A company must make a profit for the tax waiver to make any sense.

Some stockbrokers are working hard these days...imagine sending e dividend and share transfer forms to you and informing you how to fill them and MORE IMPORTANTLY SCANNING AND SENDING IT BACK TO THEM...this saves a lot of stress and money

AIICO wahala

The game of the AIICO majority shareholders and managers is clear. They want to seize the rest of the company from minority shareholders. The rights issue is unnecessary. They do not need the capital. However, they will divide the unsubscribed shares among themselves because many minority shareholders may not be able to pick up the rights or forced to sell a portion of what they currently have to pickup their rights. Either way, they win. After all of these, they will reflect the true state of the company in their financials. Why the regulators will allow them to get away with this is mind boggling. From the point of view of a minority holder though, AIICO is a very low risk enterprise with currently a pe ratio of about 1.7 even if you base it on 11.3 billion shares including the private placement shares. This has not factored in any growth for 2020. The rights issue will further dilute this but it takes the pe ratio to 4.25 at 2019 earnings level. Growth will reduce this ratio further. It explains why they want to corner this company.

Oga Oracle,

Are you still optimistic about a rally when nigerias debt compared to income in first quarter income is almost 100%

Who will want to bring in money into such an economy or who will want to keep money in such an economy?

I am just a learner oo.

I think the future is bleak

One might just buy their Rights on the floor if the bleeding continues till Thursday/ Friday

in anycase,
Have you explored the possibility of articulating your thoughts on media like nairametrics, proshare etc? Would they give it the time of the day?

Would there be any scope for litigation from AIICO?

Have you had discussions with usurers(money lenders) before? grin grin

Dem no even want pay you pay the capital back. Just continue paying the interest. grin grin

I don't think we have debts like countries like Japan, US, Greece, Portugal, Italy etc. Ability to manage the debt and service it without default is what international investors are after. I read somewhere that we still have low debts to GDP.

This same thing was what people said in 2018, 2019 and early 2020. That so long as Bubu is there, there will be no rally in the stock market. People still dey hammer and smile to the bank.

If IMF can still look at Argentina that has defaulted 9 times, why won't they look at Nigeria.

Globally there is recession. There are lots of uncertainties. This is introducing a headwind and causing companies to cut capital spending. So not necessarily about Nigerian debt.

Once oil is affected, Nigeria dey wahala.
