It is a life time lesson Charlie
When you drag people into mud, don't expect to come out from it without stains. In fact you may never come out of it, u could be stuck waist deep more especially in deepwater

Niccur ventured and dabbled into something greater than him, he would be called out 247. No holds back, forming silence at this stage would never indicate a truce. because when the gongs of war was beaten, he actually did hit on it so hard ( a thread against canada vehicles was opened to ruin the hustle of an innocent man in a foreign land. Indeed black life matter) he tore the gong but iron must still make noise, any how e be ogoro must jump! Na so them talk am for warfi dat year

okay but does two wrong make a right?

@Nurey - the reality is sad but true. We have to do better than coming online to fight everyday, I mean you flip through pages hoping to find a sweet deal and end up reading vitriol.

@deepwater - let it go. It's quite common on here for car threads to degenerate into name-calling, we've all seen our fair share and at one time or another even participated in it - the average Nigerian considers a car as an investment, therein lies the crux of this matter. A car is a liability unless it makes you money and even if it does, there's still the small issue of depreciation to contend with. I've had issues with plenty people on here, and so far so good the diplomatic approach hasn't failed me. E no get wer e reach but las las we dey always settle am.

The major players in this e-fight should take a one month break. By all means, people should criticise constructively and avoid veiled comments. I saw HeavenlyBang's take and as long as he kept it 100, I had no problem with that. The GMechanic raised his concerns in a tone-deaf manner, he offered knowledge no doubt but in a condescending manner - this cannot be tolerated in a business thread. I know, but it's been how many days now? And we are still on that issue.

We need the mods to maintain sanity here.

The problem here is that there's some sort of cult mentality going on. How did Cartalk become a we vs them situation? I can't quite understand why people are so keen to defend or attack others here--on behalf of others--without any gain at all to them.

Gazz.uzz, Radu, AMD.man. Wtf, why do people feel so inclined to defend/attack others in their business? Let them handle their business, you're not getting paid to defend their interests.

I've done business with dozens of nairalanders. Phones, cars, gadgets, parts, forex trading. Never have I ever decided to take someone's side just because I enjoyed doing business with them. The herd mentality is sickening.

This thread would be better off with only the OP being able to post. That, or stricter moderation. It's a cesspool as it is right now.

I'm not jumping into conclusions. I don't care what Amd.man typically does or used to do. All I care about is what's going on right now, and he failed to state that it's a hybrid. Him possibly clarifying that it is sometime in the future is none of my business
You don't jump into conclusion yet your tone here sounds as if you were instructed to come and tackle him, even for the fact that Amdman always state that all advert here is only base on sellers discretion, it is when people show interest he will then go for inspection Hypocrite

Sounds like a you problem. I'm an engineer, I deal with facts.

Did he state it was a hybrid? No.
Would he possibly have clarified in the future? Maybe. But that's not any of my business because, as I said, I don't deal with hypotheticals.

Now run along.

Why do some supposed adults spend chunk of their times daily fighting on another man's behalf?

I hate this sycophancy. If anyone has a review about a deal or car posted here, bad or good, he/she should feel free to do that without the fear of being mobbed.

Many of you have done the task of DEFENDING and SALAYE than OP himself.

You might have had a sweet deal with OP, that hasn't made someone who has a contrary experience a liar or saboteur.

That someone gives a bad review about OP hasn't made amdman a bad bizman, it might just be one deal out of hundreds gone wrong.

It is fine to come here and share whatever experience one has with amdman, it is also fine to give a review about any car posted here, as long as the review is correct. Most sale threads will have someone who has a contrary view about the product, either the price or the state of the product. It is not always about jealousy or anything.

This bantering and unnecessary ass-licking is sickening.

More sales to you, amdman.

You were called out because of this post. And instead of tendering an apology for the misinformation and correcting your post you decided to post more.

Ok let's see your robust response .

amdman:
POINTS TO NOTE

1. Pictures we post are mostly before inspection. Buyer will get more pictures and video after inspection, before purchase. The picture is the advert that attracts the client.

2. We do not buy all the cars we inspect. obviously , car might have been sold or have defects

3. If there is any issue we observe on inspection that was not previously disclosed, we refer to buyer to decide on the way forward. This is the standard expected

4. We drive almost all of the cars we buy to the warehouse for shipping. Till date, we have not had a case where any broke down on the way. We will not risk our lives to drive a defective vehicle because of small financial margins. cheaper do drive than to tow

5. We do not use marketing gimmicks to persuade buyers. We disclose all issues known to us. This is where I do not agree with you.

6. If we don't think the deal is a good one, we will tell you. If we don't perceive you will get value for your money, we will tell you as well.

Over a hundred cars and counting... and we are still here.

