Tamunotonye22:Sir,i have never heard of any private sponsored league in any country,so why in Nigeria. The organiser of this purported private league should have channel their resources into Nigeria league cos I still remember Alfusalami rocks,Leventis United,Abiola babes,Iwuanyawu Nationale,Flash Flamingo,Ibwa,Femo scorpion,ACB,First bank, Julius Berger,Ibukun Oluwa,Rancher bees,Nasco jet,Jasper united,Concord fc,Raccah Rover,BCC lion etc. These are private clubs that made Nigeria football beautiful to watch in the 80-mid 2000. If they have any issue with LMC they should just go to the round-table on the way forward cos NPFL remain the bedrock of Nigeria football and bringing any private league would lead to total collapse of half dead NPFL. 3 Likes |

Edopesin: Liverpool as with all clubs in the EPL but to differing degrees will be tracking at least 100 players at any one time and expressing interest, it is indicative and not conclusive. It really doesn't mean that you fit the requirements, each league, Club and Manager will have attributes they consider essential for each position that they think will fit into their plan and strategy. This is why Kalidou Koulibaly is generating so much interest he fits perfectly the bill for a defender in the EPL, there is no debate he walks straight into any club no debate, he has every single attribute required to dominate. Aubmyang, Pepe, Lacazette, Martennelli, these are the guys he will be competing with directly IMO they are technically better and more adaptable. Then you have the other boys waiting for an opportunity hoping that you slip up, like Reiss Nelson, Nketiah, and then the unknowns to most but not unknown to Arteta. But all of them are ingrained in the Arsenal way. A way that is not centred on having an out an out striker like Victor, which is what Victor is, and has been for his football career. If you think that none of these players constitute a problem to his progression and he can easily adapt then so be it. |

Edopesin:This is a private league not competition for cup and to make it clear any football related competition always have the backing of NFF,if NFF see it as a good development to Nigeria football,no issue. As you said let lawyers in the house say something on likely legal implications. 1 Like |

safarigirl: Please give me the authentic Warri pidgin dictionary so i can correct myself, until you do that my WHAATEN remains. Perception creates Expectations and Expectations not met creates CONFLICT. My discussion was not with you but as usual you just could not resist the temptation to jump on board in the middle without understanding where the discussion emanated from with your premeditated self birthed negative notions. If you have low self esteem and read things as being condescending when you are not even remotely within the discussion, i am sorry that is not my fault. You have even descended to the level of TELLING BLATANT LIES but i am not sure why e.g. Is fandom by buying tickets and going to games? Someone is supporting a team from Nigeria, and you are asking if he has season tickets, does he live in England? How will he have season tickets? When did i say that I will remind you, because as you have already admitted you do nor read my contributions to completion. But somehow you always respond when i am not talking to you. The subject matter absolutely had nothing with being a Fan at its inception. But the context of the word "WE" as justification to dismiss my view as being 100% false, a gain you did not read that bit. But with extreme indignation like a woman scorned you went on a tirade of anger and opinionated balderdash supported by your self created churlish claims. It was later on Danieinino00 brought the word fan to anchor his entire objection upon.b If you see me as an English authority in football whatever that means in your befuddled ideas, that is your perception not mine. And if by reading my write up you feel ridiculed, I really cannot legislate for what you feel that is entirely your choice. But remember your perception is not fact and it is not necessarily right it is simply you. The way you approach my write ups many would wonder if we have some kind of venomous interaction outside of this forum. You said i have not dropped any exclusive information here, why should I ? And then if i did get everyone asking me questions on the how and why or you could assume i dont know anything, which really is no biggie to me. Finally, all this just light-hearted banter on a faceless forum, it simply is not that deep to get all heated up about, Kool down. 2 Likes |

Truth is heading to either Greece or remaining in Turkey is a step down from Ligue 1. But in any case, I hope he bags a move at least to get away from the hold of Monaco over his career as they clearly don't want him. Time will tell where Henry eventually end up. Wishing him well. Really tired of seeing the lad tossed from here to there by his parent club. Looking back, if only he had not moved to Monaco and remained with Gala, he wouldn't be here. But that's football life. One decision can make or ruin some or all of it all. TheLoneCitizen: 2 Likes |

