Non of them choose any University in the East? What could be the problem with eastern schools or is just the usual negative stereotype that effects the east.

Ever since Ndi Enugu took over UNN administration the school has lost its once envied status. Enugu / Nsukka people ran UNN down!!

The funds Obi invested in bonds should be released , at least part of it like 50 billion and used strictly to build more quality education structures , retrains those dunmb and useless professors and fire the rest. I need educational revolution. Why not, we have the money sitting in the bank. We need to build more school of artisans because the Yoruba dominates in that area while our boys are busing thinking how to become a billonaire over night without breaking a sweat. They look down on artisans. Very bad precedence.

The dirty old roads just spoilt this video.

The road is the Onitsha - Aguleri road also called Nkisi road or 33 road.

It is a Federal road and Obiano opted to dualize it to ease access to the Onitsha suburbs at Nkwelle Ezunaka and Nsugbe. But the FG REFUSED Anambra State Govt. request to dualize the road. The worst part is that even the FG itself also refused to do any type of rehabilitation on the road!

That is part of the terrible frustration with the governance structure of Nigeria today. The Federal Govt. will deliberately marginalize a region by refusing to do basic infrastructure as roads, then they will also bar anyone or the state government from providing the amenity!

I have been watching you for a long time and it seems like all you do is highlight the federal government short coming while you excused the failure in Akpokuedike's government. I think its important for the decency of this issue for me to bring to your knowledge many instances ,in which, Obi , as Anambra state government used state money to build projects that are responsibility of the federal government. Initially, the federal government were foot dragging and Obi is his endless love for his people dipped into state funds and build every projects including private schools. In his defense for using state funds to build federal projects , he states " these structures are going to be used primarily by Ndi Anambra. Thats pure love , patriotism and wisdom on the part of Okwute Omanbala.

These projects ranging in the sum of 48 billion and the feds refused to pay but it was still Obiano who pressured the the feds until they paid up. Needless to say, but the governor (Obiano) made a lot of noises about the funds but we didnt hear anything regarding the funds when it was eventually paid up. That's deception, for one.

And now that relate issue have surfaced again, and you think Obiano has no mandate to deliver dividends of good governance to Ndi Anambra. The fact that the feds asked him not to construct the road is not a good reason for Ndi Anambra to keep suffering...Obiano is making a convenient excuse. Like I said several times, Obiano doesn't have the aggression , frugality and wisdom to take our great land to it destined position. Obiano is a failure and this is coming from a person who campaigned for him here when Obi picked him up.

Dont even get me started with our IGR!! Poor Poor Poor!

Nwanne, I love what you do for our fathers land , Anambra and I often praise and bless your days , but ezi okwu bu ndu. You are saying that the mere fact that these bright minds choice of university is a coincidence, even the fact that 99% chose sw universities? I have been paying attention to university pictures posted by sw guys and the ones you posted and I was disturbed. Our universities and crap compared to sw ones. I even had a heated conversation with Oliaku mu who is a lioness and challenged her to prove me wrong about the dilapidated se universities and she couldnt. I am even surprised that the most outstanding university in se is Unizik! Shocking because unizik is relatively new compared to "almighty" UNN. Sad!

What about Anambra state University that Obi dumped over 4 billion naira into before leaving office. Obiano was not what I expected, after all. Anambra state university should be one of the best in the nation because WE ARE SIMPLY THE OMANBALAS...No room for failures!

you took it right outta my mouth. I was embarrassed with those pictures. The poster shouldn't have posted them seeing that they were eye sores compared to their counterparts even within Nigeria. Our politicians failed woefully on that part honestly

Umu afonja trying so hard to pose as Igbos. I won't waste time reading your long epistle nor responding to your total the crap using multiple monikers trying to deflect blame from FG on their evil deeds in Igboland.

To begin with, i am no politician's person. They cannot afford to pay me, and i say this with all humility. I am decently wealthy at my age. However, if i were to say i have routed for any politician, it would be Peter Obi. Go through my posts and you will confirm it.