The pic you posted about the Camry did not fall from the sky, you were also not in the area and took the pic your self. You got the picture from a site and the crash information on that vehicle was stated clearly . The site listed every known defect, but you decided to use a marketing gimmick to make your product easier to sell, you mentioned just 1 of the defects that would cost less than ₦15,000 to fix and left the others.

If you were another cardealer on Nairaland like calculux or gazuzz you would have been roasted for not providing full disclosure, but because the zombies that litter this thread thinking that you can never be wrong most people are afraid to call you out.

The meaning of full disclosure has not changed. Yes you are not a mechanic, but obviously you know how to read.

Same goes for the hybrid . It was also clearly stated hybrid even before you were able to copy the pictures.

This are just 2 vehicles out of several.

I will stop here.

Let those who want to bash bash I will continue if I feel like.

This is getting nauseating. Amdman, post your cars, who will buy will buy. And for everyone who cares to know. Most orders and purchases are from referrals and not much from Nairaland. I know this, I have referred several others who are not even Nairalanders.
And as for the proxy mechanical engineers, we will keep buying from amdman. Make una go die. Funny enough they claim to be prospective buyers. Idiots. We will not buy from BCD

We all know who he is and why he is doing this. The one with "obvious camber out of spec" is incorrect. The one with "rust" had pictures and also hadn't undergone inspection which he usually does after a request. It likely does but from everything óp has written in the past, would be inspected upon request and disclosed if present. Op has also always been clear that he works with third party information. So if the third party doesn't mention hybrid and he is not a tech like us, he likely won't know till he goes to see it.

There is a difference between "you may want to check for rust or front right damage" and "this car has front right damage". To make it seem like he's intentionally obscuring is wrong and the same tactics were attempted against me in the past by the same individual.

What this person (again, who we know hates not having the limelight) is doing is speculating without an inspection.

Fact of the matter is someone is bitter.

Madam you claimed that the suspension having front right damage was incorrect. Are you aware that someone has posted the information directly from where Amdman sourced the picture from? The seller stated all known faults but in his own Ad, he chose to only disclose side mirror fault Infact the Suspension damage is in the heading of the car ad.
Before you fans come and say maybe someone sent him the picture, I know for a fact that asides from other sources, he gets cars from websites like autotrader and Kijiji.

THE PEOPLE ATTACKING AMDMAN CLEARLY ARE NOT DOING IT BECAUSE THEY WANT TO HELP PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS, MOST OF THEM HAVE ULTERIOR MOTIVES.
You won't see these people when amdman is posting great cars, they won't be there to encourage buyers that the car is a good car, none of them have ever encouraged buyers to go for a specific car Amdman posted, but as soon as he drops a car with one or two commas, they will all rush down to comment. Same time !!

Secondly there are so many car dealers on these forum, you still won't see any of them condemning bad cars olfrom these dealers. Or are they saying these dealers have never posted a bad car before.

No one is saying you shouldn't offer your reviews or pass comments. But as soon as those comments have motives attached, then there is no need for those comments. It simple as saying Amdman, I don't think you should advertise hybrid cars to your customers, hybrid cars are not good bla bla bla. Or amdman, that car has suspension issues, do endeavour to tell a prospective buyer before selling. SIMPLE. But y'all just go full out attack mode.

Alfred came here and posted screenshots.. the first car is obviously same, but he went and get hold of another cars pics, passing that as the same car Amdman advertised. This is clearly an attack, not a way of helping prospective customers. The two cars are different, and he clearly was trying to discredit amdman.
I have more images and he should own up for posting a different Kia to the one amdman posted. If he is not trying to bring amdman down, he won't go as far as uploading a different picture of a different car with issues and pass same as Amdman car.
The Camry is obviously right, and Amdman goofed by uploading a car with suspension issues, but the second car.. no
Also most of all other dealers do worst, bring in bad cars, repair and pass off as good cars, y'all should go and attack this people, collect the car vins and be bursting their bumbles
Just don't stay on Amdman thread alone.
PLS NOTE, I AM NOT TAKING SIDES WITH AMDMAN, I JUST HATE SEEING A PULL DOWN AT ALL COST THING[/b]

No I’m not a mechanic but I’m sure camber has to do with suspension.

Madam there is no way that he did not see that ad. I’ve asked for car from Amdman before and after he sent pictures and prices, for some, I saw exactly the same thing when I checked on autotrader and kijiji. The Camry picture he uploaded is exact from the seller’s kijiji page. He does not need someone to help him check autotrader or kijiji, he can very well do it himself.

Well same way you don’t know for sure that Gzuzz is google mechanic but you were quick to come on here and make an assumption.

Well in this case, I know for certain that he gets cars from online car sites like any normal person/dealer would.
