Ok i made FTC! The daily update no longer scares me, thank God for the breakthrough, dexamethasone is available and affordable. That doesn't mean i shouldn't wear my facemasks, wash my hands or keep social distancing. God save us from coronavirus. 22 Likes 1 Share |

Wow! A significant rise in death rate. The negative effect of this Covid-19(whether real or scam) on the economic, mental, and social well-being of Nigerians(me inclusive) is too much. I always pray to wake up one day to a Corona-free Nigeria but I am afraid that is not happening soon. This shit is here to stay. I never imagined I will be out of job for 3months and still counting but it is happening now. Thanks to Mr. Covid-19. Laslas we go dey alright. 22 Likes 2 Shares |

Since the virus isn't reducing, the goverment should gradually lift inter state lockdown,Keep schools closed because social distancing is a lost cause and give the citizens the palliatives they need to survive the pandemic. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

31 deaths??! How come we never see photos like the one below about 9ja corona patients?? The New York Times By Benjamin Mueller and Roni Caryn RabIn June16, 2020 Common Drug Reduces Coronavirus Deaths, Scientists Report A steroid, dexamethasone, is the first drug shown to help save severely ill coronavirus patients, according to scientists in Britain. LONDON — In an unexpected sign of hope amid the expanding pandemic, scientists at the University of Oxford said on Tuesday that an inexpensive and commonly available drug reduced deaths in patients with severe Covid-19, the illness caused by the coronavirus. If the finding is borne out, the drug, a steroid called dexamethasone, would be the first treatment shown to reduce mortality in severely ill patients. Had doctors been using the drug to treat the sickest Covid-19 patients in Britain from the beginning of the pandemic, up to 5,000 deaths could have been prevented, the researchers estimated. In severe cases, the virus directly attacks cells lining the patient’s airways and lungs. But the infection also can prompt an overwhelming immune reaction that is just as harmful. Three-quarters of hospitalized Covid-19 patients receive some form of oxygen. The drug appears to reduce inflammation caused by the immune system, protecting the tissues. In the study, dexamethasone reduced deaths of patients on ventilators by one-third, and deaths of patients on oxygen by one-fifth. The trial led by Dr. Horby was a randomized, controlled clinical trial, the gold standard for medical research. About 2,100 severely ill Covid-19 patients were given low doses of dexamethasone, orally or intravenously, once a day. Their outcomes were compared with 4,300 patients who had received the usual care. The trial was stopped early, because the investigators felt that the benefit was obvious. But they said that the drug did not help moderately ill patients who were not receiving oxygen. 2 Likes 1 Share

31 deaths in a day? Nigeria death rate is too high relative to the number of cases, we should been having the highest death rate in Africa now, and their were times when the death was just 10 o. It is only God that can help us now. 4 Likes |

Galactico4ever: Ncdc is handling the cases not resident doctors. Moreover there are consultants and house officers. I think the reported cases are lower than actual figures because we use a slow method of testing and also because an average Nigerian will hide his symptoms. 15 Likes 1 Share |
