you can tell me what is 33% of 109,515km

Ghana total road network was 78,000km in 1980.
Update yourself.

Ghana is acknowledged internationally as having one of the best road networks in West Africa, with 109,515 km of roads, of which 13,787 km are major roads.

The Ghana Highway Authority has the mandate of constructing and maintenance of roads in the country and has done so by connecting national roads to all the major cities and towns of the country.

The road network is of primary and critical importance to the economy, with more than 95 per cent of people and 98 per cent of goods being transported by road.

Roads make a crucial contribution to the country’s economic development and growth and bring important social benefits.

Additionally, they are of vital importance in order to make a nation grow and develop. Its contribution to providing access to employment, social, health and education services makes a road network crucial in fighting poverty.

Indeed, roads open up more areas and stimulate economic and social development. For these reasons, road infrastructure is the most important of all public assets.

Therefore, maintaining road infrastructure is essential to preserve and enhance those benefits. However, it appears that most roads across that country lack maintenance which has resulted in irreversible deterioration of part of the road network in the country.

Insufficient maintenance and unmotorable roads are known to cause hardships, result in soaring cost of living and a major financial impact on the economy and citizens.

With this in mind, it is important for decision-makers to recognise that roads play a very vital role in the economic life of citizens, especially those in remote areas who experience difficulties transporting their goods, travelling from one point to another within the country or even catching up on new developments.

Improving the general road network in the rural areas is a measure to alleviate poverty. Beyond alleviation of poverty, the importance of rural roads extends to all aspects of development of rural communities including demand for and access to health, education, among others.

However, most rural roads in the country experience numerous challenges in their maintenance which is why we share in the concerns raised by citizens over poor roads in some parts of the country.

The latest to do that is the Paramount Chief of the Tongo Traditional Area, Tongraan Kugbilsong who appealed to the government to adopt accelerated approach to work on poor road networks in the Upper East Region.

This is not the first time that this concern is being raised. Many community leaders and individuals have raised issues about roads and we believe it is time they are tackled as a matter of national priority.

Maintenance and development of road networks offer economic benefits over the long term and that is why, we must take advantage of it and make life comfortable particularly, for those living in rural communities.

Ghana to construct five critical roads in the Upper West Region

The government of Ghana has announced plans to construct five critical in Upper West Region. Mr Amoako Atta, the Minister for Roads and Highways, disclosed the plans and said the development will be under the government’s Critical Roads Project.

“The President has directed the Minister of Finance to raise special funding to fund these critical projects across the country. We will also concentrate on routine maintenance of the roads all-year-round to make the roads serviceable in all three categories,” said Mr Amoako Atta.

The roads to be constructed include; the 31km Wa-Bulenga-Yala road, the 56km Fian-Issa-Wahabu road, the 41km Wahabu-Funsi-Yala road, the 20km Wechiau-Ga road and the 22km Wa-Han road.

Upon completion the roads are expected to open up the region for massive economic activity, thereby improving the lives of the people in the area. Additionally, all gravelled roads totalling about 5,200km in the Region would be graded before the onset of the rains in June 2020.

The Upper West Region has a total road network of 3,607km out of which about 540km was paved and 344km at both gravelled and earth stages. The Roads Minister further disclosed that 61% of roads under the Ghana Highways Authority (GHA) were good, while 38% are fair and 1% are in poor conditions. Under the Department of Urban Roads on the other hand, 30% of its roads were considered to be good, 7% fair and 63% are in poor conditions.

There are approximately 72,000km of roads in the country out of which 23% had been asphalted with 39% in good condition while the rest are classified as fair or poor.

You can keep quoting him despite the fact that he give a false figure and it wont make Kenya to have less roads than Ghana.

Just to add to your woes,
He also said 27% last year

Of the total road network of more than 780,000 kilometres under the portfolio of the Ministry of Roads and Highways, only 27 per cent are paved.

The paved roads are made up of trunk, feeder and urban with 41 per cent of the total network in good condition.

Mr Kwesi Amoako-Attah, the Minister of Roads and Highways, said this at the second Ghana-Japan High Quality Infrastructure Conference in Accra on Tuesday.

He said the figure had stagnated over the past five years due to dwindling budget allocations, but assured that the government under its transformational agenda was undertaking a novel way to improve on the infrastructure.

“Public Private Partnership (PPP) and other innovative Private Financing arrangements have been viewed by Ghana as a strategic way to harness the skills and finances of the private sector to deliver and close the gap in all the infrastructural sectors especially for road projects,” he said.

“The Government therefore continues to explore and refine these arrangements as a solution to developing roads along economically vital transport corridors. The development of infrastructure will also create jobs through the private sector,” Mr Amoako-Attah said.

Ghana’s medium-term goal, he explained, was to ensure a resilient built environment while safeguarding the natural environment.

Mr Amoako-Attah stated that the Government was clearing the backlog of outstanding bills and procuring new projects across the country through competitive tender processes.

Aside the roads sector, he said the Government was pursuing an aggressive program of streamlining business processes at the ports and in the public sector in order to attract and retain investors.

“All these measures are intended to create a business-friendly environment that will assure all investors of the security of their investments,” he noted.

Mr Samuel Atta Akyea, Minister for Works and Housing, said infrastructure roll out was capital intensive hence the need for partnership to invigorate the economy.

“Whenever there is a suffering economy the means to jumpstart it is through infrastructural development,” he said.

He said the housing deficit of the country had climb beyond two million and that the government was exploring avenue including using the pool of pension funds to finance housing.

Mr Akyea stated that the drainage system of Dr Kwame Nkrumah was weak and could not sustain the sprawling city of Accra and the government was taking effective steps to fix it.

“It is important to note that those who disregard issues of water and sanitation pay in high currency through health of the people,” he said.

Mr Tsutomu Himeno, Japanese Ambassador to Ghana, said after the first edition of the conference held in 2017, the interest of Japanese companies had been high and urged government to continue to create the conducive environment to enable them operate.

Ghana and Nigeria airlines were last seen because they had served their purpose and done.

Both Nigeria and Ghana were no longer the place where airlines wouldn't want to fly to again.
So there was no need of keeping a national airline in the airline market.

Taking them down freed up space for multiple private players to run even more profitable airlines and create more jobs.
