I can tell you the Scandinavian(Barbarians) history of how the ring came about to be on the finger, the MYTH is popular because the Romans became a world power. it's all about perspectives and yours isn't quite objective. A good majority of Nlnders have a problem with comprehension, they can read, they can write but to understand it and speak/explain on it just seems to elude them, that's why very few of them can function well on Quora and Reddit. If ALL veins(not only ones in the finger) has direct entries to the heart as you say, then wouldn't the premise of putting a marriage ring anywhere in any part of the body be valid because the vein there eventually leads to the heart.
