I'm also exposed to a Computer Screen, like 80% of a normal day. I Usually have irritations mostly with the right eye, feels very uncomfortable after prolong exposure. I then have to use eye drops to ease the irritations. I see clearly with both eyes and I don't think or have any eye problem.

I'm just worried about the screen glare. do you use eye glasses now when using a computer? Whatever you thoughts are about this I'll appreciate.
And also, did the doctor actually linked you nearsightedness with prolong exposure to a Computer's screen, or you came to such conclusion yourself?

Looks like you are shortsighted (progressive myopia). But note that glasses do not cure, People often misunderstood the use of glasses. Your vision gets corrected when you puts them on and goes back to how it was when you take them off. Unless maybe the purpose of the glasses is for vision training.

Your Spectacle or contact lenses prescription will change as you age. So from time to time you will require new pairs of lenses to see clearer.

Also note that there are other ocular conditions that can lead to reduced vision, so it is very important that you check into an Eye Center or Clinic for an intensive Eye Exam

Go and see an optometrist. Also ask for an eye pressure test to be done.

Exactly what happened to me in 2011 at a training organized by my company. The colleague that sat beside me was seeing everything on the projector screen, I couldn’t see anything.

I reported at an eye clinic and I was told I was long overdue for glasses. I have been using glasses since then.

I also can’t read sub-titles without glasses. I can even barely identify football players on TV without glasses if I sit 20m away from the TV.

I also see objects close to me very well. In fact, glasses inconveniences me when reading so I remove it.

We have exactly the same eye issue. We are both short-sighted.

It's Myopia. I have same condition and your description is all same with me. Actually your not losing your sight. You just have to preserve it and manage it. Do an IOP atleast every 3 to 6 months or every year depending on age. Your doctor or optometrist will advice you properly if the iop is bad. Through out school, I have been having symptom but I started checking myself and using glasses from 29. The Drs were like where have I been since....I plan to be checking my iop every now and then. Don't be afraid, many people has the condition especially in Asia, just study about it and know what to do at every point in time.
