Hello guys,

Those who have done the CIIN certificate course to boost things, please how did you get the materials to study for the exams?
I'm still battling to register for the August exam oh. Story aplenty!

Hello! Please, any updates with CIIN exams registration? I have been on it since no real progress. Those guys don't reply emails or answer their phone. Kindly share if you've succeeded making any contact with them...thanks.

I meant the name on my certificate was Foundation programme. Just input Diploma in your course. Mine was Diploma in Accounting.

Wrong: MOD remark/EOR is also 15k now.

Rifkiz:

If you are about starting the process, i'd recommend you start with your education evaluation. Then spend the time studying why waiting for it to get to verification before writing your English test.
For IELTS, you have MOD and British. Both are almost the same amount, but the fees for remarking are different.MOD would charge you 42k, while British would ask for 15k.
You would need a passport for this too.
If you don't have one yet, it's not a bad idea to invest in one before writing IELTS

My people I bring you greetings.

It’s part 9 already!!!!!
I joined the thread in part 3 during the era of Newmum, Ysteph, Canadianfly, Mcstan, Smslive, etc. but decided to take a break in part 5/6. A lot would have gone down the drain, no doubt! I created a new profile as I forgot the password used for the first one.
Will be back soon with my story, it might be a source of encouragement to those that are still waiting or about to start the process. Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning.

1)Hi, in my opinion, why not aim for 7.5 in writing too so ur CRS can be 471. This is a good score considering recent ITA trends.

2) Yes you will need 3 reference letters since u worked in all 3 companies I think

3) You can start requesting the previous 2 you've left as the letter is supposed to show duration(from 01/01/2010 to 01/01/2011), the third one can be requested just about or when u enter the pool so it can reflect the extra few months that will be inevitably spent on ECA and IELTS.

4) Even domiciliary account(s) that has your name can be used as POF afterall most people submit screenshot of NGN-to-CAD online conversion rate with their NGN POF documents post ITA. No need to convert back to naira if that's ur question.
Cheers mate

Bosspapi:
Hi everyone, I'm quite new here and looking to kickstart the Express Entry process. I've been trying to consume as much information as I can and to be sincere, it's been overwhelming but I never expected less. A bit about me professionally, I'm a Software Developer, with about 5 years experience. I took the simulated CRS assessment/test with an IELTS score of S7.5, L8.5, R8.0, W7. I specified 2 certificates (I intend taking the BCS Certificate for IT). My total score is about 468, I don't know how great this score is, considering I've been told the threshold is getting higher.

I have a couple of questions:

1) How good is the score? How can I boost it any further if it isn't?

2) Experience-wise as a Software Developer I have been a freelancer most of the time especially in the University, but I have worked at 3 different companies in a professional setting/capacity for about 1 year each. Currently at my third company. Considering my assumptions are correct, I'd be needing 3 different reference letter once in the I get ITA, right?

3) Can I start requesting for these reference letters or do they need to be of a specific date range?

4) Also regarding the issue of POF, I don't have anything in Naira or sitting in my bank at the moment, thanks to how the Naira is being constantly devalued. Can I deposit a lump sum into my Nigerian account when the POF is requested?

These questions are in foresight and assuming I get into the pool and subsequently get an ITA. I'm trying as much as possible to start getting the necessary documentation together as soon as possible.

Thanks.

I did my evaluation last year. I just went to the records office to request for my transcript, i also went to foundation office to request for my transcript. The foundation office sent my diploma result to the record office, the record office sent both of them to WES together. I started in May, got my final evaluation in November. I don't know why it took that long though.

I didn't know the diploma would be evaluated as a second certificate, I just included it.
please what did you study??

Thanks so much for the insightful feedback. The point where you said you finally aced the test in Europe where you first took the test without meeting the target score answers my query. May God answers all your silent prayers real soon.

Thanks once again

[quote author=niyogeol post=90437910]Hi. This notion of IELTS being easy in one country to another might not be true. For instance, the reading and listening is standard. It is either right or wrong. So it leaves us with writing and speaking. Although the marking of this component of the test is subjective but there is sure a guideline they follow. Reason why there is EOR when one feels they deserve better than they have gotten. According to their policy, it is senior examiners that handle the EOR. So one can say it is fair to a large extent.

Thank you for your response but do you mean I need to score 8 in at least 3 or all?
ednut1:
8777 worked in the past. You need to max at least 3 or all to enter 470s
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 9 by blaqvoke: 10:07pm On Jun 08, 2020
Thank you so much. I will definitely retake ielts and a course to boost my score. Please how do I check for jobs on demand in a province? Also, I have worked in customer service for over 3yrs now, are such jobs usually on demand?
magd:
If you had 8 in listening the result would have been okay. So you need to rewrite and get atleast 8777. There are courses to take to boost your crs cima, bcs and others just use the search button to check which you can comfortably take. Also, if your job is in demand in any province you can dive into the pool with your current score that's if your eca is ready and might get lucky to be invited by the province. While you do that improve your score. All the best.
