Who else is monitoring the ongoing protests in the US. Carefully look at the kind of vehicles their military is deploying on streets to quell the protest. This is a common protest in which the protesters are armed with highest sticks, canned bottles, stones etc. but the US military is using Humvees for patrols, e get why o!!!! In Nigeria here it seems that we see nothing wrong in using Innoson/Toyota pickup trucks in a very volatile region. If we order for Humvees (even if it is 2nd hand) we go die? abi is the purchase of Humvees beyond our reach? make we sef dey reason this matter. There is no way a pickup truck not even the Buffalos are better than Humvees (From the perspective of personnel protect) I'll pick a light skin humvee over a Toyota pickup anyday/anytime. I saw a video of one of our Hilux vehicle doing "Screeches" abi na drift them dey call am with soldiers for back oo! if they don't hold something na to summersault fall for ground. The US has decommissioned most of the Humvees used in Iraq wars we can get them at reasonable cost or even for free of we play our politics right. Moreover they dashed Mali some of those vehicles sometimes last year. If we can't get them then we should tell Innoson and Proforce to copy and paste the design for mass production. We have to always but the welfare of the soldiers on ground at all times. We can't continue fighting like rebels from Libya and other Maghreb region. 9 Likes 1 Share |

PRESS RELEASE NIGERIAN ARMY TO TRACK AND NEUTRALIZE BHT/ISWAP TERRORISTS AND BANDITS IN BORNO, KATSINA AND SOKOTO STATES The Nigerian Army is deeply saddened by the unfortunate incident in which suspected retreating Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists with a few sleeper cells within communities ambushed and killed innocent women and children in Faduma Koloram village, Gubio LGA of Borno State. Already a large contingent of military personnel have been drafted in the general area to track and apprehend or neutralize the perpetrators. We have also mandated the Theatre Command, Operation LAFIYA DOLE to enhance security, dominate the area and reassure the affected communities of the Nigerian Army’s commitment to protect the population. The Nigerian Army equally notes with great concern about banditry incidents in some parts of the north western part of the county across Katsina, Sokoto and Zamfara States. It has come to our knowledge that some bandits are shifting base and venting their anger on hapless citizens because of the ongoing operations in Katsina State. While we sympathize with fellow Nigerians and the good people of Borno, Katsina, Sokoto and Zamfara States in particular, on these unfortunate incidents, we would like to assure all of our unrelenting effort in engaging with communities to rid our society of any and all remnants of these criminal elements. We would like to state further that the Nigerian Army in conjunction with Nigerian Air Force, sister service, other security agencies and the affected States governments, will make efforts to clear all known bandits hideouts in those states as more troops are being mobilized as directed by Mr President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. We would also like to assure that these types of heinous crimes will not go unpunished and will not be allowed anywhere in our country. We further wish to reiterate that the Nigerian Army is committed to investigate the circumstances of these callous attacks by desperate Boko Haram criminals and the bandits on innocent civilians. We would ensure that appropriate action is taken to mitigate against any future incidents. While thanking Nigerians for their understanding, we implore all to continue to support and cooperate with the troops as they carry out their duties. LTGEN:At least 12 district heads in eight local government areas in Katsina State have threatened to abandon their communities over the danger posed by bandits. District heads of Jibia, Safana, Dandume, Faskari, Sabuwa, Kankara, Danmusa and Batsari local government areas on Tuesday during a ‘protest’ visit to Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, disclosed plans to abandon their territories if the insecurity in the region was not urgently addressed by government. The district heads told the emir that they lived in constant fear of being killed and that the audacity of the bandits had made everyone vulnerable. The traditional heads particularly pointed out the recent murder of the District Head of ‘Yantumaki, Alhaji Atiku Maidabino, to show that they were all no longer safe. The rising cases of insecurity have displaced many households, forcing women and children to go about begging for food and other basic items to survive. http://saharareporters.com/2020/06/09/katsina-insecurity-12-district-heads-threaten-abandon-communities-over-activities-bandits 1 Like 2 Shares |

GeneralFarouq:They will if we make attempt to, I don't think anyone is thinking in that direction, shebi they dashed Mali Humvees last year.. the ones used in the 2003 Iraq wars have being decommissioned in US but it will be useful here. 1 Like |

FieldMarshall06:As long as we still use pickup then most def we need humvees... And am not saying humvee is the best in its class but it is better than pickup if for nothing else atleast against the elements (rain, sandstorm). Humvees should be the minimum By the way I've seen policemen fall off those pickups on Enroute a mission. As for Innoson/Proforce I think they have capacity but the military authority might be complaining of funds. |
Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by ugo4u: 10:05pm On Jun 10, 2020 |
Odunayaw:Yes, atleast against the elements, this is aside safety against accidents resulting from troops falling off a speeding/manoeuvring vehicle. |

#PressRelease OPERATION LAFIYA DOLE AIR TASK FORCE DESTROYS BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS’ HIDEOUT, NEUTRALIZES THEIR FIGHTERS AT KACHA KORLE IN SAMBISA FOREST AREA OF BORNO STATE 1. The Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has destroyed a Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) hideout and neutralised some of their fighters at Kacha Korle in the Sambisa Forest general area of Borno State. The operation was executed on 10 June 2020, following intelligence reports indicating that the location was being used as a staging area and meeting venue for the terrorists from where they planned and launched attacks against troops’ locations and civilian settlements within the Sector 1 Area of Responsibility, including the Maiduguri-Damaturu Highway. 2. Accordingly, the Air Task Force dispatched an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft and fighter jets to attack the hideout. Overhead the target area, many BHT fighters were observed in and around some prominent structures. These were engaged in successive passes by the attack aircraft leading to the destruction of some of the structures as well as the neutralization of several of the terrorists. 3. The Chief of the Air Staff has commended the Air Task Force and urged them to intensify the air offensive against the terrorists. The Defence Headquarters also salutes the courage and dedication of the Air Task Force working in concert with other security agencies and stakeholders towards the defeat of the criminals in the North East.