Let me just state that Obiano has done fantastically well. Even with the fewer resources at his disposal. Obiano has also built more than N31 billion naira worth of Federal roads. Added to Obi's more than N20 billion naira spent on Federal roads, Anambra is owed more than N52 billion naira by the FG! But Buhari has NOT PAID ONE KOBO and will NEVER PAY because he deliberately wanted Federal roads in Igboland to be terrible to punish them! Buhari's sick vindictive character is not in question, but it should not be a reason why people should feel embarrassed showing the failure of FG. Else, they will come out and brazenly lie to you they have done every Federal road, the way Zainab Ahmed told you they distributed COVID-19 Palliatives to everyone in the SE, even when she knows they deliberately avoided the SE in distribution of the FG palliatives! . Therefore, If you are embarrassed to see the state of federal roads in Igboland, then i must have done a good job!

Obiano has continued to intervene in Federal projects when there is an emergency that threaten to kill our people. For example, there were erosion projects identified in 2017 that would swallow people homes. The Federal Government came and made their usual empty promises and abandoned the people. More than 50 buildings caved in until Obiano recently intervened, even without the massive funds at his disposal. Even the 100 foot erosion site at Nnewi and the more recent Nkisi Aroli erosion sites where Obiano has spent close to N10 billion naira on both sites! So it is silly to conjure the crap that Obiano does not do his best intervening on Federal Government projects to save our people. Even when he knows the toxic anti-Igbo Federal Government would not reimburse him.

Nwokem , you are smarter than calling me a Yoruba just like Pazienza who knew me initially with the Nri Priest handle when Onlytruth, Obiagu, Dede1, Ezeagu etc were still here. Its really childish to use ethnic sentiment to lower the importance of my post. Did you also believe a Yoruba man opened the enchantment of Igwulube Okodu thread I did a long while ago with my old moniker, Odenigbo Aroli ?

My point , however, is that nothing stops Obiano from doing federal projects that add value to the life of average onye Anambra....dont make excuses for him, rather challenge him to do more. Additionally , I am very well placed financially and I have lived in U.S for over 10yrs....so, we are not all hungry like you thought and I dont belong to any political party neither do I have association with Anambra politicians. My concern is driven by the investments and political interest I have in the state of my ancestors. I hardly talk about my town , self nor Anambra rich men...I am,however , deeply interested in the well being and quality of life of every indigenous Anambra person. If Buhari decides that he would not build projects in the state because they didnt vote him .....that is an easy route for secession !!! Let Obiano grow some balls

Ekene ghaa nku aka obulu mkpali. Okenye adi ano n' unor eghu anwuo na ogbuli. I dont beat around, whether good or bad.

Anambra Finances were published by Obiano - one of the few good things his administration has accomplished. Check ANSG website and marvel at the waste of resources that continues under APGA. His office alone consumes something on the order of 13 billion - more than wages paid to all workers in government.

Obi is not a Saint either. His projects were of generally poor quality and if you want evidence just check out roads that are already collapsing or the hospital in awka whose walls are peeling and roofs falling and which lacks central water supply. Yet Obi is parading himself around Nigeria as some governance genius.

Ngige to he frank remains the best governor to date. He had an eye for detail and quality and it is why RCC built many of the roads under his administration not IDC and other crookish local contractors.Next time you are in Nigeria visit RCCs expressway being built between Umunya and Amawbia. That is engineering. Ngige unfortunately has a tendency to dine with the devil and his time has passed.

Anambrarians should hope for better governor when Obiano steps down. Someone who understands development and can resist the criminals that usually surround politicians in Nigeria. Obaze would have made a great governor because he was the one that got Obi focused ON MDGS like education, health as SSG when Obis instinct was to use government money to expand his business interests.

There are facts and insinuations. Buhari may be an unrepentant Fulani supremacist but his administration has actually done more infrastructural projects in the South East than the former president parading himself as Azikiwe Ebele.

