ATH: I charged it to 100% before I started my drain test. When it first arrived, it was about 40% charged. 1 Like |

adrusa: Wew! That's not fair, though like I said 5.8kwh is still not a bad deal capacity/cost wise but what is bad is for them to rate 7.5kwh yet you could only get 5.7. That is very bad of a company. Thanks for letting us know 2 Likes |

ojeysky: You are right. It is otherwise well and professionally packaged with standard, non-smart BMS. It puts the DIY setup we bought from some vendors to shame in terms of packaging and construction. It looks highly professional. I wish the BMS is smart, but I was told that felicity charge controllers and inverters can talk to the battery. I don't know if it is true. |

My friend bought 2pcs of 25.6v felicity. According to him, two of them gave him about 6 hours on 800w load. One died after 5 days. Cheap bms 1 Like |

JUO: 5 days? Hope it wasn't the cell that dead or it is BMS and the cells? |

JUO: Bad Market for investors.. Reason I said LifePO4 are still complicated at this stage, if you don't have the right charging and discharge profile, just use Lead acid for now.... 0.2V to 0.5V error can cause you the battery life 1 Like |

Dam5reey:blame Nigerians for looking for gold in the toilet, battleborn 12v/100ah is $900, ruixu 12v/100ah (Chinese) is $700 but Nigerians want to buy 24v/200ah for $600. Felicity knew Nigerians will fall for it 2 Likes |

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by adrusa: 7:06pm On Jun 11, 2020 |
Dam5reey: The most common problem that these batteries may have is the BMS and any battery including the expensive Battle Born can have problem with BMS. My plan is to replace the BMS with those Chinese BMS once it dies. Once the batteries are okay, I have nothing to worry about. I already bought spare BMS. I will feel better losing $600 Felicity battery than to lose $1200 BYD. I have no regret investing in these "cheap" Lithium. I can not pay the price people are asking for pylontech, BYD or Battleborn. I'm a poor civil servant. 5 Likes |

If you are interested please indicate. Capacity is 105ah/3.2v. Price is 30k for less than 8pcs and 27k for 8pcs and above
|
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by adrusa: 7:09pm On Jun 11, 2020 |
JUO: You are very wrong bros. It makes better economic sense to invest in these cheap Lithium in spite of all the "problem" than paying so much for so-called premium Lithium. |

Dam5reey: You're still getting it wrong. LFP is not complicated, Felicity messed up by declaring wrong capacity, firstly; and secondly the BMS that failed isn't a nail in the coffin of the battery itself. It's just to replace the darn thing and work goes on. As per the battery that died after 5 days, aside from the fact that the person may have abused the battery, a more plausible and likely reason is that Felicity did a bad job in the battery. If such company can declare false capacity, then I wouldn't take it past them that they could as well package rubbish/substandard stuff in that battery that failed. That being said, no amount of Felicity fails will make me romance lead acid again except maybe for small jobs and experimentations. I like the freedom and rest of mind I have from nursing a battery as if I'm nursing a patient on bed, ensuring it gets the yèyé periodic equalisation or getting worried if it's unable to achieve float in any one day. You will even need to be giving some distilled water as if it's one ancestral diety that receives palm oil drops and libation, haba! s'ógun l'ayé ni? And well, I just took delivery of two more 24v/105ah from a 9ja DIY supplier, one for me use and the other for a friend who also got interested in switching to LFP after his lead has served a little above 2 years. Well packaged even if not at a seeminly industrial look like the Felicity's but not bad nonetheless. Like someone said, if we are to have only battleborn (hear the name sef sound like war, na only warriors like earthrealm fit buy am) available, the closest majority of us would still have gotten to LFP is to discuss it. And even though I can manage to, but I would feel imprudent putting that much down on a product whose price is probably overrated because it's not widely available and because it's from the west. 7 Likes 1 Share |

How true is this claim LifePo4 battery can deep discharge till 100% DOD. Even the voltage goes down to nearly 0 volt shortly, it can still recharged to rated voltage
|
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by spartacus11(m): 12:19am On Jun 12, 2020 |
Lifepo4 seems to look easy to put together just like lead acid battery
|
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by ojeysky(m): 12:32am On Jun 12, 2020 |
spartacus11: While you can discharge a Lifepo4 to 100% capacity without major issues, it's not applicable to the voltage. If the voltage gets below 2.5v then the battery is toast. It's certainly doesn't look correct to me that you can discharge a Lifepo4 to bear 0 volts but you can discharge to hear zero capacity so long as you are still within the 3.6 to 2.5 band spartacus11: Lifepo4 is one of the most interesting to put together, just like the lead acid indeed. Just don't mix up the series/parallel arrangement of the cells. |
