First of all I made reference to the Toyota gun trucks, which are in general recognised as the very durable and resilient 70 Series Toyota Land cruiser double cab pick-up. They are modified for military use and if it's the diesel derivative it will have a 4.2 diesel with a huge amount of torque.

The Current model is the series 79. I know it retails in Europe in excess of £50k in its base model. I would expect that if you are buying in multiples of 200 from manufacturers you should able to get a degree of wholesale discount.

At what stage did l make reference to the Toyota Hilux
Exactly my point. You're quoting figures that's out of context. Who says we use the "current model". You're even shooting your own post down. Even if we used this 'current model', you yourself says its around 50k. Where did you pull out the assertive 60k quote in your last post if not from your hairy armpit.

Yes I do know a BTR -60, as well as the multiple designations that have been manufactured across the entire former Eastern block.

Production of the BTR 60 ended in about 1980, Polish variant OT64, Romanian Tab71, The Ukrainian have thier own designation of the BTR.

Nigeria did procure in my opinion the much better BTR -3 in terms of it armour and mine protection. But again not in enough numbers maybe the NA has about 50 I really don't know. Shockingly we procured only 4 of the more modern BTR-4.

From the limited pictures and angle of view l can say l am almost 90% certain it is a BTR -60. For you to contend with me with such disdain implies you think am WRONG. Can you please educate us any tell what it is please the possibility exits I could be very wrong.
Tears. When you excrete, be a man and own it. The pictures DO NOT look like a BTR-60.

The context was that particularly the BTR 80 cam be procured used at either a lower or comparable price of a brand new Toyota gun truck.
Yeah your "context" ramblings. The conversation becomes a raccoon fight when you inflate the price of a Toyota (Especially the Landcruiser and Hilux we use!) just to drive your point on the BTR 80

Finally, l see nothing wrong with oil rich Nigeria and the NA having at least 30,000 NVG to be issued to NA combatants which would more or less make it standard issue. Why can't we be the first in Africa

As well as having a more precision minded assault rifle with optics as standard. Time to leave the AK47 behind in history.
Exactly, everyone sees nothing wrong. But I asked you a simple question based on militaries in Africa with more money at their disposal. Heck! NVG wasn't standard for the Brits in Afghan and Iraq.

I'd let the vitriolic insults you started with slide.

People like only come once in a while and the only thing you do best his to troll. Tell me how my attitude is been notorious or been “over sabi pass” !
Your state of bewilderment his so questioning that one should ask if what you stated now should be directed towards your companion who stated the thread would explode over what ?

Your fellow companion claimed 5 L.G.A are under the control of ISWAP, which is no news for any body who is Borno or around north-eastern part of the country. Baga is a town like Alangono under Kukawa L.G.A.
This 5 local government that been occupied by ISWAP was a deliberate effort in pushing back terrorist activity and occupation, towards the northern part/lake chad area ! A strategy that I must say failed or back fire.

The absence of civilians in these LG area was deliberate by the military because of terrorist activities. Not only that fishing selling in Baga has been banned for 5years so what do you expect them to be doing, when there major occupation and means of livelihood has be banned.

ISWAP controls trade, imposes taxes and facilitates agricultural activities in the area.
Military efforts to eliminate the group’s funding source have had the unintended consequence of endangering civilian livelihoods. This has encouraged people to find creative ways to circumvent government controls, with the help of ISWAP.

The five-year ban on using the Maiduguri-Monguno-Baga and Maiduguri-Gamboru-Ngala roads to transport fish in Borno State is one strategy to counter Boko Haram’s dependence on fish trading. Both community and military sources have reported the seizure, burning and diversion of fish consignments by government forces along these routes. This has often been accompanied by the arrest and detention of fish traders on suspicion of supporting Boko Haram.

This approach has brought socioeconomic hardship to communities, exacerbated unemployment, and caused increases in fish prices and inactivity in this 5 L.G.A .
Abadam
Kukawa
Marte
Monguno
And Guzamala

Buhari said all Local Government indigenes have returned to their LGAs from reports of Buratai.
Why didn't Buratai state that 5 LGAs are no go areas for now grin

I countered it by mentioning five LGAs that has no civilians.

Considering the bold you presented that's simply a nonsensical proposition with absolutely no substance. As well as devoid of any rationality.
You can go and bicker to someone who cares about you. NATO armies and the Almighty US standardizing ROLES on one platform don't know what they're doing.

Do you know how many different armoured vehicle variants Moroccan, Egypt, Algeria, Israel, UAE, Saudi A, have.
See your tomfoolery? UAE, Saudi, Egypt as a standard of logistic efficiency. What a joke. And what many different variants do Israel (only country worth mentioning) have?

MRAP's still have their use we say mission specific different missions require different vehicles.
An MRAP is nothing more than an APC WITH better protection against Mines/IEDs. And that is why sane countries have even IEDs with mrap-class IED protection. Do i need to dumb down what I'm saying so you can understand?

