emmanuelewumi: Thanks for this post! If not for the dubious nature of Nigerian CEOs, management, staff etc. We should have at least 20 companies in this country posting this kind of returns. That would have changed dramatically the investment landscape in the country. |

megamart247: Those who bought First Bank, Guinness, Nigeria Brewery are okay. 1000 units of first bank bought at N3500 in 1993 grew to 56,000 units due to bonuses The bonus history of Nigeria brewery is far better than Nestle over the years. Nothing much about Union Bank, if the dividends earned over the years were diversified and reinvested the Investor should be okay. I just shared this to let people know that after having about 6 months to 12 months living expenses in money market funds, excess funds should be Invested in a business, FG Bond, stock market, real estate , Eurobond etc. If not the money will lose its value. Always good to invest and make sure the Investments generate income and cash flow 13 Likes 2 Shares |

mails4funshi: Possible if the economy grows, housing deficit of 20 million units is reduced, infrastructural deficits are addressed. Our population should clock 400 million in 40 years if the population growth rate is not addressed, the people will definitely need houses, schools etc 2 Likes |

emmanuelewumi: Sir, I hope u don't mind my newbie question. Does split increase value? I used to think that split results in dilution of share value. Example, if I own 20 shares at #10 each that is #200. For 1 in 2 split, 40 shares now worth #5 each and same #200. Looks like split is more advantageous to company, more share to sell later. |

ositadima1: Bonus shares are usually issued by growing companies,. Most banks have over bloated outstanding shares, so I don't think it is possible for them to offer bonus shares. If your business is not growing and you issue bonus shares, it will be of no effect. A business should be a to continue to pay the same or more dividend per share after a bonus share. Stanbic IBTC and Nigeria Brewery give Investors the opportunity to earn their dividends in either cash or shares 3 Likes 1 Share |

Uchetoba: They were not listed at 50k. You can't list a stock at its nominal value. Dead stocks were not even listed at 50k It was condition that made stock prices to fall to their nominal value prices of 50k, until NSE remove the cap, now stocks can fall below their nominal values. |

Justcul: You still need to continuously monitor the stocks at least 2 to 4 times a year, to see if the value is still there, the value is increasing, reducing or value has disappeared 2 Likes |
