The only reason they are not calling portland is because in the developed world - they are rarely sold in 50kg bags like Ghana or Kenya - but most as pre-mix - the cement companies sell either concrete or mortar - they do the mixing at factory.

Back to GHANA cement consumption.

As of 2016 - US estimates you were doing 4M metric tonnes. In 2019 my own calculation came to around 5.1M tonnes.

Kenya has solid data lasting from 1963 to the highest precision.

But Thika road was not completed in 2016 . It was completed in 2012. Cement consumption went down when Kenya introduced interest rate capping for loans. That leads to banks refusing to lend to real estate sector...because it too risky to lend to them at 13%.

Obviously, this is greek for you - in Nigeria - you're borrowing bank loans at 30%.