Who is funding the construction of the Second Niger Bridge? Who is constructing the Enugu-Onitsha and Enugu-Port Harcourt expressways that were unmotorable in 2014? Who is fixing the runway at Enugu Airport that was a disaster waiting to happen.

Yes Obi did a lot of work on the bridge head section of the expressway otherwise Onitsha was practically inaccessible in 2008. Obi also redid the old Enugu Onitsha road which provided an alternate route to the collapsing federal expressway.

However Obiano made a critical mistake in not completing the Umunya - Awka expressway. At around 20km he could have built it with 4 years worth of budgets but instead he was building bridges in Anambra East to oil fields ANSG has yet to reveal is benefitting who. But maybe it's better the federal government is constructing it now considering the poor quality contractors Obianos Works people like to use.

Being a governor is not just about building infrastructures , you must shape the minds of your youths and ressurect their spirit of innovation and invention. Money doesnt fix everything

The partnership with the churches to run primary and secondary schools is good. However, at the university level you need more than basics. You need a lot of money. The average SE government has a budget of less than 100 billion naira. Less than 5% is allocated to universities. So the average state university is run with a budget of less than 5 billion naira. Assuming their enrollment is around 10,000 that means less than 500,000 per student which is pitiful.

What needs to happen is for state governments to engage its rich diaspora by establishing endowment funds. Open up the governing council of the state university to esteeemed people in society to ensure the money is spent properly and raise money for the university from the diaspora. The Anambrarian diaspora can easily raise $100 million endowment for Anambra State University. Rich Anambrarians can donate buildings and establish scholarships. But you need a proper, trustworthy administration to achieve such.

I attended American university and this is how top-notch libraries, research institutes, lecture theatres are built. Harvard University has an endowment of $40 billion - more than Nigeria's government budget.

Many factors are responsible for our broken service sectors. The people involved in running the affairs of the state are just made men who dabbled in politics. Obi had his short comings with his mediocre projects but he covered a lot of grounds. The man brought sanity and stability to the states consciousness. He wasnt tasteful with his projects but he got them done. The man transformed our broken primary and secondary school system with massive funds , the results are there.

I confidently believe that Anambra state goverment can use native means to rally around our wealthy men and get them to key into key projects that can tranform the state in 20 years. Have you ever asked why are the so called Anambra billonaires are ,while Aguleri oil fields is laying fallow. These people dont believe in the state , they are all leeching on our fathers land and getting rich for themselves. Back to topic; Anambra has over 100 billion Peter Obi invested in bonds , why arent we using it. Obiano out of his big ego probably dont want to touch it after it became the topic of many public displays of dishonesty from him(Obiano). The money is sitting there and Anambra is looking all third world. Additionally, our people dont pay enough taxes. You cant live in a city and contribute just a penny. Things must be restructured and a database for everything created...there are many works to do and absolutely nothing to jubilate about. Not everybody must be a trader...we need artisans! The state is a mess.

We have more than enough to transform the state in 20 years but these worthless leaders are wasting money on non sense. The yearly sum of footing Obiano's expensive lifestyle is enough to build a world class secondary school with a stadia. Obiano is very wasteful and the cost of running Anambra is ffucking expensive. Those house of reps members are useless...just bunch of clowns on Obiano's pay role. However, all hope is not lost....we have capable hands in Obaze, Chidoka and Soludo but i feel Soludo has this elitist thing about him....like arrogant but he cant prevail in Anambra.

The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Uche Ekwunife has canvassed for the decentralization of the Nigerian Army University located at Biu in Borno State.

According to Kingsley Ubani,SA Media to Senator Uche Ekwunife, Ekwunife made this call during a public hearing held on Tuesday by the Senate committee on Army to consider the bill for an Act to establish the Nigerian Army University, Biu.

While speaking at the hearing, the Senator who is a member of the Senate committee emphasized that apart from the Army university being a citadel of learning, it can play a vital role in dealing with the security challenges bedeviling the country, as well as help strengthen the relationship between the military and the civilian population.

