Rangers flop Umar Sadiq flattered by Manchester United interest – but says it’s not accidental Steve Goodman 17 Jun 2020, 12:15 RANGERS flop Umar Sadiq has revealed his joy at being scouted by Manchester United - and insisted he merits the Red Devils' interest. The Nigerian striker played at Ibrox during a loan spell in 2018, and was sent back to Roma after just four goalless appearances. ![]() Sadiq was on loan at Rangers but the agreement was brought to an early end Credit: Willie Vass - The Sun Glasgow Sadiq has since revived his career with Partizan Belgrade, scoring 17 goals in 38 games this season. And a United scout watched him last week, when he set up Partizan's goal in a 1-0 Serbian Cup win over Red Star. Sadiq, 23, played in Partizan's two Europa League ties against United last autumn. He told Belgrade daily Republika: "Manchester United's interest is a big compliment for me as a player. "But, believe me, nothing is accidental. "Partizan have helped me a lot in my career. I found my way, and now I just follow what they ask of me. "I think this is just the beginning of my success, and the motivation is there. "We work thoroughly before every game. We don't only talk about tactics and video analysis, but also human relationships. "Whether it's the manager, Savo Milosevic, or someone else from the coaching staff, they are always there for us. "As for United, I think they were surprised by how we played against them in Belgrade. "They put out their best team, which tells you how much respect they had." |

Ahmed Musa Proved Himself As A Passionate Sportsman By Commissioning A 500 Million Naira Sports Facility In Kano By Pereira Bimpe - June 17, 2020 ![]() Ahmed Musa was born on the 14th day of October 1992 in Jos, Plateau state. He was born to his Father, Alhaji Musa (a polygamist) and his mother, Sarah Moses (second wife of his father). Being born in Jos, he is best described as a J-town boy (slang used to refer to males born in Jos, Nigeria) by Nigerians especially those who reside in his city of birth. The Nigerian international who is originally from Borno State, Nigeria (birthplace of his father) was single-handedly raised in Edo State, Nigeria by his mother (pictured below) following the death of his father when he was 7 years old. Consequently, Sarah Moses bore the full responsibility of Musa’s up-bring and that of his four sisters. The way Sarah Moses recalls, raising Young Musa and her four daughters would have been a piece of cake for Sarah Moses if her late husband were alive. He was a very generous man who took care of all his wives before he died.” She revealed to Sporting Life Fortunately, it didn’t take too long before Ahmed Musa (who is also the last born of his mother) stepped into his later father’s shoe and assumed the role of breadwinner for not just his immediate family but extended as well. A fact his mother can attest to her delight: “My son has been the breadwinner of the family and even our extended family members. He is taking good care of all of us.” Ahmed proved himself as a passionate sportsman by commissioning a 500 Million Naira sports facility in Kano on the 15th of June 2017. According to Ahmed, the facility is meant to bring standard state of the art training facilities to fellow passionate sports lovers. “People like football in Kano and they pay money to train in different places, so I thought that it would be good to have a standard place where all these people could have a good place to train, play football and relax.” In addition to promoting sports and ensuring youth support, Ahmed Musa is extremely involved in charity. Photos and Videos posted on his social media handle captures the Leicester Forward giving back (distributing money) to the community in the spirit of Ramadan. He has also helped secure freedom for no fewer than 40 children including young adults that were remanded in at the Taurey, Goron Dutse Prison Yard, Remands Home for Children and Kurmawa Prison all in Kano state. Not to mention distributing bag of rice to the needy. --sports247ng 1 Like |
