Edopesin: You used the term BY FAR. In hist first season in French league 1, he has not even played a full season yet has scored 13 goals , there may be an opportunity to score more, but not a lot more if gets to 20 goals when the league restarts and finishes that will be exceptional. But the term BY FAR. |

andrewbaba44: To buttress your point tell me one striker that has left French league and equaled hIs goal tally in the EPL, apart from Drogba who only spent 4 years in the French league and 9 years in the EPL. My view he was made in the EPL but started in the French league. |

mkrest:Those these clubs have their own standard stadia? Or are they going to be using government owned stadia? Hope the league will be transparent enough to win fans over. |

Edopesin: That is not a realistic comparison they are two different leagues with different levels of quality. Look at Pepe and Lacazette and how they dominated the French league 1 for years and have come to the EPL and done very well but struggled to replicate the stats they had in French league 1. Indeed i can not recall any who have from the French league. The central theme was how well can Osimhen adapt to the EPL playing for Arsenal and if you like thrive and dominate as he has in the French league. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Icon4s(m): 1:57pm On Jun 07, 2020 |
Kog45: This was part of the thinking that led to the clamours for inclusion of new players at the detrement of quality and experience. As at 2005 Okocha and Kanu were still very much in the thick and thin of the game. Oruma and Obodo that we thought would fit into the shoes of Jay-Jay were not really measuring up to the standards Jay-Jay had set. Even though Okocha retired after the 2006 AFCON Kanu still went further to play 2 more AFCONS (2008 and 2010). |

dymusty86: Well going by the write up , to particate in the league clubs must have their own stadia , it remains to be seen if it will be followed to the letter. Speaking of winning the fans over , as long as they are serious with the TV deal and fair play , the fans will soon notice them |

komekn: If Osimhen replicates his for Arsenal it will not be unsual because different players from the ligue 1 have done with different epl teams When you're good you're good, Osimhen literally played in two different leagues in less than two years He has been dominating so I don't see why the EPL will be any different 1 Like |

Edopesin: The modern player has to be adaptable and particularly at Arsenal, technically astute and skillful and as a forward the ability to play on the wings as well. Lacazette actually started playing as a winger before moving more central, we do not need to talk about the skill set of Aubmyang or Pepe but i would add the Brazilian Martenelli and these guys have outstanding skill and are not slow. The fact is , some will not like to believe or hear this so sorry to burst the Bubble insane skill, technical ability are not Victors main attributes he is not as good as them that i have mentioned. However, blistering pace and aggression a very big resounding YES. Will that be enough to claim a regular place as Arsenal number one that is the question. IMO Arsenal do not play with a traditional striker even the Legendary Thierry was more prone to drift to the left as opposed down the center. We are in transfer period and so what EPL team will suit him best, I would have thought Man U but looking at things i dont think they may require him and you already have Rashford and our man Ighalo. I also think he is still developing and he needs game time to develop. So you would probably look at Mid table teams in the EPL, IMO. |

Edopesin: First of which players, lets start from there. Secondly dominating in one league is not a guarantee you dominate in another whether higher or lower, each league and the clubs in that leage lay emphasis on different attributes. |

andrewbaba44: The Legend status is heavy, but follow Turkish twitter to see how they rate him. But, in truth, Onyekuru has been involved in the two most recent big events in Galatasaray history, their league win and their first away win against Ferneberche in 21 years. Watch the video from this link to see how he was utilised in single-handedly destroying Fenerbahce. One goal, One penalty won, MoTM. Look at this off the ball movements. https://mobile.twitter.com/MahirVVarol/status/1267760423547408384?p=v

komekn: Oba Hazard But then again you never know if a player will dominate a league unless they actually feature in the league and the fact Arsenal expressed interest in him shows they actually believe he can adapt to their play Millik and Mertens are relatively skillful to an extent and Napoli went after a striker that can deliver the same I don't personally don't think Osimhen lacks in any attribute that is required for him to break into the Arsenal squad Abi no be Arsenal again |

kellycute: It is either you lack capacity or it may be an issue of perception. Perception creates Expectations and Expectations not met creates CONFLICT. How you read something is a reflection of yourself and not the words you have read. As a consequence you called me a LIAR but if I ask you to show me one lie you will do the very thing you are accusing me of EVADE or start STUTTERING. Icon4s:Chief,i think that was general belie that Oruma, Obodo even James Obiorah failed to live up-to expectations but forgetting that active Okocha will always getting the starting shirt. Thank God he retired, player like Mikel would have been a bench warmer( 2006-2010) with Okocha still active. Pls boss compare Kanu 1996-2006 to 2006-2010 with Super Eagles. Chief, Kanu has nothing to offer after our failed 2006 World Cup qualifications,my opinion Chief. |
