Kalapizim: Ever heard of Benjamin Mendy, Arthur Masuaku, Alex Sandro, Kyle Walker etc? |

TheSuperNerd: The first game where I watched his aggressiveness was in a national match, and Nigerians weren't having it. But of all players in a team, the player who should be bullied the least is a striker because he receives the least of the ball, so he needs to be extra sharp. Majority of the top strikers in the world are aggressive. From Ronaldo to Suarez. It also shows his mentality. I listened to him on Nigerian Info where he said he likes to 'psych up' the crowd. So that is his style. In fact just as he as committed the second most fouls, he is one of the most fouled strikers. |

Very fast - Yes. Good going forward - Yes. He even played LW in their last game where he bagged an assist. Superb crossing ability - Yes. But Defensively strong? - Uhmmm... I have seen this lad a few times and he is still suspect defensively but he will get there. For now, I consider him between average and slightly above average defensively. On the overall, he is a fine prospect and could win the race for the next left footed LB Rohr will call up. Time will tell. ChrisKels: 2 Likes |

daveP: And that's because of his age, Thierry Henry was an awful finisher before he met Wenger. Mbappe who is regarded as the best of the next generation has missed the second most 'big chances' in the whole of Europe this season. But as he grows he will convert more chances. 1 Like |

I endorses all these. The boy does possess these traits as you have said. No hypes at all. But his defensive side is my only concern. Anyway, he is young shaa... He will improve in that aspect. Perfect that and we got a beast of a left footed LB. ChrisKels: 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd: I do wonder if it will not be a step down. Galatasaray is the most successful Turkish team and Onyekuru is already regarded as a club legend. Since Galatasaray claim they do not have the funds to sign him, I would have preferred he move to Olympiacos who are desperate to sign him. Since Olympiacos are a way bigger club and guarantee him goals and CL football. |

Kalapizim: Alves is just as sturdy as Cafu, Mendy and Carlos, he doesn't have same frame as Alba and Cole. |

Edopesin: Be clear that is not what i said. My emphasis is on adaptability and the players who have adapted over years are very familiar with the system that will be competing with him, Pepe has adapted because he is simply technically EXCEPTIONAL though taken a bit of time. Pace alone will not do it. In Lille he plays DIRECT with emphasis on speed, aggression and finishing not skill and technicality, he is the point man, everybody looks for him, he is the focus of almost everything, it will be VERY DIFFERENT in Arsenal. That is the essential point I am making. His game will have to change and adapt, it is not that easy Lacazette was not the focal singular focal point at Lyon before coming to Arsenal and i would say it was easier for him to adapt. If for instance if he was going to Newcastle who play looking for a point man , his introduction would be SEAMLESS and it would be about how he will deal with stronger faster more competitive EPL defenders comparative to French League 1. |

Edopesin: Lacazette goal stats in French league 1 in the last 4 years before he left Lyon to Arsenal 2013/14 - 15 2014/15 - 27 2015/16 - 21 2016/17 - 28 And after nearly one season in French league he has scored 13 and you have used the term "BY FAR" You are usually much more balanced than that . 1 Like |

A new professional Football league to rival NPFL is set to debut in the country, Complete Sports has exclusively gathered. Baring any last minute hitch, the league will be unveiled in Abuja, on Saturday with a press conference to announce the birth of the first privately owned professional football clubs league in the country. Complete Sports checks reveal that a maximum of 10 clubs will pioneer the league which is said to have tacitly received the backing of the Youth and Sports Development Minister, Sunday Dare. If and when eventually started, the League has as N20m star prize for the winner. Findings revealed that a Chief Executive Officer, CEO, (names withheld) has already been slated for the league with a pool of private football heavyweights in the country said to be involved in the venture. The league has equally been registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, Abuja. Already, those who have been working from behind the scene since late last year to midwife the venture are understood to have sealed a TV sponsorship deal which will ensure that the matches are beamed live on the tubes to the sitting homes of the football loving World. “They have also pulled a N400m take off grant”, an insider hinted Orient Sports on condition of anonymity. “When we start, clubs will get their due share of the funds and the league will be a reference point to others,” he added. It was also learnt that even though all the participating clubs will be affiliated to the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, just as the matches will also be officiated by the NFF accredited referees. Ironically, winners of the league will have no stake in flying Nigeria’s flag in the CAF inter club competitions. That (Nigerian representation in CAF inter club competitions) is for the winners of the NPFL and the domestic cup. One of the major requirements for participation in the Private Clubs League, Complete Sports was told, was that all the clubs must own a private stadium. 1 Like |

komekn: Lacazette use that French league play ,only zlatan and Cavani was better than him for the past decade if am not mistaken. He is also doing well in Arsenal ,he has managed 7 goals in the Epl so far this season with lesser minutes There are some comparison that doesn’t need to be made abeg See as Pepe dey do like mumu for Arsenal Mind you I don’t normally agree with you because you like talking down on others league But I no too rate that French league abeg Look at how moses Simon and that Senegalese mbaye Niang found it easy there ,kudos to moses Simon for his hard work thou If not for the World Cup exploits of Mbappe I would have called him overrated because he hasn’t play in a better league as far as I am concerned ,laliga ,Epl ,bundesliga ,Seria A are the leagues I rate 1 Like |

komekn: Pepe is a winger and cannot be used for the point here and hasn't even adapted to the Premier League and Arsenal so the technical exception that he supposedly has isn't working for him Osimhen can do what Aubameyang is doing at Arsenal, he has whatever skill is required and this just wait around the box he involves himself in the attacking building up and is actually more than a point man |

Kog45: Ighalo is what Manchester united have been looking for since they lost Lukaku. I remember when people were casting aspersions on my person when i mentioned Ighalo hold up play, his physicality and how he is the best striker for Nigeria, indeed he proved them all wrong at AFCON , i was not surprised. I see Ighalo not necessarily scoring a lot of goals but giving them further options and adding much needed steel and grit to thier rront line as well as the all important HOLD- UP PLAY. What odd Ighalo is far more adaptable to the EPL than any other Nigerian striker, he has done it before and then had a dry spell before running to China to make some insane money. 3 Likes 1 Share |
