I must admitted the military had been stingy with info, but now they realize that PR win wars, but it's unfortunate that the information release by the military has always been met with suspicion by the Nigerian media, and her citizens, BHT don't even have to stress, drop a video and in no time it's on Sahara reporter's page, always from their 'sources' it has it's 'desired' effect because bad news sales better.
In fact bro. But when you call them out, they'd say you're FG's fan

What do you think the Federal Government can do in solving this porous border issue?

We can’t build walls neither do we have the resources because of the vast span of our borders.
-I propose we invest a lot in drones, drones with long loiter hours that can give ground troops or patrol team an ample time/event of what is happening. Thereby reducing cost/resources generated has a result of patrols.
-Create specialized F.O.B/Super camps at equi-distance along border lines where patrol teams will operate from and we have to give a dedicated air wing to fire support, insertion & evacuation of troops/W.I.A and other logistic supplies.
We have the money, we Can do it !

And after some years, the drones will have to be retired and replaced and you will have to start spending all over again. Spend large now and forget about the issue once and for all.

Why would they be retired !!!!
The Military we have now is deferent from what we have before, especially the air force hierarchy.
Have we retired any drone before ?

The Military should do a massive house to house search in Monguno. Some of the locals are still sympathisers.

Meanwhile it seems the new leadership of ISWAP has resorted to killing innocent Civilians indiscriminately.

God thank you for pulling me out of that Borno North. My current location is very relaxed grin Even some soldiers and police can stroll around here without their firearms grin grin

I knew it was only a matter of time before ISWAP also turn to Boko Haram. It is a serious sign of desperation. Terrorists generally have a way of justifying their evil acts. We should be expecting an uptick in their use of children for their suicide attacks.

MEET THE NIGERIAN NAVY PERSONNEL WHO GUNNED DOWN FIVE ARMED ROBBERS IN CALABAR

Mohammed Mubarak is a sea man, a gallant marksman and a skillful Navy Personnel. His display during the encounter with armed men that attacked Uddy King Filling Station in Calabar some time ago has gained him recognitions and awards.

He recently received a Gold Medal award from the Eastern Naval Command of the Nigerian Navy in Calabar for displaying such gallantry and bravery act in bringing down the bandits.

Mubarak was said to have returned fire in the defence of himself and passerby and his courage and marksmanship even in the adverse conditions led to the killing of the 5-man gang and seizure of their weapons.

The Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command, who presented him with the Gold Medal Award, said the Gold Medal Award is for any personnel that distinguish themselves for bravery and gallantry.

If the Nigerian Navy or other Security agencies in the country can have skillful, gallant men like Mubarak, robbery and other criminal activities would reduce and peace returned to the country.

The issue of Robbery, Kidnapping and Killing has become a usual activity in the Country as the security system is porous, posing threat and fear in the minds of Nigerians as no one knows who could be the next victim

First question, what type of gun were the robbers using?
He isnt sbs, since the start of this insurgency navy basic training has placed higher emphasis on field crafts and tactics, an average navy sailor has basic infantry training, unless the standard has dropped again within the last 3 years.

I can't blame anyone for their cynicism, it is as a result of decades of institutionalized corruption, I'm just saying that sometimes, it's unwarranted

Concerning the borders I think we need a string of bases along the border, just like beads in prayer beads. Every 3 bases should have a super base after. Each base should have an observation mast that looks deep into our neighbours territory,it should be manned by snipers and have opto-electronic with FLIR remote sensors. The smaller bases should be defended with artillery from the super base and all should be within range of helio gunships.
