Ibime:Nice summary of a book with over 1,300 pages. Even Albert Einstein (if he were alive) would be proud of your speed in reading the whole literature in less than 24 hours. By reading a page in a book (not up to 1% of its content), you've automatically read the whole book and can critique it. Now, that's interesting. There are thousands of histories in the book. Otem makes thousands and thousands of claims in it. Can you show me where I said I believe the whole book hook, line, and sinker? Can you show me where I said any book in history (not even Otem's) is infallible or perfect? Or let's even come down to the various histories of Faulkin (Yeshua) in the book: Can you show where I stated that IMO, all the histories of Yeshua in that literature are 100% factual and infallible? |

Am i the only one who's actually willing to give gensteejay the benefit of the doubt? I'm not in support of everything he's said but i'm always open-minded. Most people here are quick to mock him without actually going through the sources or materials he mentioned. They've closed their minds to the slightest possibility that there might be an element of truth to it. I don't have to wholly believe everything he says but i think i can gleam a thing or two from it and build on my own knowledge base. I can derive similar or different ideas by reasoning and examining his claims critically and then making my own interpretation of things. 12 Likes |

At least, I've known Otem for over 2 years now on Nairaland. In his own philosophy by his works, posts, and actions, he worships/prays to no god and always shuns forming any religion, cult, brotherhood, or followership/fellowship. If he was chasing clout or looking to develop a cult, I would have regarded his book as a religious text, which I don't hold in high esteem. Now, mockers can say whatever they like. When you pour water into a basket, let's know if the basket ever becomes full. That's how futile a foolish person's criticism looks when he condemns what he doesn't know its content. Just like I have recommend a number of books of history for people, I will do the same for a seminal book like Otem's. It's always wise to read histories from various sources, rather than forming your beliefs on just one book like religious people do. 2 Likes |

gensteejay: You can already see his influences in the first page of the book. The below chapters for example are just a straight rip-off of The Songs of Solomon. How you took someone just ripping off other religious texts, and combining different beliefs from Greek Mythology to Egyptian Mythology and came to present it as fact here is what baffles me. Earthum in his texts is modelled on Poseidon. He modelled Earthum (Poseidon) love for Earthus (Hera) on Greek mythology, where Poseidon was cheating with Hera after Zeus (who he has created as Nymphidis) tricked her into marriage. The same Nymphidis, he has combined to be the characters of Zeus with Jehovah. To add jara to his rip-off of Greek mythology, he even created Ephradite (Aphrodite) My guy has presented a great work of art borrowing heavily from other religions and tying up characteristics from different gods into a nice literary piece of sci-fi historical and ethno-religious fiction. But goddamn, I must be crazy to start bringing these Gods like Faulkin, yESHUa to present as fact on Chelsea thread and actually believe it. You can see how he combined Greek Mythology - Hera (Earthus) cheating on Zeus (Nymphidis) with Poseidon (Earthum) - and transcribed it into Songs of Solomon (Bible) below. I don't blame my nigga Atem for this great piece of work, I blame you who do not know the root etymology of these stories for allowing your head to be used. otemanuduno: otemanuduno: 10 Likes |

Ibime:Ok. Back in 2017 when I first came across his thread when I was still a Muslim, I also felt like he was copying things from various sources and combining all of them into a single book. So I only managed to read the first page of the book then because by reading such books as a Muslim, most of the content will sound nonsensical since you already have a set of beliefs ingrained in your mind as a Muslim. But when I abandoned the thread, I followed different discussions of atheists here on Nairaland then, read various threads of this nler, Billyonaire (his account his now deactivated but he's a new account), read some other books recommended by musicwriter (another irreligious nler). Using these sources and books, I did my own independent research to verify things personally and think about them critically (looking for evidence in support of or against a religious claim), instead of following what I was taught from childhood or the popular opinions of the religious majority, I became convinced by the end of 2017 that all religions are man-made and are political tools for mind control. Early 2018, I looked for the thread again and approached it with an open mind because I had a lot of questions in need of answers. For a year, I read everything piece be piece and got the PDF (without the soft copy, the thread will not make much sense as many parts have been deleted). Now, without a particular religion or philosophy, I can appraise his claims critically. Which ones are true? Which ones are false? Which ones are unverified? There are a number of similarities in some stories with what's in the Bible, so a person can quickly to rush to conclude he copied all the stories from the Bible. But that's not so. His own approach is more detailed as he considered the origin of each character (Yeshua, prophets, etc.) and concept in the Bible. He didn't leave out many things about the characters and concepts as we've in the Bible. His own version of these stories is original. For instance, how did the name of Solomon come about (the etymology)? He didn't just narrate the history of this person starting halfway. He took it right from his roots (parts not in any religious book). The history of mountain Kilimanjaro in East Africa: He narrated how that term was formed (from 2 communities). The term, Omoluwabi, in Yorubaland he narrated how that word came about. There are lots of such original historical claims in the book you can't find anywhere in details like that. It's one thing for an author to explain the history of a city, for example; but when he goes deeper to discuss how the name of the city was formed (the etymology), a reasonable person can't waive such claims aside. There are lots of historical facts in the book. Since, many of the histories are about events billions, millions of years ago, an important question the reader needs to ask is, "how accurate are the histories?" So, a reasonable person can't believe all the things in a book he reads since, as far as I'm concerned, no book on earth (including religious texts) is the ultimate or infallible or perfect. Only by reading the literature (for people that find such necessary) and evaluating the claims critically by checking other sources, etc. can that question be answered. It will take time to evaluate all the claims in the book since they're very many. Personally, having read the whole book and studied the Seriot language, I've seen enough reasons to investigate the claims in the literature, and not to shove it aside as a fabricated piece. 1 Like |

gensteejay: Leave story abeg. Your other sources are drawn from the same historical religions hence affirming the same circle of knowledge he drew upon to create his work of historical FICTION. Leaving long talks aside, we can also use our intuition on the intangible aspects of his work. Your first redflag as to the charlatanism of his work should be to ask yourself why he converted his Seriot revelations into the olde English of King James in this modern age, if not to mimic other religious texts which were transcribed to English in the 16th and 17th century. Did Atum ask him to reveal all this knowledge in 16th century language? That already disqualifies the authenticity of revelation completely. 2 Likes |

gensteejay: There's Greek history and Greek MYTHS. There's a reason why myths are termed myths. You don't manufacture history. History is a recount of past happenings. It isn't created. Otem's supposed historical recounts (while making for an interesting read strictly from a literary perspective) are the end-products of an overly-imaginative mind. Alternate-facts, actually. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Nothing of substance worthy of any response from me. When I see a commenter that's very familiar with the book, having read all of it (or most parts), such a person will post intelligent questions, showing they know the content they're criticizing well. How can a person critique a book after reading merely a page out of over a thousand pages? All knowledge and books are meant to be critically reviewed to know what's true or not. But critiquing things on the surface without first learning about what you're talking about (as most are doing here) is merely making a noise. No substance. |

gensteejay: In all thy gaining, gain wisdom. Why should I spend all my time reading a book you claim is twice as long as the Bible and Qur'an combined when I can already see from the first page it is predicated on a rip off of Greek MYTHS. If OtemAtum care to shorten it to a more concise book, I wouldn't mind taking it on holiday like any other work of fiction to be read leisurely while lying on the beach sipping daquiris and pina coladas. That's what you do with unprofitable literature having paid for the holiday with money earned from reading PROFITABLE literature. 7 Likes |
