Good morning FAM . Please I need your advice on this please, I actually apply for Canada visiting visa so I was sent a mail to my inbox saying that they are refusing giving me a visa due to my family background in (Canada and in Nigeria ) that if they actually gave me a visa that they aren’t sure that I will come back to Nigeria at the end of my stay in Canada and that I’m welcome to reapply if I feel I can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that my situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be accompanied by a new processing fee . Notice the mail was sent from High Commission of Canada to Kenya .Thanks FAM

That's less than a week to decide on your application. Or did you mean to type June 6, 2020. Strange! I actually applied on January 30th, 2020 through paper route. Till date, no information.

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by esosa4real(m): 8:05pm On Jun 08, 2020
Longtime my Nairaland people.

I am about to apply for a tourist visa for my mother inlaw to come support my wife before and after she gives birth.

She does some retail liquor selling at home and doesn't have a business, but has $10,000 in her savings account.
.
So I am confused as what to put in question about "Business". If i select that, she will be asked about Business Registration details, which she doesn't have. However, she has a liquor licence receipt.
.
What do you advise? Put that liquor receipt as proof of business or just plmodify the questions to reflect she has no job and no business.

Thanks.

My thinking will be that you should consider how the family members you have in Canada became residents. Did they went through a tourist visa and changed status (even though one can legally change status thorough that, that route is highly frowned at)? If that is the case, the Visa officer maybe thinking that you planned on doing the same. And that is a red flag since they have already made immigration channels available.

Hello People and thank you for the comments on this platform, its been very useful. So I recently submitted my application and sent a biometric letter but there is no available date to book an appointment for Biometrics. Please any info on when biometrics will commence, and what I'm I expected to do pending when a date is available.

Please when did you apply and when was his visa approved.

do not worry urself about the ticket reservation ...it not compulsory even a screen shot of the ticket price from the ticket sale or airline site is good enough evidence because what the visa officer is more concern about is your financial means to pay for your trip and ties to your country ,travel history and main purpose of coning to Canada ...l applied online for my father recently with same method attached screen shot from wakanow showing airline with ticket price and l also indicated the ticket price in my letter of explanation and how i will pay for it and his visa was approved ..i indicated the date when he will arrive Canada and depart but passport request letter was issued after the proposed dates[/quote]

hello house, pls i need your assistance, I applied for MPNP Workers in manitoba last June 15th 2019, through an agent here in Nigeria who said to have a connection with employer in Canada, i got an email from EOI Confirmed my entry, the process could not hand me any evidence other than they asking me for the necessary credentials, I got employment letter from the company i'm to work for, filled and sent back September 2019, i was assured by my agent that Biometrics will come up on dec 2019, when i waited and it passed, had to mail the employer, he said my agent in Nigeria is the one delaying, i made contact and he said they needed few more candidate to meet the quoter then already been sorted, they are applied for skilled workers in manitoba which i was told it excluded the test of english due to the program package, it's quite obvious they could ignore me because they have collected all the money asked, recently i made a contact with my agent in Nigeria and he said the delay happened due to the COVID 19 outburst and international airports are opening now as so do the Visa center. I haven't receive any biometric email yet from IRCC, pls kindly enlighten my route if i haven't fall in a wrong hands. thanks (I was to find out more and get more information so i can check the whole thing myself but confirmed the employer handlingthe process there could not give out the information) i'm just confused.

Just tell the Agent you need to see him, try and lure him with wanting to give him more money to try and expedite the Biometric process(wet his appetite), then make sure you have contacted some mean-looking, dreadful SARS OFFICERS to deal with him..You have been Scammed

@Odain101,

Sorry, but just like others said, it looks like you've been scammed. So sorry.

Very heartless humans everywhere. I hope you learnt your lessons and next time please learn to do the processing yourself.

Honestly the processing to Canada is quite easy (could be relative however you chose to define "easy" ) it just could be time consuming which is worth it eventually.

Even using a legit agency doesn't necessarily guarantee you a visa, it's clearly written on CIC website. So why spend all that money?

If you don't have a CIC account yet, I'd recommend you start from there and just go through the process yourself.

Let's just hope the agent hasn't created one under your name/identity with false information cos Canada never forgets and you might have some explanation to do when the time comes. But I'm guessing no information was ever transmitted to CIC (since it's a scam) so you might not need to worry about that. But yes, just double check.

There are lots of resources on CIC website and even here on Nairaland to read about PNP and Express entry. Try to go through it and ask people questions.

Every payment you'd need to do for Canada immigration processing will clearly be through redirection to a payment site from the CIC website. Anything outside of that is hmmmm!

All the best!

COVID-19 update: IRCC resuming processing of online applications for visitor visas and eTAs, but travel restrictions remain
Ottawa, June 30, 2020 – As of July 1, 2020, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will once again process online applications for visitor visas (including transit visas) and electronic travel authorizations (eTAs), to the extent possible.

Resuming processing and making final decisions where possible on visitor applications will help IRCC ensure future processing times aren’t significantly impacted and help expedite people’s travel when the travel restrictions are lifted.

However, due to current travel restrictions, applicants should keep in mind that, even if they apply and get a visitor visa or eTA, most people will not be able to travel to Canada at this time.

IRCC also continues to process study permit and work permit applications submitted online and permanent residence applications, to the extent possible. Paper applications for visitor visas, study permits and work permits will not be processed until further notice.

Measures have been put in place to make sure applicants have the time they need to complete all the steps in the application process, including giving their biometrics. Some visa application centres (VACs) are starting to reopen. Applicants can check the website for info on the VAC closest to them, so they can book an appointment to give their biometrics as soon as they’re able.

Those who are eligible to travel to Canada at this time must have a plan to quarantine for 14 days when they arrive in Canada. This is mandatory, even if they have no symptoms. Those who don’t have a plan should not travel to Canada.

We’ll continue to provide updates on further processing changes, including when the travel restrictions will be lifted.