She advocated in very strong terms that campuses of the Army university be established in each of the six geopolitical zones in the country. In particular, she proposed that the one for the South East should be located in Agulu, Anambra State where there is enough land to accommodate a campus of such university.

“This is a specialised university and first of its kind in Nigeria. Crime has no colour or religion. Crime is crime in any part of the country. That is why I suggest that we should have campuses in every zone while we have the centre in Borno State where the university is already sited", she said.

"It is appropriate to have campuses of a specialised school like the Army university in all the zones. It will help us, not only in terms of technological advancement but to also reduce the crime rate in Nigeria.", she added.

ONITSHA, Anambra, Nigeria – Eight months to the completion date of the Anambra State Cargo Airport Umueri in Anambra East local area , work is yet to commence on site, says commissioner for works Marcel Ifejiofor.

The state government appropriated N6 billion for the construction of the Anambra Cargo Airport in the 2020 budget.

The commissioner made the disclosure on Wednesday when a team of journalists who had earlier visited the airport site, went to his office to get details information on the project.

The commissioner who was not happy with the journalists trying to find out the situation reports,” noted “ noting is happening at the site, if that is the reason you came to my office” ask for another thing. When asked if that can be taken as his comment, he said yes.

Recall that the governor of the state chief Willie Obiano had on November 2019 said the construction work at the Anambra Cargo Airport would be completed in less than 18 months.

The assurance came four years after the project cited at Umueri community was flagged off. Obiano gave the assurance at the third Anambra Business and Investment Roundtable at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, Anambra state

He promised to do everything possible to complete the project within the stipulated time. Obiano also stated that clearing had been done on one-kilometre of the airport’s 3.6-kilometre runway.

The commissioner who was visibly angry with the journalists for trying to find out the development at airport ,said that he had no comment to make on the airport project, saying that when he is ready he will tell the journalists what to write.

” My answer is no comment and no comment”, he told journalists, whom he kept standing for over 30 minutes.

‘I don’t have any comment to make on the project development, any time I want to make comment I will tell you. If the project has started our Anambra Broadcasting Service ABS would have carried the report” he said.

The Journalists, who further tried to convince him on why he should speak on the project development citing public interest ,he said ‘ “is it because I allowed you into my office. How many commissioners in the state can allow you into their offices the way I allowed you people into their offices, not to talk of other eastern states. I don’t have any comments on the project” he said.

From the site the commissioner told journalists on phone ” why are you here? Who told you to come here? We don’t allow people to come here, you can’t come, but you can come to my office on the following day Wednesday by 10am” he said

However, the journalists finding showed that work had started as some earth moving equipment were already clearing the site.

Meanwhile Anambra state in the 2020 budget appropriated N6 billions for the airport.

The commissioner had late last year after the presentation of 2020 budget given reasons ,the State Government budgeted N6 billion for the construction of the proposed Anambra Cargo Airport, despite initial information that a Chinese Company, Sinoking International would build it at no cost to the state through a build – operate –manage-and transfer (BOMT) basis.

According to him,the state government made provision of N6 billion in the proposed 2020 budget because the Chinese company was wasting time, and the governor needed to start doing something since he had already promised the people an airport.

This is a fake and dubious report. There's no authentic link or source because I have searched online. Anambra international airport project is fast ongoing and will be completed on schedule because there over 5 different contractors on site

Anambra international cargo and passenger airport is ongoing and will be complete as scheduled, but I don't know why they are stopping people from snapping pictures there.

Well it's Good in other ways shaa to Ban those afonja journalists coming to plant charms out of envy and lying about the project.

Rocksvibes234:

Quit masturbating in your delusion

At no time is UNIZIK better in ANY WAY than UNN.

School gate does not connote academic excellence. Only 3 schools in Nigeria have maintained constant appearance in The Higher Times University ranking. They are

- UI
- COVENANT
- UNN

This isn't webometrics or 4icu, this is Higher Times...a simple google will cure your delusion

So quit making baseless and divisive statements.
