"Good afternoon..."Anita said upon sighting the elderly woman who stood up from the mat she was laying on to attend to her.., Anita dropped the nilon of watermelon she was holding to her side and look ahead to see if the woman have what she needs....

"Good afternoon..."The woman replied wiping the remaining of dizziness from her eyes...

She was sleeping, Anita could tell, it could be she hasn't been selling since people prefer buying things directly from pharmacies than patronizing the roadside stores....

"Please I need a ladycare..."She said dropping her hand on the glass counter..

"How many...?"The woman asked walking towards where it was arranged..

"Two please.."Anita said, she waited a bit all the while looking behind her, when she saw a guy walked into the store, she adjust herself creating a space for the guy to stand...

"Good afternoon.."The guy said to her with a smile..

"Good afternoon.."Anita replied smiling back, the guy was dark, had a well shaved beard but too much aftershave buns underneath his jaw.., she took her gaze from him the moment the woman approached her with the ladycare sanitary pad, she noticed the guy was staring at her as she pays, she almost stare back but quickly realise she had to take what she bought and rushed back home.., minutes ago before she entered the store, Susan had called her informing her to be fast, she's of the idea of taking a bike to her house but she preferred trekking since the walk from the store to her house wasn't that far and the weather was friendly, a good weather to trek for people of her financial status....

"Thank you.."She said to the woman after collecting her change.., she didn't want to but she had no choice but to look at the guy before she walked out of the store...

Anita walk as if her legs were weighing heavily on her , she sigh and hold the bag of watermelon and sanitary pad with her left hand.., as she walked she heard someone shouting "Hey" behind her.., she didn't want to look back but curiosity is a bastard.., she glance back only to see the same guy she had seen in the store she had bought sanitary pad running after her..., she stood when he pointed at her and stopped in her front...

"I've been calling you.."He said amidst pants breathe..

She almost blow him off already knowing the next thing he'll say......"Sorry, I didn't hear you.."She said with a force smile playing on her lips..

"Sorry I stopped you.."He said devouring her with his eyes..

Anita heaved in a deep breathe.., if Susan was there she would have told him they aren't interested even before the guy speaks....

"It's no problem.."She said.., it was a problem, she knows that for a fact, this guy is wasting her time.., she wish she had that kind of will power as Susan.......

"You're beautiful..."The guy said

Anita squeak almost immediately..."Thank you.."

"When I saw you at that store.., I couldn't take my eyes off you.."

Anita widened her brows.., she wasn't flattered, so many times she has heard that line, no wonder Susan doesn't give them time because they all say the same thing....

"Really.."She said a bit getting tired with the boring conversation....

"Yes..., can I have your number, I'll love to call you..."

Anita exhale..."I'll love to give it to you but I don't know it..."

"Are you sure..?"

Anita almost hissed at the question...."Why would I lie to you..."

"I didn't say you're lying.."

Anita huff.., with each statement, she gets less and less interested in the conversation..."Fine.., can I go now..?"

"I like you..."He said

"Okay..."

"I actually thought you were interested in me too..."

Anita mouth dropped wondering where he got that info from..."Haa..."

"When i smiled at you at the store.., you smiled back.."

"And because i smiled back you think I'm interested in you..?"

He flex his fingers.."Most times when a girl smile back at a guy.., it's a signal that says 'Let's see later'.."

"Well that wasnt the signal I was giving when I smiled back.."

"Then why did you smile back..?"

"Oga.."she resorted to pidgin stressed out with the line of the conversation...."Abeg I wan go...."

"You're too beautiful..."

"I heard you thank you..."She replied brusquely and around to walk away.

"What about the number..?"

She didn't bother replying, instead she fastened her pace but stopped when he said something that got to her..

"You nor even fine and you dey form...."He shouted after her..

Anita quickly turn around to face him, she glance at her sides only to see the passerbys laughing at the guy's statement ...

"Na help I wan help you.."The guy added.."Nor dey form like that, you nor go see husband marry.."

Anita hissed and turn around to walk away not bothering to give him the dignity of a reply.....

After a short walk from his house to the barbing saloon.., Samuel decided to stop at a new bar that was close to his house on his way back home.., he took a moment to study the area and people in the bar before the bar attender walked up to him....

"Good evening sir.."The young bar attender said to Samuel..

Samuel flex his fingers and glance at the young boy in front of him, he remembered when he once worked as a bar man, he was running on loss everyday.., there was even a time he wasn't paid for about three months because there were debts in his account...

"How much is your beer...?"Samuel replied

"Which of them sir..?"

"Heineken.."

"500 sir.."

"What..!"Samuel resounds..."Heineken that everybody is selling 300 is what you're selling for 500.."

"It's 500 here sir.."

"Ona be thief o"Samuel said tilting his head forward....."You people couldn't even add only 50naira to make it 350, you added 200..., na wa o.."

"That's how we sell here sir.."

Samuel exhale and calculated the money he has left in his pocket....."Star ucor..?

"Star is 400 sir..."

"Ona wan build another bar...?"Samuel ask immediately..

The bar attender force a smile in his lips...

"What about your malt.., how much is it..?"

"200 sir.."

"Give me malt.."Samuel said

"Okay sir.."The young man said and left his sight..

Samuel sigh, took his phone out and slid into his facebook account.., he raise his head to look at the man and girl sitting a few steps from him.., what they were saying was easily heard since their voices were loud....

"It's true.."The man said to the girl before pouring another round of beer in his glass...

"Ahh..."The girl mutter.."I still find it very hard to believe, how can someone just give out twenty million naira just like that.."

"They've done it in various countries.."The man said...."This is a real opportunity for every writer in Nigeria..., I suggest you summit your story..."

"So if I win, they'll pay me twenty million naira.?"The girl ask

"Of course.., they're not scams like people say.., if you doubt it, go online and research about them.."

"Wow.."The girl slack-jawed

The man took a gulp down of his drink and drop the glass on the table..."I suggest you summit yours before midnight today...."

"Is midnight today the deadline....?"The girl asked

"Yes..."

Samuel swallowed as he thought over what he could do with the money.., the lavish life he'll live..., still dwelling in his thoughts, he drank up the bottle of malt, walk up to the barman and threw the 200 in front of him.., then he walked out of the bar, if it's true 20 million naira is up for grabs..., there's no harm in trying....
