OEPHIUS
2020 DEMOCRACY DAY!

SOME OF THE MAJOR HIGHLIGHTS OF GOV. IFEANYI UGWUANYI’S FIVE-YEAR GIANT STRIDES IN ENUGU STATE

INTRODUCTION:

The 5th Anniversary of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi's administration in Enugu State offers an opportunity to reappraise the governor’s giant strides despite the avalanche of challenges befalling the state and the country…

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), on May 22, 2020, published its 2019 states' rank in internally generated revenue (IGR).

One of the states which recorded impressive performances, according to the report, was Enugu.

Enugu State, with no oil, was the 9th best performing state in terms of IGR. Its slightly over N31billion was good enough to beat all oil producing states except Rivers, Delta and Akwa Ibom.

What makes that record remarkable is that just four years earlier when Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State took over the mantle of leadership on May 29, 2015 the country was in recession following the drastic drop in crude oil prices in the international market.

Consequently, the state was confronted with paucity of funds, high inherited debt profile and other huge wage bills to be serviced.

Fast forward to Ugwuanyi's fifth anniversary in office and the tide has turned.

The country’s economic challenges adversely affected the state’s allocations from the federation account, to the extent that there were limited funds to attend to development issues and other sundry needs of the public.

Enugu’s purse grew leaner as federal allocations dwindled to an all-time low - a source of worry the past governor of the state, Mr Sullivan Chime acknowledged during a thanksgiving Mass to commemorate the end of his administration.

This posed a serious threat to the speedy actualisation of the governor’s vision for the state as contained in his administration’s four-point agenda.

The situation was so bad that 27 states, excluding Enugu, could not pay workers’ salaries, let alone embark on capital projects. One by one, governors resorted to bailout funds unlike their predecessors who had access to the excess crude oil funds which enabled them to execute sundry capital projects.

Despite all the challenges, Ugwuanyi remained undaunted and focused in his vision to build the Enugu State of the founding fathers’ dream, where everybody irrespective of class, religion or political association is given equal right to dividends of democracy, in a peaceful and secure environment
The results of his sheer dexterity and commitment are evident in his five-year stewardship as highlighted below:

Ugwuanyi is a thief. He has constructed a single dual road of 12km with minor bridges in 5 years.

This is what idiots are praising him for.

Compare what Ugwuanyi achieved with Dave or Obiano achievements and you will see who is a bigger thief. God will punish him for reversing Enugu state development and growth.

Umahi's three interchanges with dual lane of 22km in Abakiliki cost more than all the road projects this dunce did in Enugu.

We talk about education, Dave's school of nursing and EBSU college of medine in uburu defeats all the nonsense they are praising Ugwuanyi for.

Just look at the township stadium at nsukka and the one Dave built in abakiliki. Ugwuanyi is a thief.

Take a look at the Airport going on in Abakiliki and tell us what Ugwuanyi has achieved.

Take a look at the abakiliki international market and abakiliki shopping malls. What has Ugwuanyi done with over 700 billion naira budgeted in the past five years?

Ugwuanyi won't escape prison nor prosecution.

Which 700 billion?

Sullivan Chime surely did well my brother. Probably more than him. But Sullivan never touched much of rural areas as he has done.
Sullivan may be better than him, I don't know but this guy has surely tried.

Security----Hardly do you have all these occultic fights, roberry etc
Education---Teachers are paid on time, even 13th month and some secondary schools renovated
Health- He is constructed a health facility at Orba and health workers are paid well
Roads-- Many roads already tared

and many more.

His comparison with Sullivan who modernised Enugu city puts him in bad light among the city dwellers.
They forget that Enugu city is not the only Enugu we have.

Wow my governor has really done well though It didn't end well between us when I served in his village as a youth corper, I'm gifted in arts, though I did engineering, I spent over 50k, did jobs that he didn't send me but just to appreciate him and I was expectant. I took risk, he collected the gifts and was very happy he promised to call but unfortunately till date he has not called till I left the place since 2018. When ever I see his pictures I have mixed feelings.

It seems that you are describing Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano here. At least Ugwuanyi is doing something for his state while Obiano is doing nothing but appointing his girlfriends like d lady Sally in green and white headtie (below) into Commissioners positions, expensive shopping sprees of designer goods with his husband slapping wife Ebele Obiano and the scam Airport project at his community at Umueri, near Aguleri, costing billions according to him, but is actually a poorly constructed stretch that he is calling a tarmac where no plane will be able to land safely.
He has also devalued the life of citizens of Anambra State. Even his wife glasses is worth more than that.
