Samisha500:What level of literacy? Being able to navigate pages and knowing what to do on the windows is a level of computer literacy. But being able to type 50AWPM is another level entirely not to talk of how to fix some mathematical functions. In my view, the video came rather late. |

pongwa: First, the programme is not starting this semester but next semester. From the admission list released before the lock down, I saw only one person cleared. So, if you didn't get the mail confirming your admission, you are not alone and it doesn't mean you have been denied admission. The rest applicants will be attended to and they will commence the programme by coming semester. |

I want to know something.. Those courses I see when I mistakenly click 100L or 200L while registering for courses, am I supposed to go back to register and write them when they were not there when I did those levels? If yes, that is very unfair of NOUN. |

I am indeed very much impressed by the superb innovation from the National Open University of Nigeria on the introduction of virtual examination as a mode of examination. This shows that the National Open University of Nigeria is really for Open and Distant Learning. Afer seeing the video on the procedure to sit for the virtual exam, I cannot but say that I am proud to be a student of the university. Students taking examinations this semester should leverage on this awesome innovation. Of course not many students would be able to meet the requirements of an internet connection of 156kbps, a PC or Laptop with webcam and microphone and an updated browser (Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox) In my opinion, the virtual exam is not very much different from many online exams except that students are being monitored. It isn't also different from the e-exam except that it now involve essay questions. The fear of many students now is that this is a new form of examination that they are not used to coupled with the natural fear that comes with examinations. Again, those who meet the requirements stated should go ahead and save themselves of the travel time to and from exam venue, the stress associated with having to arrive early for exam and waiting for exam and also reduce the chances of contracting covid-19 I will advise that interested students should go through the information on the website provided by the directorate of examinations and assessments on the mode of the virtual examination, how to register for the exam and also watch the video to gain a proper understanding of the process and allay their fears. While the virtual exam may have been occasioned by the emergence of the coronavirus, we should note that the student population of the National Open University of Nigeria is increasing and as such students should start to embrace and feel comfortable with such innovations. We should show that we are really students in that we are ready to learn and embrace new things. Once again, on this great innovation, I am proud to be a student of the National Open University of Nigeria. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Pegzzyg:Please, in 2 - 3 months time, remember to update us about how your NOUN transcript application went NOUN transcript application don cause depression for many NOUN students & Alumni oo. Imagine paying 25k for your transcript to be sent to a school you're applying abroad and after over 3 months of waiting, your school application deadline elapses and NOUN are still yet to send, worse is they won't even reply your email to give you any explanation and when you're lucky enough for them to pick your call, they wont even ask for your Mat No or any details before telling you that they are working on it, then call ended. I wish you the best though. But if I were you, I would rather go directly to the Registrar's office in Abuja with all the required documents. |

Pegzzyg:In that case, you have to wait until government lifts the lockdown on educational institutions before you travel to Abuja |

Learnt school is opened for certificate collection purposes, wants to be tripple sure is why I am enquiring here, already mailed academic records too for inquiry, awaiting feedback. I wish someone here stays close to the school at Abuja & can reconfirm status though! Will be double-sure before I embark on my trip anyways. I urgently need my certificate next month! Pegzzyg: Please contact your centre if your certificate is there. I got informed some certificates have been sent. I also confirmed that you can't go to the Headquarters to collect certificates for now. All certificates will be at the centre immediately after lockdown. For now, they sent some. So please try to confirm if yours is there. Thank you |

lexdino: Mine is sorted though. Transcript issue resolved. What I discovered is that we don't always want to work as a group (the alumni or students) to resolve things (I was pained because of this). That is one of the reasons I gave up on concerted effort and focused on personal hustle. I happen to be the generous type. But if you know how to hustle hard enough to achieve it, it will happen. That's all I can say. |

Ribasandez: I agree with the bolded to some extent. You can't blame the students for that anyway, NOUN was meant to help students achieve their educational ambitions in what I like to call "individual isolation" (don't know if that's the best word for it though) therefore, most students never had the chance to learn or familiarize themselves with working together as a group with their fellow students. Meanwhile, if you can be generous enough to explain how you were able to finally sort out your own transcript issue, I think you should also share it here on the forum so that others can also learn one or two things from your experience. 1 Like |