TheSuperNerd: What makes it worse is that Monaco bid the highest for him and Everton accepted, he claims he had no say in the move. Galatasary is the best place for his development, because he is well rated, but if Galatasaray cannot afford as they couldn't afford him before he moved to Monaco, he should move to Olympiacos, who one of the biggest clubs outside the Top Five clubs even bigger than Monaco. They also guarantee CL Football. |

Yes, Nigeria badly needs a private, independent league scorenigeria.com.ng The National Association of Nigeria Footballers (NANF) wishes to use this opportunity to salute the courage of Nigeria football stakeholders, investors and interest groups putting finishing touches to run a commercially viable private and independent league in Nigeria within the ambit of the law. This was after the corruption-infested NFF failed to provide quality leadership in the last six years of the 30 years since the inception of professional football in Nigeria. It was a cheering news earlier in the week when a group of private club proprietors under the leadership of distinguish senator Ifeanyi Ubah announced their intention to run a private and independent league. The NANF is also aware that a former NFA chairman, a gentleman, business tycoon and a repository of football knowledge who broke into FIFA leadership in his mid30’s, is putting up a group of top businessmen and eminent Nigerians to run a private and independent league. So also a core investor in Nigeria football, consultant and promoter, a businessman associated with the development and promotion of the league is putting up a very strong team of foreign and local investors to run a private and independent league. Very sad that the government-owned clubs and their representatives who are supposed to champion the cause of renaissance of our leagues particularly the premier league joined the League Management Company(LMC) – a group of con men who hijacked the league since 2011 to further ruin the league in the past 10 years. Corruption-infested NFF failed to provide quality leadership in the last six years of the 30 years of inception of professional football in Nigeria The club representatives are placated with directorship on the LMC board in rotational basis and placed on a salary of 500,000 Naira monthly each, with these peanuts they sold their birthright of ownership of the league. They join in the manipulation of results to favour their various clubs for who will be champion of the NPFL every season and the champion becomes the highest bidder. That is the simple reason Nigerian clubs cannot stand the test of time in CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup because the best teams don’t emerge tops as club officials prefer influencing and manipulating match officials than the welfare of their players. Unfortunately, government-owned clubs have paved way for unscrupulous elements to hijack our leagues due largely to gross incompetence on their own part. For instance, Enyimba had an exceptional opportunity to lead the way in 2003 and 2004 seasons when they won the CAF Champions League back-to-back as the millions of dollars generated from the prize monies were sufficient to run a viable club independent of government funding. TP Mazembe of DR Congo never had that kind of start-up capital. The government club officials deliberately don’t see these clubs as viable ventures, rather they squander and divert revenues generated from the sales of their players to foreign clubs instead of reinvesting those funds in their clubs. For instance, the current NFF president as chairman of Warri Wolves allegedly diverted revenues generated by the sales of Jude Aneke, Emmanuel Ehiosun, Sunday Mba and other high-profile players to his private pockets. And sadly the leadership of the Club Owners Association who are supposed to be voice of the clubs have been conscripted into supporters club to the LMC, they are just there to clap their hands for the LMC to continue to ruin the NPFL. The club representatives are placated with directorship on the LMC board in rotational basis and placed on a salary of 500,000 Naira monthly each, with these peanuts they sold their birthright of ownership of the league The home-based players are at the receiving end of these atrocities, and have even lost confidence in themselves that they are not good enough to play for the Super Eagles as home-based players. This is a huge psychological problem. Finidi George left Sharks of Port Harcourt and featured for mighty Ajax FC of Amsterdam same week with only one cap as a home based player with the Super Eagles. Amokachi was from the NPFL Same with Etim Esin, Daniel Amokachi, Taribo West, Nwankwo Kanu, the list is endless. This is the level Pinnick and his gang have brought our football to completely obliterate domestic football and rely on children of immigrant Nigerians to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria. The immediate solution is to resort to privately-run and independent leagues, this indeed was the concept of the founding fathers our professional league – late Nathaniel Idowu, M.K.O Abiola, Femi Olukanmi (all of blessed memory),Pa Arthur Kwame and distinguish senator Patrick Osakwe. NANF salutes all stakeholders investing their resources and time planning to set up independent leagues and assure all of our maximum support. 1 Like |

Kog45: USA had like 3 leagues going at a particular time. The private clubs are within their right to start their own league. The NFF cannot have a monopoly on leagues. I am all for it. The more jobs for our youths the better. If the NPFL want to stay alive, in the words of Drake they have to look alive. Show the fans why they should watch. 1 Like |
