Highlight Of Governor Ugwuanyi's 5 Year Term In Enugu by OEPHIUS(m): 11:03am On Jun 12, 2020
2020 DEMOCRACY DAY!

SOME OF THE MAJOR HIGHLIGHTS OF GOV. IFEANYI UGWUANYI’S FIVE-YEAR GIANT STRIDES IN ENUGU STATE

INTRODUCTION:

The 5th Anniversary of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi's administration in Enugu State offers an opportunity to reappraise the governor’s giant strides despite the avalanche of challenges befalling the state and the country…

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), on May 22, 2020, published its 2019 states' rank in internally generated revenue (IGR).

One of the states which recorded impressive performances, according to the report, was Enugu.

Enugu State, with no oil, was the 9th best performing state in terms of IGR. Its slightly over N31billion was good enough to beat all oil producing states except Rivers, Delta and Akwa Ibom.

What makes that record remarkable is that just four years earlier when Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State took over the mantle of leadership on May 29, 2015 the country was in recession following the drastic drop in crude oil prices in the international market.

Consequently, the state was confronted with paucity of funds, high inherited debt profile and other huge wage bills to be serviced.

Fast forward to Ugwuanyi's fifth anniversary in office and the tide has turned.

The country’s economic challenges adversely affected the state’s allocations from the federation account, to the extent that there were limited funds to attend to development issues and other sundry needs of the public.

Enugu’s purse grew leaner as federal allocations dwindled to an all-time low - a source of worry the past governor of the state, Mr Sullivan Chime acknowledged during a thanksgiving Mass to commemorate the end of his administration.

This posed a serious threat to the speedy actualisation of the governor’s vision for the state as contained in his administration’s four-point agenda.

The situation was so bad that 27 states, excluding Enugu, could not pay workers’ salaries, let alone embark on capital projects. One by one, governors resorted to bailout funds unlike their predecessors who had access to the excess crude oil funds which enabled them to execute sundry capital projects.

Despite all the challenges, Ugwuanyi remained undaunted and focused in his vision to build the Enugu State of the founding fathers’ dream, where everybody irrespective of class, religion or political association is given equal right to dividends of democracy, in a peaceful and secure environment
The results of his sheer dexterity and commitment are evident in his five-year stewardship as highlighted below:

Ugwuanyi is a thief. He has constructed a single dual road of 12km with minor bridges in 5 years.

This is what idiots are praising him for.

Compare what Ugwuanyi achieved with Dave or Obiano achievements and you will see who is a bigger thief. God will punish him for reversing Enugu state development and growth.

Umahi's three interchanges with dual lane of 22km in Abakiliki cost more than all the road projects this dunce did in Enugu.

We talk about education, Dave's school of nursing and EBSU college of medine in uburu defeats all the nonsense they are praising Ugwuanyi for.

Just look at the township stadium at nsukka and the one Dave built in abakiliki. Ugwuanyi is a thief.

Take a look at the Airport going on in Abakiliki and tell us what Ugwuanyi has achieved.

Take a look at the abakiliki international market and abakiliki shopping malls. What has Ugwuanyi done with over 700 billion naira budgeted in the past five years?

Ugwuanyi won't escape prison nor prosecution.

This guy got the most difficult job to do; lying.

The dishonorable commissioner for information was roasted during the popular political voices phone in program hosted by Dream FM. He even listed a 600meters road badly done as a 5km road.

My cousin went to UNTH and God saved his life. All the budget for Covid 19 response in UNTH is a farce.

Ugwuanyi has no legacy project and his praise singers know this including the Op.

OEPHIUS free to challenge me with facts.

That Ugwuanyi got 95% returning vote is not out of love or acceptance but for the factvthat there is no strong opposition in Enugu. He only rehabilitates roads and call them newly constructed.

I don't want to mention what he has reduced our local government chairmen to.

rawbish...Nigerians are jokers...a politicians aims for a seat to rule and he promise to do several things and after maybe 5 years he did just few of what he promised and we start highlighting his work that he was voted and payed to do and praising him...if ifeanyi media team sees this post, they inform him that his people are happy with this mediocre performance and he would decide to loot the remaining money meant for more projects afterall the people are happy...learnt in school dt constant criticism pushes leaders to do more but naija case jus different...pls stop blowing thier trumpets because of cheap peanuts u received or for sentiments sake, afterall those works are done with whats allocated to them and not with thier personal money....na the same hype una hype p.h.c.n dt time n now na total darkness...when naija go learn self??

The worst thing that can ever happen to you as a person is if all the people around are only praising you. My pastor will always say that you weary that you don't get praises on earth and tears in heaven. You will never grow. You will never be better or aspire to be. This is the situation of Enugu state now.

I am a witness to most of these projects.

Ugwuanyi might not be the best but surely not the worst. This is what I know.

Most critics do not know that Enugu does not start and end in the city.

A lot of neglected rural dwellers exists who ere remembered in his administration.

All I ask him to do again is to construct flyover bridge in Enugu and Nsukka at strategic places.
