed their children to marry cos we do not differentiate between slave and freeborn in Nigeria. There is no tribe in Nigeria that kept slaves that would point to a dichotomy in their society between slaves and freeborn.

No, there is a big difference. As I stated earlier, this is just pure arrogance.
This arrogance I believe stems from simply being richer than the guy and perhaps better educated.

You can deduce this by the line of questioning he threw at the guard;
Where is your badge?
Do you know what a badge or ID is?
Do you know the name of your boss?
Why are you following me?

Many people here irrespective of tribe or country must have looked down on some very poor people at one point of our lives. Either by words or actions. I bet you that the arrogant guy would not behave like that towards a high class African or celebrity.

But, a racist would still look down upon any black irrespective of class, wealth or status, I mean it's still peddled around that Michael Jackson, one of the world's greatest artist had to literally change his skin colour in order to escape the systemic racism.

As I said, the motivation behind the arrogance of this fellow and that of a racist is extremely different.

How do you know the recorder is richer or more educated? That you are shopping in a store does not make you richer than the person working in it.
There are shoppers in Shoprite who do not make what Shoprite salesgirls and security guards make
The African guy is well educated, from the logic he applied to the way he constructed the argument shows that he is very intelligent. His argument immediately disarmed the video guy. The argument that we as human all have different history but your own history doesnt make my own history inferior to you is a very sound one. He is probably a graduate who just landed in Yankee and started hustling while trying to get his feet on the ground, In 5yrs time this guy might be making over 100K a yr
The recorder just saw someone by the looks got pissed that why is this man here trying to monitor me and brought out his agelong bias. That is why those poor Africans who live in poor black neighbourhoods are called Booty scratcher by their fellow black people

Do you think if this same video man sees an Obi, Kwame or Olu driving a range rover and blasting his Phyno and Olamide he wont have the same bias? That you just came from Africa to enjoy the sweat of his ancestors

Yes, you have pointed out the fact that human beings always have forms of biases and hatred among themselves and that is true.

However, no motivation for a bias or hatred towards another group is as widespread and global as racism.

What you are doing by outlining other smaller problems of human society is that you are diminishing the effects and impact of racism.

No other form of systemic hatred comes close to that of racism so you have to stop comparing racism with other smaller forms of humanity's bias towards each other.

So you think it's just in the last 8 weeks since your post that Ronaldo made the money that pushed him over the 1 billion mark?

Oga go and read the article you posted. If you don't understand the article you posted with your own hands then I can't help. Ronaldo is not a billionaire.
