Just to make it known. Projects too are disturbed over there but it never makes headline. The current Abuja to Kano road construction was disturbed last year because two construction workers were kidnapped. The company had to pay ransome in secret.

So, according to your dim imagination the bridge is passing through unoccupied Land?
You don't know that where the bridge will be passing that houses with people and businesses residing there has to be pulled down. People's houses demolished or marked for demolition to pave way for construction way and heavy machinery passage. Some people have factory that fell on the pathway of that bridge and have to relocate. Who bears the cost of all these, the hapless residents

Seems its the norm there.
I travelled with my dad to construct some University laboratories at Otuoke in Bayelsa state few years ago.
When we got to site, local guys showed and stopped our workers on a fed project. We reported to the VC but he said nothing could be done.
We spent 10k daily till we left the site after 14days.
This kind of thing shouldn't be allowed

as if they even have something important to do with the money that will benefit the whole community.
