rotecch77: This is what we are talking about! Rotech is NOT talking about "Fixex Charges" here but he is ready to negotiate a reasonable fee with the Nairalander. by the time he does two three houses in one month, that Carpenter that is charging #480K "fixed charge" will still be there sucking air into his mouth. @Muyi002, over to you. Please negotiate with Rotech77 and the good thing is that as a member here, we are also interested in ensuring that he does a good job for you though generally, he has always delivered good jobs. @Rotech77, make us proud and make we see pictures after o. 7 Likes |

One4me: I would give you a 24hrs lecture on contract law if you care to listen. I have an HND in Quantity Surveying , OND Civil Engineering , PgD Construction management & MSC (in view). If you are not aware, quantity surveyors can act as arbitrators .Have you ever heard of JCT? At the moment, I lead a 6man team of building professionals.(architects and builders inclusive) Our head office is at adekunle awobiyi close, Ogba, Lagos. With our branch office at ikorodu. Not everyone on this platform is a greedy hustler. If you had paid more attention, you would have noticed I said "we" not "I". 4 Likes |

Please you guys should let this go. You have both proved your point. The additional back and forth is really not necessary. I visit this page every day and I have learnt so much from it. I hardly comment too but I just had to do this. Please don't let it go further than this. 2 Likes 1 Share |

raymondFirstborn: If you like, gather the whole town together, you are coming across as a Professional Fraudster and Conman! BTW, that your Ogba office address has no number? Include the number, l want to bring you a #400K survey for half plot of land at Ikorodu. I am sure you used the OND Civil to gain entrance for HND Surveying, right? Which School is that sef. Any other 'documents' will be welcomed PS: Okay, l just saw the plea of someone now, so l will let you go but you are under observation. 2 Likes |

montee2: I did mine at Eti Osa on Walton Gate, Landwey Properties for about 220K. That was 2018. It's not outrageously high if he charges 250K in 2020 which I believe you may want to negotiate. Every professional has their own standard. That you get something very cheap doesn't make it a standard scale for works carried out . I think we should learn to use words appropriately not to make a professional service look like been outrageous. I may not wish to join words with people arguing here about professional fees and all that sorts. However, if one is sat down. The person would be schooled appropriately. Nairaland thread is meant to proffer advice and guide, not a place to call out those who carry out their works professionally as outrageous because someone else decides to do for far less. Services works are subject to some factors not explained here in details. Thanks 5 Likes 2 Shares |

One4me: You can kindly forward his contact address to me so I can contact him ONLY if there is a 400k job per plot to offer. His HND makes him a professional. I'm impressed. So far there is life, there is hope. |

raymondFirstborn: Don't quote is high. Be more constructive in your analysis. I saw your posts about surveyors. The soil test in my opinion is neither too high or too low. Once something doesn't suite a client, they jump in here to lash people. When it only favors them, they don't come here. Experiences with different clients here is not something one would always want to come here and share always coz it's not necessary. If am I put this to you. Just in survey and construction. "Are any two lands same" either by virtue of location, size or topography. The client that raise the first question here didn't specify the factors here. So don't jump into conclusion to quick. You may choose to disagree with me but that's OK. That's why we are all here. We all have different opinions to things and rightly so that's how it should be. But then, we should endeavor to strike a balance always. Thanks bro. We would finish up on Whatsapp as we normally do. 2 Likes |

@one4me Calling someone a "fraudster" and "con man" on a faceless forum is a dent on my public image, which could deter prospective clients from having future dealings with me.. So I would plead with you to take down or edit your previous post. To your last question I graduated from LASPOTECH. 1 Like |

That your last words catch my attention, "Let those that have money falling from the sky pay standard"... A client called me last week to quote for an electric fence-wire for 21m perimeter, quoting for that small perimer can be equivalent or almost equivalent to quoting for a plot of land due to the one core material(energizer), I have to explain everything to him and advice him to use barb wire instead of electric fence-wire...I know if I should give him quotation for that 21m without explaining to him, he might not see any atom of fact in it. Fortunately, he understand my explanation and he choose barb wire due to the cost quote author=Godisgreatest1 post=90433801] Good morning, You see, the document he posted containing the 'standard fee' is not new to me or to anyone that I know of. We know already. I have currently worked with 2 registered surveyors, in emphasis 'registered'. The payments made were far below the 'standard fee'. Lets just say maybe both of them are not members of the certified union, that I don't know, what matters to me is that they are registered and the documents are legitimate and up to date. It's common in building, i've heard of standard welders fee, that was how I was charged over 6million to construct protectors and stair rails for a 2 stories of 6nos of 2 beds. Or was it the tiler that told me standard fees story and billed me almost 600k as workmanship to tile a 4 bedroom bungalow, this one happened just last month am still recuperating. I manage funds and so I pay what I can afford and get the very best, maybe even better than what the standard fee covers. Let those that have money falling from the sky pay standard. That settles it. Good luck.[/quote] 2 Likes |

I apologize for the delay in posting some pics. My schedules have become so irregular due to the famous Covid-19. I just go past in hurry without remembering the pics until today. This building is about 48 years old and had this tiles done in the year 2000! Twenty years ago! This is exactly what am talking about. 1 Like