Can even begin to imagine the impact just 500 MRAP'S will have on the NA. Then add to that you got them for FREE that is dash. If you can't appreciate that then I'm lost for words where you are concerned.

Go back to my submission l used the term HERE and NOW we don't have time to wait for years to produce locally. Every day combatants are putting thier lives at risk getting captured as the rude in suicide soft skinned pick to trucks.

We need the equipment Now not even tomorrow.

That's why you procure used but still very much effective and capable. So you can have it NOW.

It would take less than a month to have 1000 different armoured vehicle platforms sourced from the Eastern block deployed in the NE.
You confuse yourself while trying to look smart. You shot down someone's idea citing Aras weight and U-turn to want EDAs (Mraps) that are in the same weight class. That's the excrement I am addressing.

Its this type of regressive thinking that made some very ill advised and down right inept decision. To procure 12 turboprop aircraft A29 with now we know from the contract specifications limited impact in 2018 that we will not see the first aircraft until the end of the Year and the in completion in 2024.

Who goes out to buy aircraft when you are fighting an existential insurgency with huge losses. That will take you 6 years to receive.

Is that not madness sorry to say.
If you had good grasp of English, I'm sure "completion" shouldn't be hard to understand. But freely I'd help you. If 11 of the 12 comes before 2024, it still means there'd be completion by 2024. As it stands, we need a minimum of 3/4 to start doing missions and except you know how many we'd be receiving yearly TILL THE COMPLETION, you'd soon catch a fever over thinking.

The above is the lies and why this war might not come to an end.

Buhari said all Local Governments have been reclaimed and Civilians back to their abode.
But these Local Governments (Marte, Gudzamala,Kukawa,Abadam and Baga ) indigenes have not returned. They are still in IDP camps in Monguno and Maiduguri cool

Anyone in Northeast to counter my post on this Local Government Areas?

Buhari enjoy the reports from top military brats.
Sam, help me get something. If there was like, truth, in the newspaper. The war would have come to an end ba?

Yes. Why will you report to Buhari that all indigenes are back to their LGA? I now mentioned 5 LGAs I know very well are still in
IDP camps in Monguno and Maiduguri because I use this information in my reports to donors. Someone here is so bitter running up and down as to why I said the truth.

The issue is the top men are not saying the truth. I don't understand how Buhari believes all this findings without doing his own personal or internal investigation.

Buhari should be speaking more in close confidentiality with Professor Zulum. This year one of the LGAs Marte the Governor felt it was time to resettle to the People back to Marte. The villagers went on bush clearing there in Marte and returned back to Monguno.

A week after that ISWAP started dancing around that LGA even came close to the Monguno- Marte road and we're shooting in the air.

The Governor got this reports and immediately stopped the resettlement plan stating clearly that he cannot send his people to a slaughter house.

I have been in Borno since 2016 till date. Some top peeps are hiding the truth baba. The day they abducted the personnel I said it here before it even got to the media houses. Imagine ISWAP came out with 11 Guntrucks on a road for two hours doing "operation show your ID".

It will never be well for those elongating and benefiting from this war. May God in Heaven continually punish them and their associates.

Two days ago ISWAP tried attacking Monguno but we're repelled. Na ISWAP still dey find us come after we have killed over 1500 on newspaper?

Go and tell any Youth in Borno that since last three weeks that Army has killed over 1500 terrorist and wait for his reply.

And we are not talking about people returning to their villages oh. We are talking about people returning to their Local Government headquarters town.

Most Local Governments headquarters are occupied by the Military, that is why you can be an indegene of a village in Monguno and stay in an IDP camp in Monguno town cos your village is still occupied by these bastard Terrorist.

Grim stuff. But you missed what I asked.

Will the truth in the newspaper end things? I don't want to believe Buhari doesn't know what's going, it's his and other politician/military sluggishness that is not ending thing. The truth not being in the papers doesn't mean those in Aso don't know what's up. A liar cannot lie to himself, can he?

Let me tell you the truth it is easier to decimate them when they come out in numbers. After and attack they split into several villages and Airforce might find it hard killing them in numbers.

I believe there should be a joint massive operation villages by villages with coordination by both Airforce and Army. There should be a massive sweeping of those villages. We need a very massive operation. Like a Do or die operation and stop all Civilian vehicular movements around Borno north for the time being

Honestly they would have made meaningful impact by commenting or making there plights/complains known on verified social media handle of military pages. Coming here to cry like babies like say military hierarchy them dey here undecided sad
they do it thinking that they re hurting our feelings or getting at us..

Otherwise tell me why a human being will only surface when he has bad news to share.. isn't that a sign of mental derogation?

Cry from now till tommorow, all our opinion doesn't cross the roof of this thread.. if you wanna impact something meaningful for the sake of coin..then channel your energy to the appropriate quarters or else leave us readers alone to enjoy the beauty of the African military..
