COAS VISITS HEADQUARTERS 3 DIVISION JOS, INSPECTS MULTIPLE WELFARE PROJECTS

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt Gen Tukur Yusufu Buratai was at the Headquarters 3 Division Nigerian Army Jos on Thursday 4th June 2020, where he inspected several completed and ongoing welfare projects in Maxwell Khobe Cantonment.

During the visit, Gen Buratai inspected Multi-purpose Dam/Integrated Water Treatment Plant which takes care of the water needs of the Barracks community and has capacity to assist surrounding communities in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State. Additionally, the dam was designed and constructed to provide additional suitable arena for amphibious training of qualified Nigerian Army personnel.

Gen Buratai also inspected the newly built Rhino Super Market, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment Multi Purpose Cooperative Society Office Complex, newly built Nigerian Army Officers' Wives Association Nursery and Primary Schools' administrative Block, renovated Nigerian Army Officers Wives' Association Model School Playground and the completed elaborate renovation works done at 3 Division Medical Services and Hospital among others.

All these welfare projects would surely benefit officers/soldiers, their families and the surrounding communities of the Cantonment, and are strong indicators that the welfare of Army personnel and their families is one of the top most priorities of the COAS.

Instructively, all the intervention projects inspected by the COAS, including those that were earlier commissioned which cut across socio-economic and religious spheres, were funded by the Army Headquarters and the projects were executed under the direct supervision of the General Officer Commanding 3 Division Nigerian Army Maj Gen Nuhu Angbazo.

The Chief of Training and Operations (Army) Maj Gen EO Udo, Chief of Logistics (Army), Maj Gen JI Unuigbe, General Officer Commanding 3 Division Maj Gen NE Angbazo, Chief of Military Intelligence Maj Gen SA Adebayo, Commanders and Key Staff Officers of the Division accompanied the COAS during the inspection tour of the multiple project sites located in the Cantonment.

The General Officer Commanding the Division who was visibly elated, on behalf of the officers and soldiers of the Division, thanked the COAS for graciously funding the projects which are of tremendous benefits particularly to the soldiers and their families thereby underscoring the unflinching disposition/policy of Lt Gen TY Buratai to troops' welfare.

BREAKING: SOLDIER CLIMBS TOWER, INSISTS ON COMMITTING SUICIDE.
Posted by News Express

For over an hour, residents of Jalingo, Taraba State, have been struggling to save a military man from committing suicide.

The soldier, whose name is given as Ali, has climbed the Welcome to Taraba Roadblock Tower -over 24fts high, and is threatening to jump down.

He is speaking in Hausa and pidgin, saying: “I want to die. Allow me to jump down and die.” But the youth who have gathered there are begging him: “Please do not jump. We don’t want you to die.”

Ali is seen on the high altitude Tower, attempting severally to jump down, but the people are trying to make sure they save him if he jumps. But they say they prefer he changes his mind and does not jump.

Witnesses said the soldier’s behaviour attracted their attention when they spotted him on top of the tower pulling and throwing down the items of clothing on him.

“We noticed someone climbing the place and pulling off his clothes. We got there to discover he is someone we know. He was left with under pant and an inner vest and poised to jump. We went close and began to beg him,” an eyewitness said.

A close look reveals he has an injury on his left kneecap, which he bandaged

TERROR WAR: BURATAI WARNS TROOPS: ‘WE WILL NO LONGER ACCEPT COWARDICE, SABOTAGE AND INEFFICIENCY UNDER ANY GUISE; INSPECTS MILITARY HARDWARE AT ARMOURED CORPS CENTRE & SCHOOL, 33 ARTY BRIGADE, BAUCHI.
By Oghenahogie

Against the backdrop of ongoing military operations against national security threats and procurement of new sophisticated hardware, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai has warned troops against cowardice and sabotage as well as inefficiency under any guise.

With several newly acquired military hardware especially armoured battle tanks, it is the belief of the Army Chief that enemies of the country be they terrorists, armed bandits or militias would be crushed in mission areas when troops show commitment and display high level of professional skills.

General Buratai gave the warning on Wednesday when he visited the headquarters of the Nigerian Army Armoured Corps and School, and the 33 Artillery Brigade all in Bauchi to assess troops training in the Operation of Main Battle Tanks and long range Artillery gungire

Col Sagir Musa, Acting Director, Army Public Relations, in s statement noted that the COAS assessed ongoing VT4 Main Battle Tank Training in which 155 officers and soldiers are undergoing training for competent commanders, crew men, drivers and technicians.

