InfinityEstates: No I don't think so, that's y a lot of riders cancel anyhow. No penalties. When I was using uber back then, I got to PU. I had waited for lyk 2.40 mins or 3 mins not sure. But I know its not up to 5 mins. The rider cancelled n I just got a notice that I HV #300 fee, made a grin n moved off. Few seconds later rider began calling me, ( maybe he/she got a debit notice) probably he/she thought it was d usual bolt app where you just cancel @ will. The cancellation fee dey make uber riders serious sha. . |

My stubborn rider experience this morning. I picked this girl from Fola Osibo, destination somewhere in Apongbon. She entered the car and wasn’t putting on her nose mask, so I requested that she puts it on. The following conversations ensued: Me: Pls use your nose mask Rider: Don’t worry Oga, I don’t have corona Me: You don’t have to wait until you contract the virus before you use your nose mask moreover we can be arrested on the road, so pls put it on. Rider: Yesterday I didn’t use it on my way here and they didn’t arrest us. Me: That’s the drivers lucky day. Rider: today can be your own lucky day too. Me: leave luck aside, I don’t take risk (at this point I was feeling really frustrated.) Rider: Ok o She reluctantly put it on and we continued on the trip. She sat directly behind me so I wasn’t really paying attention to her. We got to Apongbon bridge decent and I was stopped by the police. The officer requested for my DL, I gave him. Next I heard was why is your passenger not wearing nose mask I looked back and this mumu girls mask was resting on her laps! The only thing I could manage to say is ‘But why?’ Officer said park well, give me your car papers, we are going to the office. You can see that even me that’s on the road I have my masks on, why is she not wearing hers?. I started begging, the man said it’s a presidential order bla bla bla, we must go to the office, it’s beyond his power. In my mind I knew everything he’s saying is just to put fear in me but this is Lagos. Something must drop here before this man give me back my DL and car papers. After few minutes of begging, he said okay what do you want me to do for you, your offense is 10k fine but tell me what you have. Laslas 1500 settle the matter. Well the girl refunded my money. Her trip ended at 1700, she sent 3200. 16 Likes |

northbird:I’ll count my loss and move on. I wasn’t expecting her to pay but I’m happy she paid. Next time she will wear her mask without waiting to be told. I just imagined the officer refused to take 1500 and insisted on the 10k or even 5k. Do you think she will refund me ? |

Babadee1900: I don't even know what to make out of this, our law's are full and empty at the same time, we never have a standard and that's how things will continue to b. Sometimes I regret having faith in this country, I won't stop asking what's actually the difference between motorist and ordinary man walking along the road? The better percent of people are not using face mask again here in Nigeria, even in USA I flow with folks while they drive and they pass the po-po always, they have never for once have the fear of being stop by d police over face mask. I feel like this is the new way for authorities/task force to rob people of dia money, we really need to man these people in a war of face to face, we as a citizen should stand our ground. It sad to say same police men r seen without face mask, but when it time to do their evil work they use the mask. I honestly don't know how long Lagosian will survive running from Police, V.I.O, Lastma, CBD, FRSC, LG Boiz, etc. I can't Breathe 4 Likes |

It was still your lucky day bro. The riders I have picked before would not pay that money. And Bolt /Uber don't care about enlightening these people. In fact, they are quick to sanction you if such riders give you low rating. So pathetic. Babadee1900: 1 Like |

davit:Dont blame this on bolt or uber this time but on the driver who still chose to go on a ride when a passenger refuses to make use of a facemask. As you make a request it is clearly stated to have and make use of a facemask and recommended or advised to take the back seat just to keep distance but riders (Nigerians) that like acting like the boss even when they can't afford the fare instead someone else is paying for them are very fast to follow the recommended adviced that is of no value to them by taking the back seat but refuse to use a facemask. Low life and bossy Nigerians. In the other hand, the driver who has the power in their hands to give a warning and if the passenger still refuses to use the fm end the trip but they won't. So who is more foolish? And who is breakingbthe law the most? The rider or the driver? |

Please @all experienced DriversPartners How can I delete my profile from Uber App. I mean totally deleted. Don't want to have anything to do with them again. How can you tell me someone has been using my driver's license even before my registration with you and blocked me after working on the same App for just about two months claiming the impostor used my DL for fraud on the App. Someone has been using my DL since Match 2019 even before I collected the original around July and you didn't discovered during my registration. I requested for the impostor information and they refused and concluded I cannot partner with them again. Please, I want to delete my information/Profile from the App. Grateful if anyone can guide me through. Thanks |

Remember that you will be penalised for certain number of turned down trips, especially Bolts. So how do we balance such? Felicity0001: |
