Good day Elders,

Please I am a new member here and I’ve been reading up a lot. I have a strong concern about my intention to relocate with my family.

It is that my husband has one rejection and a life ban from the US and I don’t know if this will clog or affect our being able to sail through with a Canadian PR. We have all and every intention of disclosing all but I am not sure of how it plays out with Canada. Please how do I address this situation in the application? Has this affected anyone positively or negatively?

Thank you all.

I'm a bit confused and I need advice please.
So I just got my ielts result today and my scores were LRWS 8.5 8.5 7.5 7. Meaning I maxed out all the sections apart from speaking. I expected more from the speaking cos I'm sure I talked better than the 7 I was given.
Anyways, I created my express entry profile and got 478. If I had maxed out my speaking it would have been 481.

So my question, is with the very high scores of recent express entry draws, should I immediately apply for remark of my speaking so as to potentially max it out or I should wait for the draws to be made. Bearing in mind, one only has 6 weeks from the date of result release to apply.

You know, you have already answered your own question or are you just waiting for someome to validate the answer you have given yourself?lolz. If you are confident you did better in speaking, then request for a remark ASAP... Y wait when u know the window to ask for a remark is only 6 weeks??

It has nothing to do with your EE application, I know someone denied US visa 3X, his PR was so smooth.. No obstacle

In my opinion, I think the VO's first call in verifying the existence of any company in Nigeria is by visiting CAC company public search portal:

https:// publicsearch .cac .gov .ng/ComSearch

All registered business names, public liability companies, limited by shares or unlimited companies, ngo, etc, in Nigeria can be found using CAC public search portal.

The VO would be able to see the full name of the company, RC/BN number, date registered, and address.

Worthy of note is that not all registered businesses, companies and firms in Nigeria can be found there. Some were registered before CAC went online and those ones were never updated there. As a result, most top firms aren't discoverable by using this public search. They know this, so the go to tool for them is Google search and what you submitted if it's not on google.

To me, u should be happy and celebrating already, 478 or 481 u re in GOOD standing, except you have so much money to blow, because it won't have any effect.

Canada PR application is like a clean slate for people. All you need to do is to disclose fully, as you have planned. State everything from date to day. Worst that can happen, which is just a guess cos no one knows anything on it, is that your application could take longer time to process. Just come clean.

So sorry to hear about the life ban, the truth is that no two applications are the same. The only thing I can advice is provide all the information on your profile accurately. IRCC does not joke with travel history especially with things like receiving a life ban from a country. Someone got rejected because somehow he withheld that he went to the U.S or so.
Withholding information will do you more harm honestly. So tell them the reason for the rejection, I see no reason why they would not approve it. I doubt your husband was a terrorist or a threat to the United States. So any other reason i feel they should consider him. Just do not withhold this kind of information. No way around it because they will find out eventually.

Lool if I have 478, I wont bother. That's me o. Yes, scores are high, true, but e no go high like that. You will definitely get ITA in the first or second draw whenever it starts. Except age is a problem for you. I can't find strength to tell you to apply for remark grin

Hi,

Abeg, I need the help of any Canadian PR living in Newfoundland. My niece got admitted to Memorial University of Newfoundland and wants to apply for study permit but she's 17 and needs a custodian to sign and notarize the custodian form.

Hi everyone,

I called compunet to make some enquiry on BCS certificate in IT and I was told that the exam fee is 70k and the training would cost 100k so that’s a total of 170k. It’s quite much o so I’d like to know if it’s a good deal and if I need to join the training to pass the exam or just search for materials on my own cos I need a certificate in addition to my BSc to boost my score.

Please How can I join this group. I'm headed to Ontario too.

Triplezero50:

Hi. Thank you for doing this.
There's a group of us planning to settle in Ontario very soon, by God's grace. We are already at the tail end of the wait, hopefully VFS opens soon and we move. Since you asked us to suggest a date and time, we will not mind having this zoom meeting next Sunday, June 14th, at 6pm. Don't know what others here may suggest. Whatever date and time is finally picked will be fine. Once the link and final schedule is available, I will share it with the rest of the group.
I'm sure there are lots of questions we want to ask you. I will be posting some of them subsequently. Let me ask the group about this and revert.
Again, thank you!

PS: We wouldn't mind you joining us in the group as it was created to get landed folks to help us with much needed info, clarity, and advice. We already got it going and so far, it's been great. We hope to keep the momentum going and pay it forward to those coming behind us after we land too. Let me know what you think please.

Just got my IELTS result.
LRWS- 9, 8.5, 7, 8
I was super scared of writing because i did not have time to check for errors and was super nervous while writing. I even changed "Yours Faithfully" to "Yours Faithfuly" after convincing myself it is supposed to be single L. But i was confident of paraphrasing, answering all task, relevant examples and word count.
I hope for favourable draw.
And success in all our canny journey.
Happy weekend everyone

I just spoke with someone on this and he told me that the outcome of your application will depend on the offence, is it a criminal or security issue? He also mentioned that he knows of someone deported from the UK and the fellow got PR, he mentioned someone that had a DUI in UK, getting PR too. Good luck and if you're willing to share more details, I'm sure the knowledgeable ones will help you out. Cheers
