depends on when the process started, how fast your agent is and system devoid of network issues. Normally 3-5days. But if the process was started even before the arrival of ship, it can take just day or 2 from when the car was moved to terminal.

I was told the guy is suing. If such happens to my car also, i will do same.

If I am right,EFCC ceased his passports and he hasn't been able to go to UAE ( his base) where he can do his abracadabra and get funds.

Secondly being that he lives in the UAE,why buy rolls Royce or Bentley in naija knowing is his just in transit,as soon as he gets his passports,he is off to UAE.

On these, it's a 50/50 thing, you may be luck not to be stopped by customs but if they do, u just tip them or bargain with them based on the FOU or Taskforce you meet on your way.

He has go and do the final process (releasing) at the shipping company, that's where your id is needed, Maybe he has not done that and after that is when your vehicle will be brought to the floor for final thorough paper check for all payments before it's been taking out of the port and deliver to you

Instead of you to give him clues on how to go about paying the balance to customs and drive in peace, you're encouraging him to hit the road and "tip" them when caught.

It's very true theft is rampant at cotonou.

Out of 10 keyless they will steal right and still come to sell it at Ladipo .

All these theft can only stop if there is fuel station at our terminal to give fuel to vessels .

The more reason the thieves have so much time to prey on the vehicles .

Well, that's a bitter truth am telling you. You can take it or leave it...once it is not done at the actual point of clearing the consequences going back is at a high risk but when been stopped you can ask them to refer you back to valuation for your full payment.

For a 2013 car the disturbance will b much and custom demands are crazy on the road. Please what r the likely chances of setting this once and for all. Thanks will appreciate possible feedback

I am still in shock how that car got to abuja from lagos,on a norm clearing that car would cost N1.2m or more.

In my previous advice on these Page, it was said both the agent and the delear/owner has their parts in short payment.

But the works hand to hand for price negotiation on clearing either Higher or Lower.
But what matters most is that am sure they will have do 2 things while taking the vehicle down to Abuja, depending on the route taken

1. Increase the price on the duty by making another document while going and settled little or


2. Face the normal settlement of the taskforce on the road with a wavier after payment.

It's a normal practice, if I can say it that way

no way this car came in through Lagos port. It must be cotonou.
