These guys are jealous of NIGERIA on Twitter.

If the truth is said, the black governments have actually tried even though there have been glaring failures.

I remember when I was in the University of Lagos in the 90s. In the early 90s, there were lots of South African students and they looked wretched. It wasn't their fault. Apartheid was such a cruel system that it existed to break and crush the blacks of South Africa and it did. Many were alcoholics and Nigerian students generally looked down at them. They had not walked a mile in their shoes.

Now, I'm sure that image won't exist today. Black South Africans have moved up the financial ladder in droves and the economy and country haven't fallen apart.

Truth be told, South Africa needs seriously economic reform if it is to achieve its full potential and escape anaemic growth which it is now plagued with. Labor laws needs to be made flexible so jobs can be created in abundance. Privatisation of giant South African giants should be implemented with gusto.

Most importantly, government should tackle crime. It is inexcusable that crime stats in South Africa are embarrassingly high. It has become a gangsters paradise and it sucks many foreigners in. It is time South Africa tamed these goons the way America tamed the Wild Wide West!

Fair enough. Like you said there are successes coupled with glaring failures.

Crime really is a big problem. When you live in a country of great economic inequality like SA (and not just racially but along class lines too) and high unemployment, please tell me how an undocumented immigrant will make his living when local laws prefer locals. And we have millions of those in SA because of our porous borders and the ANCs insistence to pay back favours to Africa for solidarity during the apartheid days.

Crime in SA is fuelled by foreigners - it was manageable during apartheid but now is out of control. Locals are reclaiming their country.

All these small African countries are jealous of NIGERIA, recently a Pan African Twitter organization posted pictures of Nigeria made cars being used by the police, Fire fighters, Army e.t.c

The comment section was full of praises from other Africans.

But Ruud, because he grew up watching matches in Joan Cruyff Arena thinks he can talk anyhow.

Nonsense.

Privatisation itself is a devil. Big private SA companies are prone to monopolising the economy much like they do when they arrive in Nigeria.

It is for this reason black entrants also struggle to enter certain sectors without state intervention and sanctions. So no, wholesale privatisation is not the answer.

No way it's not the same, Nigeria is thousands of miles from South Africa.
Just make visa hard for Nigerians like the US.

They also come in through neighbouring countries like Mozambique. No-one can resist the lure of SA when you're close-by in Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland and Zimbabwe. Even half of those country's citizens are in SA.

Over 50% of Nigerians live in slums. grin grin

Capetown is a slum, the second biggest slum in Africa.

South has the highest number of HIV positive people representing 18% of the populace(tested) am sure it should be up to 60% when you add those that hasn't been tested.

Nigeria great country with useless fantastically corrupt leaders. Nigeria has the worse political leaders in the world and that is fact!
When it comes to economic leaders that run the private sector we are number one in Africa.

Truth be told- Botswana,Namibia and South Africa is doing better than Nigeria in all developmental indices.