Addressing the instructors, staff and 155 participants (all ranks), Gen Buratai expressed satisfaction on the quality/level of training, commitment and discipline of the participants.

He said, “Your discipline, commitment and assimilation is so far quite encouraging and commendable.”

“You should continue to learn well and be able to efficiently operate the new platforms in readiness to your deployment into the mission areas”.

“While I commend your efforts to the training, let me warn that you must operate/handle the new equipment proficiently, we will not accept cowardice, sabotage or inefficiency under any guise whatsoever”

Gen Buratai further urged the participants to maintain high standards of professionalism, effectiveness and discipline in whatever roles they might be assigned or deployed to.

He commended the Commandant, instructors and staff of the school for a good job and directed the students to cooperate fully and learn as well as to apply what they have learnt practically and effectively in the war front.

The course participants, through their course leader, appreciated and commended the inspiring leadership of Gen Buratai and his uncommon efforts in the struggle to end terrorism in Nigeria.

They assured him of unflinching support and commitment to bring terrorism to an end very soon, leveraging fully on the newly acquired equipment by the Nigerian Army.

Gen Buratai used the opportunity to assess the living accommodation of some soldiers in Shadawanka Barracks, 33 Brigade Bauchi whose roofs were destroyed by rainstorm on which repairs are already ongoing as seen during the visit to the affected areas.

Col Sagir said the visit to the sites reflected Gen Buratai’s disposition of placing troops’ welfare as one of his top most priorities noting that construction and renovation of accommodation for personnel of the Nigerian Army is equally ongoing in most of the Nigerian Army Barracks across the country just like in Lagos, Jos, Enugu and Portharcourt among others.

Scores of armed bandits have been neutralized and their weapons destroyed in air strikes executed by the Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI at 2 separate bandits’ camps, at Tsibiri and Manya, in Zurmi Local Government Area (LGA) in Zamfara State. This was recorded yesterday, 6 June 2020, as part of offensive operations Operation ACCORD to rid the North West and North Central States of armed banditry.
The air interdiction mission at Tsibiri, which is located 15Km East of Zurmi, was executed on the heels of credible Human Intelligence (HUMINT) reports indicating that the camp, with its clusters of thatched huts nestled close to a group of trees, was being used by the bandits to house their fighters and store their weapons and ammunition. Accordingly, 2 Nigerian Air Force attack helicopters were dispatched to engage the location scoring accurate hits on the target area leading to the destruction of the structures and the weapons and ammunition stored in them as well as the neutralization of bandits in the huts and surrounding bushes.
The attack helicopters later conducted an air strike on another camp South of Manya, which also resulted in the killing of more armed bandits, including some of their leaders, as they gathered for a meeting at the location.
The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, commends the Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI for their professionalism and directs them to remain resolute whilst continuing to provide close air support for ongoing ground operations, towards accomplishing the directives of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) to restore normalcy in the North West and North Central Zones of the Country.

I read this interview many years ago when coward Ajibola granted it... and I was disgusted.

Obasanjo goofed big time... war or no war, Nigeria should never have handed Bakassi to Cameroun. Despite world judgements, Israel has refused to release occipied territories it captured in wars. No nation would send their troops to fight for Cameroon.

Gens. Abacha or IBB would never have surrendered Bakassi like that. It is shameful when a full grown man touts "surrendering" your land because of fear of war. Very stupid and shameless man called Ajibola. Like Gens. Diya and Adisa.
Shamelessness and cowardise runs deep from that side

ISWAP hardly attacks Maiduguri or even use Suicide bombers. It's Mostly BHT that does that. ISWAP controls an area where they can only come to Maiduguri through Baga Road and Yobe road. If they ever try coming through Baga Road it will likely be a death sentence because of the Biggest barracks in Northeast Maimalari Barracks is right at the entrance of Maiduguri-Monguno-Baga Road. That is why peeps who live at Baga and Damasak Road areas in Maid can snore till day break without any fear grin.

I doubt if anyone has ever confirmed ISWAP using suicide since its existence. If they wanna attack they come fully prepared with Gun trucks. Even BHT do not have as many Guntrucks as ISWAP. Last week they came out with 11 Guntrucks on Monguno to road and abducted some civilians and told others to tell the Military and community that Mamman Nur faction is back. Really saddening that those who they abducted have been slaughtered and their bodies were dropped back on the road side by ISWAP embarassed on Saturday.
