You and who return to where?

Even with racism, average black man in yankee still lives a better life thank his counterpart in Yankee
Nobody is going back to no fatherland anything.
Now here's my position - you've heard it from the guy realblocboy posted, you've heard it from ibime: in UK, getting a white collar job as a black professional is still a challenge. Getting into the boardrooms as a black man is still a challenge. Getting a coaching job as UCL champions winner with multiple England caps is still a challenge.

This would be exactly the same case in America today....if they did not have guns

That's the real Koko here. All their protests have been against police brutality, against the militarisation of police, against police shooting first and asking questions last.

But when police work in a country where every 100 people has 120 legal guns and only God knows how many illegal, how can anyone realistically expect the police to stop shooting?
Whether the suspect of armed or not is irrelevant, as long as there is a reasonable suspicion that the guy has a gun.

The stupid country even lets people legally carry concealed weapons ffs. As long as this is in place, no right thinking police man will approach any incident without being ready to pull the trigger.....which is convenient for the racist cops.

When you don't have police brutality and high numbers of civilian owned guns to deal with, the kind of protest you see is the type we're seeing in UK.
Somebody went and saw statue of somebody who died 300 years ago, and pushed it inside the river - OK cool, but how does that help you get a job? How does that help you from being overlooked for promotion?
If you look at the Bristol video, most of the people rolling that statue into the water were White. They will tell you they are not racist, they have black friends, they pushed a statue inside a river....and they will tell you all this, whilst denying you a job, whilst not inviting you to interview because of the name on your CV, and whilst overlooking you for a promotion.

And that's my beef with protests.

Once again, I think we are in agreement that racism is a problem of the mentality.
You have pointed out that in the UK, it is more subtle than in America, the difference is the fact that gun is legal in the USA, hence the propensity for more dangerous and pronounced forms of racism.
I agree with you on this. These are very valid points.

But as usual, our differences lie in the solution to eradicating this menace called racism.
I am yet to understand your suggestion for a solution to permanently end racism globally.
At least i have presented a blue print as to how racism can end, you are yet to do that.
You keep pointing out that "blacks have to pull together" and i keep telling you that that statement is very vague. I have countered your statement by pointing out that blacks have already been pulling together for decades and have already succeeded tremendously in their goal for equality over the decades, things are much better now than they were 50 years ago, when blacks couldn't even be voted into public offices.

I have pointed out firmly that only with time can this problem be solved since it is a problem of mentality. With time, this insane notion that a race is better than another race will be shed, we only have to keep on creating awareness towards the situation, hence my support in protests.

How this guy and his group carried out this act will always be legendary. Sold a whole airport damn.

I actually knew this man in the mid-nineties. He was constructing a huge building on Toyin street, which I think later became an oceanic bank.

The guy used to roar up in a chassis SL600, what they used to call the beast

I think they used to call the man Mr Emrose those days.

It was only after I grew up that I realised the spectacular scam he pulled.

Make no mistake this man was a real goon though. He was fond of describing himself as the child of a dog and his mother, shortly before the threatened to wreck s nigga.

Our EFCC is an incompetent organization. They can't make charges stick on confirmed criminals ranging from corrupt politicians to yahoo boys. Maybe because they don't retain good prosecutors on their books o or maybe those ones get bribed and leak details of their investigations to the accused's defence attorney. I don't even know, but EFCC no dey try at all.

I wished that mompha issue was handled by any foreign agency and not our own EFCC. Just look at how Ibori's case was handled....I don't even know if it's judiciary system in Nigeria that is more corrupt or the EFCC. Somebody that was charged with 170 counts of corruption charges and none sticker shocked. He even tried to bribe Ribadu and the money was admitted as evidence yet Ibori walked

This country wey we dey, fear am o!

The first major problem is not EFCC but the judiciary. The way they hand out bail with reckless abandon. Look at all the politicians on trial and they all got bail with the same format. Form sick, go with walking stick or whatever and you get bail to travel abroad for “treatment” while adjoining the case for another 4-6 months.

When the time to start trial comes, you will start seeing different injunction against the court from left and right and you begin to ask yourself if the judiciary ain’t sabotaging the effort of cleaning the system.

If invictus obi was arrested in Nigeria, the court could have granted him bail by now and he will be walking free doing whatever he wants.

Until the judiciary is reformed, nothing will be accomplished.

I remember having this discussion with a senior colleague last year. He was adamant that the cleansing should start from the executive as they are the ones with the power. I believe if we have an upright judiciary, this country will be much better than this

Almost all the institutions in the country has been bastardized. Even those that are meant to do the check n balance are the ones giving the executive leeway to do whatever they like.

The Executive arm is the easiest target so everyone focus on them while the legislature and judiciary who are empowered constitutionally for check n balances do whatever they like. The Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) President is on trial for a 1.7 billion naira fraud and yet he’s still the President of the association attacking the FG from all angles claiming “witch hunt”. If the head of lawyers is on trial for fraud, you can guess what’s going on there.

Just look at the fiasco of OUK, it took years and taxpayers money to even get a conviction and it’s then the Supreme Court saw one technicality to “let him go free” citing errors from the ACJA. Funny enough these justices from the Supreme Court knew when the ACJA was drafted, debated on before been passed into law. After the judiciary left him off the hook “temporarily”, then the legislature embark on their own show of shame on that their useless solidarity visit. I just look at Lawan, Abariabe, Omo-Agege n co and shake my head. Tueh.

Ibime what do you think about this proposal to defund the police departments that is gaining steam and focus more on community policing.

A lot of people think it is a terrible idea but it seems it has been successful in places where it was done before eg. Camden.

Moreso, in Nigeria here, almost all towns and cities rely on their local vigilantes for security, this vigilantes patrol the areas every night and know most occupants of each house hence easily knowing the perpetrators of problems in the neighborhoods and have varying degrees of success in their security efforts.

This also exists in pockets of areas in the USA too.

So do you think it is a viable path forward?

Believe fast Eddie at your own peril. It will be extremely difficult to book a fight between AJ and Fury at the moment because;

1. AJ signed to fight one of his mandatory challengers, Pulev.

2. AJ has got another mandatory fight lined up against Usyk who would most likely not want to wait anymore.

3. Fury has got a trilogy to navigate against Bum squad.

If they can find a way to make the fight... my money will be on AJ, this is based mainly on AJ's punch variety straight right, uppercut and those sweet combos he has got in his locker. Also we saw how Otto Wallin roughed up Fury by taking the front foot and being a menace.

Fury will not be able to bully AJ like he did Wilder. He might give us a boxing clinic à la the Klitschko fight.
Fury's third fight with Wilder is the only problem I see here. The rest can be given a few millions to step aside as they don't matter in the grand scheme of things. Fury said as much

I will be very very hesitant to put money on AJ tbvh. We have not verified if his chin is as strong as Wilder's and also if he has the mental strength to soldier on if the fight isn't going his way. His gas tank is also suspect
