Ok i had ear blockage, i thought it was wax so i flushed my ears with hydrogen peroxide, but it remained blocked and my hearing greatly decreased in the ear, it blocks then opens many times in a minute, i then saw a pharmacist who said it was ear infection, he prescribed some antibiotics and artifed and another antihistamine, a day after taking those drugs i started having ringing in my ears, its very bad and disturbing,
So doctors do you guys have any advise will the ringing go away as i have stopped all the drugs except the antibiotics.

I read in a book on benefits of onions that when the ear is ringing, one should dip cotton wool into onion juice and put in the ear. You can check it out on Google to know how far it can help.

OP, go and see your ENT doctor. You may be having a gradual loss of your sense of hearing. You may not be aware until a significant aspect of your sense of hearing is gone. Yours may be a mild but progressive sensorineural hearing loss.

OP, leave Nairaland and go and see your ENT doctor before it becomes critical

Augmentin is the only antibiotic medication there and it does not cause tinnitus as a side effect.. I'll suggest you go see an ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Thanks so much, guys it wasnt an infection my former ear doctor was just eating my money, it was a blocked ear that was causing the ringing i had it flushed and the ringing and blockage stopped instantly, the hearing is back and very perfect.

I stay in Port Harcourt and I experienced this last week. I woke up with funny sounds in my left ear.

It was like every sound I heard echoed in a steel-like noise and heck, it was uncomfortable.

After the first day, I got an ear drop, and 2 days later it didn't improve. I had to get an earplug to shield extra noise and avoid other irritants while listening to soothing music. And 4 days after, it got better.

So I really do not think it was the flushing that did it, your cochlea healed.

It wasnt problem with the coclea, in my case it was blocked ear, there was something big blocking it. Before i went for flushing it was very very loud and after flushing it just dissappered
